  • Assuming that summer surface waters in the South Sea (northern East China Sea) are formed mostly by a mixing of three source water (Changjiang Discharge Water; Kuroshio Water and Yellow Sea Surface Water) we apply optimum multiparameter (OMP) analysis to calculate the mixing ratio of each source water to a given surface water. Since OMP requires more parameters than the number of water types (three in this study), we utilize two radium isotopes of dissolved $^{226}Ra\;and\;^{228}Ra$ along with temperature and salinity. Parameter values of each source water are deduced from in situ and historical data. Results with three source of waters on the surface waters are quite promising with less than $1\%$ of unanswered portions. Results not only reproduce the measured temperature and salinity faithfully but also discern the water masses of similar T and S according to their source water mixing. Extending OMP analysis to a whole water column obviously requires more parameters because more source waters are involved in the water mass formation. Original OMP routine utilized dissolved oxygen and nutrients. However, they seem to be perturbed too much by biological activities in the case of shallow waters. We discussed the use of other potential parameters. Also the benefit of parameter substitution is briefly introduced for the future OMP application on shallow waters.

  • Robust parameter design is to identify appropriate settings of control factors that make the system's performance robust to changes in the noise factors that represent the source of variation. In this paper, we introduce a factor analysis approach to simultaneously optimize multiple quality characteristics in the robust parameter design. An example is illustrated to compare it with already proposed method.

  • The acoustic emission(AE) technique is a well established method to carry out structural health monitoring(SHM) of large structures. However, the real-time monitoring of the crack growth in the roller coaster support structures is not easy since the vehicle operation produces very large noise as well as crack growth. In this investigation, we present the waveform parameter filtering method to classify acoustic sources in real-time. This method filtrates only the AE hits by the target acoustic source as passing hits in a specific parameter band. According to various acoustic sources, the waveform parameters were measured and analyzed to verify the present filtering method. Also, the AE system employing the waveform parameter filter was manufactured and applied to the roller coaster support structure in an actual amusement park.

  • An accurate large-signal BSIM4 macro model including new empirical bias-dependent equations of the drain-source capacitance and channel resistance constructed from bias-dependent data extracted from S-parameters of RF MOSFETs is developed to reduce $S_{22}$-parameter error of a conventional BSIM4 model. Its accuracy is validated by finding the much better agreement up to 40 GHz between the measured and modeled $S_{22}$-parameter than the conventional one in the wide bias range.

  • The purpose of this paper is to depict the effect of gravity on a nonlocal thermoelastic medium with initial stress. The Lord-Shulman and Green-Lindsay theories with fractional derivative order serve as the foundation for the formulation of the fundamental equations for the problem. To address the problem and acquire the exact expressions of physical fields, appropriate non-dimensional variables and normal mode analysis are used. MATLAB software is used for numerical calculations. The projected outcomes in the presence and absence of the gravitational field, along with a nonlocal parameter, are compared. Additional comparisons are made for various fractional derivative order values. It is evident that the variation of physical variables is significantly influenced by the fractional derivative order, nonlocal parameter and gravity field.

  • Among the various ground source heat pump systems, vertical-type heat pump systems have been distributed greatly. Most of the vertical-type ground source heat pump systems have been designed based on the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy Announcement in Korea. In this study, the design process of the vertical-type ground source heat pump system in the announcement was analyzed, and the effects of the design parameters on the ground loop heat exchanger were investigated. Borehole thermal conductivity was the highest dominant design parameter for ground loop heat exchangers. The borehole thermal conductivity was changed according to the pipe and grout thermal conductivity. For optimal design of the ground heat pump system, it is highly recommended that the design process in the announcement will be revised to adopt the various tubes and grout which have higher thermal conductivity. In addition, the certification standard for heat pump unit should be revised to develop the heat pump with a small flow rate.

  • Make Photochromic lens Photochromism estimation method, and gouge photochromic lens and investigated UV light source to apply. UV light source irradiation ago and after wavelength dependence of photo-transmittance (T%) of darkening and fading state by do optical equipment which is consisted of spectrophotometer, light source, power meter and detecter. Use relative ratio value of maximum $T%{\times}{\lambda}$ area and saturated state area in light off. Dependences estimation introduced darkening efficiency $(K_d)=(1-C_1/A_1)/t_{on}$ relationship value course fading efficiency$(K_f)=(C_2/A_2)/t_{on}$ value during Photochromism's irradiation time in Photochromic lens. Wavelength dependence of transmittance (T%) has form of $T_m+T_1{\exp}[-(x_0-t)/a]$ in Darkening course fading state. Can receive each estimation parameter value as result that apply Photochromism's estimation parameter Z, $K_d$, $K_f$ in Photochromic lens.

  • In this article, we consider singularly perturbed Boundary Value Problems(BVPs) for second order Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) with Neumann boundary condition and discontinuous source term. A parameter-uniform error bound for the solution is established using the Streamline-Diffusion Finite Element Method (SDFEM) on a piecewise uniform meshes. We prove that the method is almost second order of convergence in the maximum norm, independently of the perturbation parameter. Further we derive superconvergence results for scaled derivatives of solution of the same problem. Numerical results are provided to substantiate the theoretical results.

  • A new paired gate-source voltage RF capacitance-voltage (C-V) method of extracting the effective channel length and parasitic capacitance using the intersection between two closely spaced linear regression lines of the gate capacitance versus gate length measured from S-parameters is proposed to remove errors from conventional C-V methods. Physically verified results are obtained at the gate-source voltage range where the slope of the gate capacitance versus gate-source voltage is maximized in the inversion region. The accuracy of this method is demonstrated by finding extracted value corresponding to the metallurgical channel length.

  • Generally, When we measure of object 3D surfaces with phase shifting shadow moire method, it is use of optical system consist of light source, grating, and ccd camera. At this time, it is important parameter that vertical distance of grating and camera, grating and light source, and horizontal distance of camera and light source. When use camera consist of complex lens vertical distance of grating and camera is unknown parameter. From this cause equivalent wave length of moire fringe is uncertain. In this study, We exactly obtain a vertical distance of grating and camera so improve on measurement accuracy.
