Uesrs Pattern Discovery of Social Network Service by Social Network Analysis : Focusing on Facebook (소셜네트워크 서비스 사용자 패턴 발견을 위한 사회 네트워크 분석 활용에 관한 연구: 페이스북을 중심으로)

  • Companies see a new business opportunity in the increased popularity of social network services and the related studies are also gaining more attention. This study attempted to analyze the social networks and thereby find a pattern in the use of social network services. Network users' pattern has been categorized by their purpose of use. Among various social network services, we selected the Facebook and its users were analyzed by a network analysis tool called NodeXL. In the end, several subgroups have been identified in a seemingly homogeneous network. Furthermore, the network shape differences according to the usage of social network services has been studied by comparing "friends" of an individual Facebook user with those of the K University Facebook page.

Performance Analysis of an Estimated Closeness Centrality Ranking Algorithm in Large-Scale Workflow-supported Social Networks (대규모 워크플로우 소셜 네트워크의 추정 근접 중심도 랭킹 알고리즘 성능 분석)

  • This paper implements an estimated closeness centrality ranking algorithm in large-scale workflow-supported social networks and performance analyzes of the algorithm. Existing algorithm has a time complexity problem which is increasing performance time by network size. This problem also causes ranking process in large-scale workflow-supported social networks. To solve such problems, this paper conducts comparison analysis on the existing algorithm and estimated results by applying estimated-driven RankCCWSSN(Rank Closeness Centrality Workflow-supported Social Network). The RankCCWSSN algorithm proved its time-efficiency in a procedure about 50% decrease.

  • Recently, the popularity of Social Network Service (SNS) along with the spread of smart phone, personal computer and tablet PC helps personal network to construct new forms of services in cyberspace. As such, SNS plays a significant role in constructing diverse online networks and there is a growing interest on SNS at societal level. In this vein, the purpose of the research was to find the factors affecting the continuance intention to use social network services. The major findings are summarized as follows. First, "System Quality", "Contents Quality", "Personal Innovativeness", "Self-Efficiency", "Honor Benefit" has significant effects on "Relationship Quality". Yet, "Economic Benefit" is not statistically significant on "Relationship Quality". Second, "Relationship Quality" has a significant effect on "Continuous Usage Intention". Last, our research discovered the relationship between exogenous variables which would serve as valuable inputs in the development of strategic guideline and plan for SNS companies and related services.

A Trend Analysis of Floral Products and Services Using Big Data of Social Networking Services

  • This study was carried out to analyze trends in floral products and services through the big data analysis of various social networking services (SNSs) and then to provide objective marketing directions for the floricultural industry. To analyze the big data of SNSs, we used four analytical methods: Cotton Trend (Social Matrix), Naver Big Data Lab, Instagram Big Data Analysis, and YouTube Big Data Analysis. The results of the big data analysis showed that SNS users paid positive attention to flower one-day classes that can satisfy their needs for direct experiences. Consumers of floral products and services had their favorite designs in mind and purchased floral products very actively. The demand for flower items such as bouquets, wreaths, flower baskets, large bouquets, orchids, flower boxes, wedding bouquets, and potted plants was very high, and cut flowers such as roses, tulips, and freesia were most popular as of June 1, 2019. By gender of consumers, females (68%) purchased more flower products through SNSs than males (32%). Consumers preferred mobile devices (90%) for online access compared to personal computers (PCs; 10%) and frequently searched flower-related words from February to May for the past three years from 2016 to 2018. In the aspect of design, they preferred natural style to formal style. In conclusion, future marketing activities in the floricultural industry need to be focused on social networks based on the results of big data analysis of popular SNSs. Florists need to provide consumers with the floricultural products and services that meet the trends and to blend them with their own sensitivity. It is also needed to select SNS media suitable for each gender and age group and to apply effective marketing methods to each target.

  • As the influence of social networking services across the societies becomes greatly higher, many of the domestic agencies are trying to communicate with users through the introduction of social networking services. In this paper, we present a reliable exhibition-related contents recommendation service to combine social networking service concept with the customized contents recommendation method we previously proposed. The proposed service may effectively and reliably recommend its users exhibition-related contents by exploiting their relationships in the social networks compared with the existing ones.

  • Social network analysis use the n nodes with l connections. About dozens or hundreds number of nodes are reasonable for social network analysis to the entire data. Beyond such number of nodes it will be difficult to analyze entire data. Therefore, it is necessary to separate the whole social networks, a method that can be used at this time is Clustering. You will be able to easily perform the analysis of the features of social networks and the relationships between nodes, if sub-group consists of all the nodes by Clustering. Clustering algorithm needs the interaction with the user and computer because it is need to pre-set the number of sub-groups. Sub-groups generated like this can not be guaranteed optimal results. In this paper, we propose dynamic sub-groups creating method using the external community association. We compared with previous studies by the number of sub-groups and sub-groups purity standards. Experimental results show the excellence of the proposed method.

Social Network Analysis of Professional Groups based on Co-author and Review Networks (전문가 그룹의 소셜 네트워크 분석: 국내 학술지 공저자 및 심사자 네트워크를 중심으로)

  • Many studies have been studied in the Information Technology (IT) area such as Information Systems, Business, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics and so on. Although various fields for IT exist, searching experts and reviewers in IT journals are subjective. The related journals have made efforts to assign experts for the qualified review. This study conducted developing the framework for understanding and evaluating the experts among co-authors and reviewers through social network analysis. To explore the findings, we collected data of the co-authored network and the reviewer network of the Korea Society of IT Services Journal. Totally, 545 authors for submissions and 314 co-authors were used for analyzing the co-authored network. To analyze the network, we divided two networks as a network for 545 papers and a network of 316 papers excluded 229 single authored-papers. In the findings, we found out various researchers published their papers with collaborations. Also, authors who have high scores of centrality can be said as experts for specific fields. In addition, we analyzed 358 data of reviewers from 2005 to 2011. About 50 reviewers have reviewed the submitted papers based on their expertise since 2005. Peculiarly, the expertise and the qualified review in Korea Society of IT Services Journal were identified in that almost reviewers do not review various papers at a time based on low degree measures and network density.

The network analysis for school health program (학교 보건사업 협력 네트워크 분석)

  • Objectives: The challenging issue of public health program is to strengthen partnership and network between health resources. This study identified the structure and characteristics of school health program network. Methods: In this paper we collected data from schools and organizations in 4 local communities in 2014 that participated to school health program. Using social network analysis techniques we measured the number of component, diameter, density, average degree, node centralization for each network. Results: We determined that networks shared some common organizational structure such as less density, low average degree, and short diameter. Networks were dominated by the health center, and directions of collaborations between nodes were mostly one-way. Conclusions: These findings can help to depict the network of school health program. The further research is necessary to define causal relationship between network effectiveness and public health outcomes.

  • This paper investigates the influence of social networks on the satisfaction and loyalty of online game users. We gather the resulting questionnaires written by all respondents and compare social networks of users in the online game world. Social networks of online game users influence a sense of community. In consequence, the community sense influences the satisfaction and loyalty of online game users, respectively. Therefore, the companies which produce an online game and provide various services to users should consider the social networks and communities of their game users. Especially they have to try to manage the users who are the opinion leaders of the online game. If the companies make good relationships with users who are the opinion leaders of the online game, they would easily improve the loyalty of ordinary users by performing word-of-moth marketing of the users' opinions concerning about the online game.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to reduce mobile social network services (SNSs) traffic using a mobile integrated SNS gateway (MISG) to improve network communication performance between the mobile client and SNS servers. The gateway connects the client and SNS servers using the contents adapter and the web service adapter and helps to improve communication performance using its cache engine. An integrated SNS application, the user's client, communicates with the gateway server using integrated SNS protocol. In addition, the gateway can alert the client to new SNS contents because of the broker server implemented by the message queuing telemetry transport protocol. We design and develop the modules of the gateway server and the integrated SNS application. We then measure the performance of MISG in terms of content response time and describe the result of the experiment.
