  • In this paper we propose a human body tracking method for application of smartphones. The conventional human body tracking method is divided into a sensor-based method and a vision-based method. The sensor-based methods have a weakness in that tracking accuracy is low due to cumulative error of position information. The vision-based method has no cumulative error, but it requires reduction of the computational complexity for application of smartphone. In this paper we use the improved HOG algorithm as a human body tracking method for application of smartphone. The improved HOG algorithm is implemented through downsampling and frame sampling. Gaussian pyramid is applied for downsampling, and uniform sampling is applied for frame sampling. We measured the proposed algorithm on two devices, four resolutions, and four frame sampling intervals. We derive the best detection rate among downsampling and frame sampling parameters that can be applied in realtime.

  • It is known that the smart education has a positive impact of critical thinking skills and problem solving, communication and collaboration, creativity and innovation in the 21st century. However, some people concern about the adverse effects of smart education such as smart devices addiction and health problems. In this study, we conducted the adverse effects of education using smart devices on students. The questionnaire survey was conducted and analyzed for students in 9 schools at A city(four elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools) that are receiving smart education. The types of adverse effects of smart education includes smartphone addiction, lack of information ethics, health problems, and lack of social and learning ability. We showed the differences each item compared among elementary school, middle school and high school about adverse effects of smart education. The result of survey didn't have any adverse affect of smart education such as internet addiction or smartphone addiction. However in order to protect the copyright, the school needs to fight against indiscriminated downloads and perform the information ethics education. Plus we surely need to be more open-minded in reading and exercise at school and home.

  • Construal level theory (CLT) have been researched in wide range of disciplines such as marketing, organizational study, psychology, or education. Current study asserts that CLT would explain the effect of different devices of PC and smartphone on interaction between human-computer interfaces and information systems use. In CLT, those who are far from an object in terms of physical, temporal, social or psychological distance, they construe their understanding as abstract (high level) and vice versa. We hypothesized different size of digital device will increase psychological distance and result in behaviors that correspond to present construal level. The analysis result shows that users of PC recognized that they are socially distant from the device and those of smartphone felt that they are socially close to the device. However, the device did not have significant effect on attention to essential information, advertisement preference, and immediacy. The implication to academia, practice and future research and limitations are also discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to raise validity of the result through using national data, to analyze the effect of children's smartphone addiction on aggression and moderating effect of parenting styles on the relationship between children's smartphone addiction and aggression. The data were obtained from 4th waves of KCYPS(Korean Children Youth Panel Study), and 1,686 4th graders in elementary schools who have smartphone were analysed. To achieve the purpose, this study executed frequency analysis, descriptive statistic, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis through SPSS 21.0. The results of this study are as follows: First, the higher children's smartphone addiction level, the higher children's aggression goes. Second, parents' supervision, affection, neglect have moderating effects on the relationship between children's smartphone addiction and aggression which means parenting styles could reduce children's aggression despite serious smartphone addiction. Based on these results, this study suggests that the combination of preventive discipline of smartphone addiction and parental education program is needed to reduce children's aggression which is main factor of bullying. In addition, this study suggests the establishment of special arrangement such as 'shut down' for smartphone addiction prevention.
