비행 중인 항공기에 발생할 수 있는 연기에 대한 인증기준 및 적합성 입증방법 (A Study on Certification Requirements and Means of Compliance about In-Flight Smoke)

  • From the beginning of aviation history, in-flight smoke/fire events have been a serious issue. As aircraft are getting larger and are becoming more auto-piloted and aircraft systems are getting more complex, it is an increasing risk of in-flight smoke/fire accidents accompanied with fire events. Therefore, we review the statistics of fire/smoke accidents in order to enhance an understanding for risk of in-flight smoke events, and present the certification requirements for smoke per KAS Part 25. In addition, we provide acceptable methods of complying with related requirements, such as smoke detection test, smoke penetration test and smoke evacuation test.

제연 TAB를 통한 철도 지하환승통로의 거실제연설비 성능평가 (A Performance Evaluation of Zone Smoke Control Systems for Railway Underground Transit Passage by Smoke Control TAB)

  • 본 연구에서는 거실제연설비가 설치된 철도 지하환승통로에 현장성능평가시험인 제연 TAB(Test, Adjusting, Balancing)를 실시하여, 제연설비 성능 확보에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 개선방안을 도출하였다. 제연 TAB는 지하환승통로의 제연설비 설계자료 분석, 제연덕트 누기테스트, 제연송풍기와 덕트의 풍량 및 풍속 측정, Smoke test로 나누어 진행되었다. 제연덕트 누기시험을 통해 누기율을 측정하여 덕트의 기밀성을 확인하였고, 흡입측 덕트 정압손실로 인한 제연풍량 부족의 문제점을 개선하여 송풍기의 성능을 확보하였다. 또한, Smoke test을 통해 예상제연구역별 제연댐퍼 동작 시 자연풍, 열차풍 영향으로 인한 문제점을 분석하고 개선하여 예상 제연구역 내 제연이 원활하게 이루어짐을 확인하였다.

철도차량용 고무바닥재의 연기발생에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Smoke Generation of Rubber Floor for Railway Vehicle)

  • In this study, we have performed the Cone Calorimeter test and Smoke density test in accordance with ISO 5660-1 and ASTM E662 respectively to check the smoke production characteristics of rubber flooring materials for railway vehicle. Early in the ASTM E662 test, more smoke was produced in the flame mode test than non-flame mode test, but later more smoke was produced in non-flame mode test. The correlation($R^2$) between TSR(Total Smoke Release) by ISO 5660-1 and Ds(Specific Optical Density) by ASTM E662 Flame mode was 0.782. The $R^2$ between TSR by ISO 5660-1 and Ds by ASTM E662 Non-flame was 0.930.

  • This paper presents the technical basis for hot smoke test intended to investigate the effectiveness of smoke ventilation system in both high-rise building and those containing atria and/or galleria. Smoke is particularly serious hazard in these building in which considerable time is required for complete evacuation. It is widely recognised that the effectiveness of large smoke ventilation system can be difficult to confirm by a critical analysis of the system design calculation. Thus a hot smoke test is recently introduced through the experiences of many attempts. Diffusion flames used for hot smoke test have a higher flame length, so that those can not be applied to small compartment. Therefore the objective of this paper is introducing the method of flame control which can be applied to any size of compartment

연기/CO 및 연기/열 복합형 IoT 멀티 화재 감지기의 화재감지실험 연구 (A Study on Fire Alarm Test of IoT Multi-Fire Detector combined Smoke/CO and Smoke/Temperature Sensors)

  • 연구목적: 연기/CO/열 복합형 화재감지기와 무선 IoT통신을 결합한 IoT 멀티화재감지기를 개발하고 화재감지 실험을 통하여 연기/CO/열 복합형 IoT 멀티화재감지기의 화재감지성능을 확인하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법: 연기/CO 복합형 과 연기/열 복합형의 IoT 멀티화재감지기를 연기발생기와 면 심지 연소를 통하여 화재감지성능을 실험하였으며, 화제 신호를 발하는 기준을 확인하였다. 연구결과: 연기/CO 복합형 IoT 멀티 화재감지기는 면심지 연소 실험에서 화재를 감지하였으나 연기발생기 실험에서는 화재를 감지하지 않았다. 반면 연기/열 복합형 IoT 멀티 화재감지기는 두 실험 모두 화재를 감지하지 않았다. 결론: 연기/CO 복합형 IoT 멀티화재감지기는 CO가 포함된 연기만을 감지하였으며, 연기/열 복합형 IoT 멀티 화재감지기는 열의 부족에 의해 화재를 잠지하지 않았다. 이와 같은 결과로 개발된 IoT 멀티 화재감지기는 면심지 연소 실험과 연기발생기 실험을 통해 2가지 센서의 기준값 이상 신호를 검출하여야 화재 신호를 발한다는 것을 확인하였다.

광투과식 매연 측정법을 이용한 소형 디젤 차량의 무부하 급가속 조건에서의 매연 배출 특성 (Characteristics of Smoke Emissions from Light Duty Diesel Vehicles Using Light Extinction Smoke Measurement Method under free Acceleration Test Mode)

  • Characteristics of smoke emission in light duty diesel vehicles was investigated according to the year of production, engine displacement volume, and mileage. The smoke emission was measured using light extinction smoke measurement method under free acceleration test mode. Total number of the tested vehicles was 180. The year of production of the tested vehicles distributed from 2002 to 2007. The displacement volumes of the tested vehicles were categorized as 2-liter, 2.5-liter, 2.7-liter, and 3-liter. The mileage of the tested vehicles distributed from 20,000 km to 400,000 km. The more recent in the year of production of the tested vehicles did not show clearly lower in smoke emissions. Smoke emission showed different values according to driver's pedal pushing pattern. Also, smoke emission peak for each free acceleration test initially increased and reach a maximum of the peak values. Afterwards, the smoke peak gradually decreased as number of test increased. A new guide line was proposed to determine the smoke value from the light duty diesel vehicles based on smoke emission peak patterns which were obtained with several repeated free acceleration tests.

지하철 본선터널 제연성능 실물 실험 (Full-Scale Test of Smoke-Control Performance of a Subway Tunnel)

  • 지하철 본선터널에서 고온 연기시험을 수행하였다. 고온의 화재연기를 모사하기 위하여 약 1.0MW의 알콜트레이 및 연기발생장치를 이용하였다. 화재발생후 9분 후에 터널내에 설치된 팬이 순차적으로 작동하여 화재 연기가 제어되는지를 확인하였다. 터널내의 주요 위치에서의 풍속, 풍향, 온도 및 연기농도 등을 측정하여 이를 화재안전 관점에서 분석하였다. 화재 인근의 천장부분의 풍속 측정값으로 연기의 속도를 구하였으며, 위치별 제연기류가 형성되는 시간이 상이한 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 계측된 풍속분포를 이용하여 지하철 본선터널 제연설비 성능 평가를 위한 수치해석의 경계값 및 비교결과로 활용될 것이다.

분진을 이용한 연기감지기 신뢰성 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Reliability Analysis for Smoke Detector using Dust)

  • This paper presents a study on the analyzing reliability of smoke fire detector using accelerated life test. In general, the smoke fire detector is broken by dust which flow in smoke detection chamber. In order to conduct accelerated life test of smoke fire detector dust is set accelerated factor in this paper. The dust is fly-ash which is test particle 5th regulated by KS A 0090. The dust accelerated level is 60 g, 180 g and 360 g and failure time is measured by smoke sensitivity testing. It is considered to failure of detector if detector don't operate within 30 secconds when subjected to an air stream having a velocity of 20 cm/s~40 cm/s containing smoke with a concentration of 15% of rate of light-response of 1 m. The goodness of fit test and mean life prediction conduct using the failure time. The result show that life distribution fits the weibull distribution for failure time data and the mean lifes calculate 22.5 year in domestic product and 14.7 years in overseas product applied dust stress only.

무부하 급가속 측정 사이클로 운전되는 검사 대상 디젤 차량으로부터 배출되는 매연값 적분에 의한 차량 매연 대표값 특성 연구 (A Study on Evaluating a Representative Smoke Value from an Inspection Vehicle Using Integration Method over a Cycle of Free-Acceleration Test Mode)

  • Smoke emissions from light duty diesel vehicles were measured using light extinction method with the free acceleration test mode. The smoke emissions for each measurement cycle of the free acceleration method showed large variations according to driver's pedal pushing pattern. The smoke values for each measurement cycle initially increased and reach a peak value. Integration of the smoke emissions with time for each measurement cycle was performed to get a representative smoke value which was obtained by averaging the integrated results. Two kinds of integration time range were used. One is range over the whole measurement cycle of the free acceleration method. The other is only the acceleration range in the measurement cycle. Overall, variation of the representative smoke values obtained by the integration method was reduced comparing to the traditional representative smoke value which was obtained from a peak smoke value over the measurement cycle. Ten vehicles of the same model with 2.5 liter diesel engines, and seven vehicles of the same model with 2.7 liter diesel engines, were tested using the free acceleration test method.

  • Kinds of Sound & Thermal Insulator are being used for materials of railroad vehicles as a barrier of beat and noise. Glass Wool, PE foam, PP foam are such kinds of materials. In case of fire, it shows various combustion properties. In this study, we compared the Smoke Density of the Rubber Foam Insulator by test between Cone-Calorimeter and Smoke Density-Chamber. The results showed that the Rubber Foam Insulator had an important role in the insulator thickness and the test method, We forecast the smoke density by test between Cone-Calorimeter and Smoke Density-Chamber.
