Electronic Catalogue Based Cutting Parameter Selection (전자 카탈로그식 절삭변수 선정의 자동화)

  • This study presents an electronic catalogue based cutting parameter selection system using MS Access software. The proposed system has been designed to electronically select proper cutting conditions based on the stored data base. The existing approaches used in most small and medium sized companies are basically to use manufacturing engineer's experience or to find the recommended values from the manufacturing engineer handbook. These processes are often time consuming and inconsistent, especially when a new engineer is involved. Therefore, this study proposes a simple, yet quick and consistent electronic catalogue based cutting parameter selection method which uses MS Access in terms of programming and database implementation. Consequently, the proposed system could automatically generate the proper cutting conditions (feed, depth of cut, and cutting speed) as soon as the input data (proper information about the tool and work material) is given. Thanks to the simple structure and popularity of the MS Access, the engineer could be quickly accustomed to the system and easily modify/insert/delete the database if necessary.

  • Most of the software development is determined by the hard skills of project participants and capacity management and operations. However, failure of the current software development is very high. Since the development of the exploration of human psychology continues, the study that there is an association between the preferences of personality and work preference has been actively conducted. It is found out that there is a relationship of preferences in MBTI, the test tool of psychological typology, and those for the work of the ICT engineers tuned to the software development cycle. By using the information on the soft skills associated with software development for the psychological typology, it can be understood the preference of the software development process. In this paper, we develop a program for software development process to allow personality type to be classified with using the soft skills to find ways to improve education and collaboration capabilities of ICT engineers.

  • 전송기술은, 교환기술과 더불어 전기통신시스템의 기둥이되는 것으로, 지금까지는 저코스트 고품질로 안정한 전화회선을 대량으로 공급하는 것을 주목적으로 하고, 많은 기술개발이 진행되어왔다. 또 이 일환인 전송품질이나 신뢰도에 필수의 소후트웨어(software)로 되여있다. 또 최근에는 전화이외에 통신이나 화상통신과 같은 신전기통신의 이용분야가 급속으로 확대되고 있다. 이 때문에 전송기술에 있어서도 회선의 광대역화, 전송로의 초대객화등과 같은, 종래와는 전연 상이한 기술혁신의 시기를 맞이하려 하고 있다. 다음에 기술한 것은 최근의 전기통신시스템의 구성이나 그 동향과 전송기술과의 관계를 개략적으로 소개한 것으로 전기통신전송방식의 최근의 동향과 흐름을 알 수 있다고 생각한다.

  • In this paper, we design COMS system bus that the 1553 Data Bus is able to link all the units of the satellite managed by the SCU using one Prime Data Bus and on Redundant Data Bus. Also we analyze MIL-STD-1553B bus load and relevant exchange memory budgets in system bus of the COMS satellite. This data is used in the satellite mission and software design by system engineer.

  • This paper describes the development of training simulator for Hadong fossil Power Plant. The simulator was developed to train operator, test new control Logic and evaluate alternative operating procedure for expert engineer of control system. The most control logics such as Siemens TELEPERM ME and GE Mark V are translated directly from microprocessors. Those HMI are also directly emulated. The simulation was performed by ProTRAX modeling software. The paper discusses the configuration of simulator and the simulation results of 30%, 50%, 75% and 100% normal rate load test.

  • To produce quality software products, engineers must feel personally responsible for the qualify of products. Superior products are not produced by mistake; engineers must strive to do quality work. Every engineer is different and has own process improvement method.   • As the cost of installing and maintaining software on large organizations such as recent companies and schools has increased, software installation and maintenance costs are low, system management is easy, demand for ease of use software solutions has increased. In the reality that special education for service center engineers is required along with the release of various products, training of the software and solution industry is regarded as important. Building Web-based user and system interactive environment, strengthened usability and educational ability effect suitable for engineer level. In the future, research that is familiar with specific software, not successfully combining multiple frameworks, rather than developers, will be increasingly important for research that can achieve optimal performance.

  • The importance of software in the engineering field is increasing day by day, so the utilization and understanding of the simulation software in the engineering design stage has become the core competence of the engineer. This study presents a new software education method for multiple systems in the field of mechanical engineering using a workflow execution environment as a sub-module of a computational platform (called EDISON platform) that can incorporate in-house software tools developed by many simulation tool developers. It can execute not only individual software tools such as fluid flow, structure, optimal design, but also conduct connective executions of multiple software tools. Based on this simulation environment, a methodology was proposed that can be applied to convergence types of engineering educations. By properly using this methodology, it is expected that beginning engineers could encourage their specialties understanding the big pictures of the analysis processes.

On-line tuning of controllers with state observer using a real-time CAD of control systems

  • In this paper development of a CAD of control systems is introduced which enables us to do not only analysis of control systems, design of controllers but also real-time implementation of controllers. By utilizing this software, the control engineer is able to repeat the procedure of modification of controllers and experiments without recompile to attain better performance. The software also offers the facility to update the parameters of controllers without stopping real-time control, which helps on-line tuning of controllers. If some parameters of the controller is changed on-line, the control input may change discontinuously. It has serious effect on the control systems. A method for on-line tuning of state feedback controller with state observer is proposed and verified through the experiment with an inverted pendulum.
