겨울철 융설을 대비한 바이모달 트램 재해관리 시스템의 SWMM 모형 적용성 평가 (Evaluation of SWMM Model Adjustment for Rubber-tired Tram Disaster Management System against the Snow-melt during the Winter)

  • Increasing urban sprawl and climate changes have been causing unexpected high-intensity rainfall events. Thus there are needs to enhance conventional disaster management system for comprehensive actions to secure safety. Therefore long-term and comprehensive flood management plans need to be well established. Recently torrential snowfall are occurring frequently, causing have snow traffic jams on the road. To secure safety and on-time operation of the Bi-modal tram system, well-structured disaster management system capable of analyzing the urban flash flooding and snow pack melt/freezing due to unexpected rainfall event and snowfall are needed. To secure safety of the Bi-modal tram system due to torrential snowfall, the snow melt simulation capability was investigated. The snow accumulation and snow melt were measured to validate the SWMM snow melt component. It showed that there was a good agreement between measured snow melt data and the simulated ones. Therefore, the Bi-modal tram disaster management system will be able to predict snow melt reasonably well to secure safety of the Bi-modal tram system during the winter. The Bi-modal tram disaster management system can be used to identify top priority area for snow removal within the tram route in case of torrential snowfall to secure on-time operation of the tram. Also it can be used for detour route in the tram networks based on the disaster management system predicted data.

  • As the weather changes become frequent, weather disasters are increasing, causing more damage to plastic greenhouses. Among the damage caused by various disasters, damage by snow to the greenhouse takes a relatively long time, so if an alarm system is properly prepared, the damage can be reduced. Existing greenhouse design standards and snow warning systems are based on snow depth. However, even in the same depth, the load on the greenhouse varies depending on meteorological characteristics and snow density. Therefore, this study aims to secure the structural safety of greenhouses by developing sensors that can directly measure snow loads, and analysing the warning criteria for load using a stochastic model. Markov chain was applied to estimate the failure probability of various types of greenhouses in various regions, which let users actively cope with heavy snowfall by selecting an appropriate time to respond. Although it was hard to predict the precise snow depth or amounts, it could successfully assess the risk of structures by directly detecting the snow load using the developed sensor.

베이지안 딥러닝 기법을 이용한 확률적 적설심 예측 모델 개발 (Development of a Stochastic Snow Depth Prediction Model Using a Bayesian Deep Learning Method)

  • Heavy snow damage can be prevented in advance with an appropriate security system. To develop the security system, we developed a model that predicts snow depth after a few hours when the snow depth is observed, and utilized it to calculate a failure probability with various types of greenhouses and observed snow depth data. We compared the Markov chain model and Bayesian long short-term memory models with varying input data. Markov chain model showed the worst performance, and the models that used only past snow depth data outperformed the models that used other weather data with snow depth (temperature, humidity, wind speed). Also, the models that utilized 1-hour past data outperformed the models that utilized 3-hour data and 6-hour data. Finally, the Bayesian LSTM model that uses 1-hour snow depth data was selected to predict snow depth. We compared the selected model and the shifting method, which uses present data as future data without prediction, and the model outperformed the shifting method when predicting data after 11-24 hours.

NOAA AVHRR 영상 및 GIS 기법을 이용한 국내 주요 7개 댐 유역의 융설 매개변수 추출 (Extraction of Snowmelt Parameters using NOAA AVHRR and GIS Technique for 7 Major Dam Watersheds in South Korea)

  • 적설분포의 정확한 모니터링은 일 기상 예측, 융설 유출 모델링과 동시에 기후와 지구의 연구에 중요한 요소이다. 융설 모형의 중요 매개변수인 적설분포면적은 실제 우리나라에서 적설과 관련한 관측 자료의 부족으로 인해 매개변수 추정이 어렵다. 이러한 문제점 해결을 위해 원격탐사기법을 활용하여 적설분포면적을 추출하였다. 본 연구에서는 1997년부터 2006년까지의 겨울철 NOAA AVHRR 위성영상의 8 sets의 총 108개 영상을 이용하여 적설분포면적을 추출하였고, 기상청의 지상기상관측소의 최심적설심 자료를 이용하여 GIS 자료를 구축함으로써 적설심의 공간적 분포를 추출하였다. 이를 이용하여 국내 주요 7개 댐유역에 대한 융설모형의 주요 매개변수인 적설분포면적, 유역 평균, 최대 적설심과 적설분포면적감소곡선을 구축하였다. 시간의 경과에 따른 적설면적의 감소는 지수함수적 감소곡선으로 표현이 가능하였으며, 곡선의 결정계수($R^2$)는 0.46~0.88의 범위를 보였다. 최대적설면적에서 10일이 경과하면 적설면적은 70-100% 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

중량식 원형 적설판 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Weight Type Rounded Snow Plate)

  • We need water equivalent unit data of snowfall for the purpose of forecast and hydrology related research area. This study developed new method of automatic recording snowfall as weight unit with circle type plate using stain-gauge loadcell. Field test of instrument carried out at Daegwallyeong Obs. Station from 20 to 23 Jan. 2008 during heavy snowfall. There is 74.2cm snow depth and 54.6mm precipitation by Daegwallyeong Obs. Station. But the instrument of this study recorded 71.0mm of precipitation amount. Because of different observation method can cause more 15.4mm than Daegwallyeong Obs. Station. But this study gives the possibility of observation of new snow fall measurement under freezing conditions of snow. From the observation data the density of snowfall calculated from 0.09 to $1015g/cm_3$ from the observation period. And have a good relations between manual observation and automatic observation data from this study instrument with slope of 1.35 to 1.39.

퍼지 룰베이스에 의한 전선착설 예측 및 대책 지원 기법 (Fuzzy Rulebase Application for Estimation of Snow Accretion on Power Lines and Deicing Countermeasure Plan)

  • Making deicing countermeasure plan against snow accretion on power line is a very complicated problem, which should take into account both the possibility of accidents due to snow accretion on power line and the stable operation of power system. As knowledge engineering can be a good solution to this field of problems, a prototype expert system to assist power system operators in forecasting snow accretion on power lines and making a list of all the feasible and effective deicing countermeasures has been developed. The system has been remodelled into a fuzzy expert system by adopting fuzzy rulebase and fuzzy inference method to systematically process the fuzziness included in the heuristic knowledges. Simulation results based on the past snow accretion accident data show that the proposed system is very promising.

제설 기능을 갖는 LED 신호등 렌즈 개발 (Development of LED Traffic Light Lens with snow removing function)

  • It is necessary to develop an LED traffic light lens having a snow removal function capable of clearly providing a traffic signal to the driver even when a traffic light is blurred due to heavy snow and wind in the winter season. This study is focused on the research and development of the traffic light lens in the process of developing the LED traffic light with the snow removal function. In the developed traffic light lens, instead of attaching the film heater, the coated nichrome wire was wound into a coil shape and inserted directly into the groove in the lens. The developed heater system facilitates the insertion of the heating wire with high elasticity into a curved lens and can provide a sufficient heat without deformation of the PC lens. The proposed traffic lights were tested in various external environments and the test results showed that complete snow removal is possible without tunnel effect.

비대칭 적설하중 적용을 통한 단층 래티스 지붕 구조물의 좌굴하중 특성 (Buckling Load of Single-layered Lattice Roof Structure Considering Asymmetric Snow Load)

  • A single-layerd steel lattice roof, which has 50m span, was constructed. In order to figure out the realistic buckling load level, the structural analysis of this roof structure was performed especially by local snow load. Due to the characteristics of application of snow load, the load combinations of snow should be considered not only global area but also local part so that the critical buckling load could be observed as easy as possible. Geometrical imperfection was simulated to consider inaccurate shape of structure. And then nonlinear analysis were performed. Finally, this paper could investigate that the local snow load with geometrical imperfection decreased the level of buckling load significantly.

눈 피해 대비책 (Measures against Damages from Heavy Snow)

  • The snow brings affluence if it is dealt with appropriately. but causes huge damages if it is dealt with improperly when it snows heavily. Following with the development of road transportation, tile snow causes damages by becoming a serious obstacle for traffic, increasing traffic accidents, causing damages to the road, and requiring a lot of snow removal expense. As farming in the winter becomes flourishing, damages to agricultural facilities and farm produces caused by the snow become bigger and bigger. Now in our country, heavy snow or heavy rain is likely to fall at anywhere and at any time without restricted to a particular area. Safety first is one way of practicing human respect. Disasters will disappear from our neighborhood if we adopt prevention measures and follow them thoroughly. And also this is the shortcut to achieve a welfare society.

겨울철 기후조건을 고려한 경부고속선 설빙대책 수립방안 연구 (A Study on the Countermeasures for Accreted Snow and Ice on Seoul-Busan High-speed Line Considering the Climate Condition)

  • When trains run over a snow-covered track at high speed, the snow accereted under car bodies may drop during train running. The dropped snow/ice lumps scatter the ballast on the track damaging the car body and the environment along the track in snowy regions. In this study, the snow-fall condition in winter around the Seoul-Busan high-speed line has been investigated to yield the countermeasure for the high-speed line. The climate near Japanese and French high-speed line as well as the relationship between the climate and countermeasure has also been investigated and the direction of countermeasure for Seoul-Busan high-speed line has been deduced. Consequently, the amount and frequency of snow-fall near Seoul-Busan high-speed line is less than that of Japan and France, so the speed restriction could be the fundamental countermeasure for Seoul-Busan high-speed line, and additional measure on rolling stock and infrastructure should be followed.
