  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the site selection of U-library in Daejeon. For this study, through literature research and analysis of the current status of U-library in Korea, evaluation indicators for the site selection are derived, and based on this, the location of the public library, the radius of the proposed location, the transport performance by subway station, government offices, transportation facilities, convenience facilities, the current status of major facilities and the number of residents by region were analyzed and applied. Finally, based on the analysis results, a total of 16 U-library locations were proposed in the five autonomous districts in Daejeon: 2 in Daedeok-gu, 2 in Dong-gu, 4 in Seo-gu, 6 in Yuseong-gu, and 2 in Jung-gu.

  • The introduction of video conferencing service, the core service of smart work is activated mostly at the public organizations and large companies according to the government's recent strategy to promote the introduction of smart work. However, as a variety of products of major foreign and small domestic companies have installed in case of the domestic introduction of video conferencing, it is very urgent and important to secure interoperability among newly installed equipments as well as installed equipments. In addition, as the requirement of market situation has changed from securing interoperability only among the video conferencing systems of the same company to doing the interoperability among the various formed products of a plurality of companies, it is required to develop the standard to enable inter-working. Therefore, in this paper we propose the standardization directions in securing the interoperability of platform specifications through the standards development for interoperability profile among video conferencing systems and services.

  • The present study explored factors that influence consumers' benefit expectancy about telemedicine service. Responses from a national online survey of 927 adults (aged 19-59), collected in January 2016, were analyzed with multiple regression analysis. The results revealed: (1) Health consciousness positively influenced all three benefit expectancies (all ps < .05); (2) Doctor-patient communication efficacy positively influenced expectancy for convenience improvement (${\beta}=.107$, p < .01) and service quality improvement (${\beta}=.086$, p < .05); (3) Use of health-related smart applications contributed to positive expectancy for service quality improvement (${\beta}=.081$, p < .05) and cost-saving (${\beta}=.067$, p < .05). Some of the relationships were moderated by gender and residence. This convergence study, which examined public's perception about telemedicine from the perspectives of consumer psychology, media, and public health, provides practical implications to promote telemedicine service and educate consumers about it.

  • This study would investigate the generative AIs currently in service in the era of hyperscale AIs and explore measures for the use of generative AIs, focusing on 'ChatGPT,' which has received attention as a leader of generative AIs. Among the various generative AIs, this study selected ChatGPT, which has rich application cases to conduct research, investigation, and use. This study investigated the concept, learning principle, and features of ChatGPT, identified the algorithm of conversational AI as one of the specific cases and checked how it is used. In addition, by comparing various cases of the application of conversational AIs such as Google's Bard and MS's NewBing, this study sought efficient ways to utilize them through the collected cases and conducted research on the limitations of conversational AI and precautions for its use. If connected to city-related databases, it can provide information on city infrastructure, transportation systems, and public services, so residents can easily get the information they need. We want to apply this research to enrich the lives of our citizens.

  • The fact that the limits of information recency, diversity, and usability are mainly caused by the supply oriented geospatial data and service development is commonly recognized. It is recently tried to overcome the limits by facilitating user experience and VGI(Volunteered Geographic Information) in several geospatial web services. This study suggests 10C framework of geospatial web service for VGI through review and examination of previous research. Based on the 10C framework, the value chain system of 23 use cases relevant to the geospatial web service involving the creation of user's VGI is investigated. The result of the value chain analysis is applied to examine and formulate the strategies to generate value addition from public spatial information with respect to creation, aggregation, delivery, and consumption process of VGI.

  • Multicultural family members have difficulty in educating their children due to language differences. In order to solve these difficulties, it is necessary to provide smart translation services that enable them easily and quickly access real-life vocabularies. However, the current automatic translation technology is being developed in dominant languages such as English, Chinese, and Japanese. There are also limitations to translating special-purpose terms such as documents of schools and instructions of public institutions. In this study, we propose a real-time automatic word translation service for multicultural family members who understand beginner level Korean. The service automatically analyzes the semantics of each word in the Korean sentences and provides a word-by-word translation. This study includes semantic analysis research for Korean language, building multilingual translation knowledge, and fusion study of language education. We evaluated the word translation service for migrant women from Vietnam and Japan and obtained meaningful evaluation results.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships among social participation, self-rated health status, self-esteem and daily life satisfaction of the elderly with disabilities. It especially focused on the mediating effects of self-rated health status and self-esteem on the relationship between social participation and daily life satisfaction. Methods : From the fifth panel survey of employment for the disabled, data for 518 elderly over age of 65 were analyzed with SPSS 22.0, SmartPLS 2.0 M3 and the Sobel test. Results : First, social participation of the elderly with disabilities had a positive influence on the self-rated health status and self-esteem. The direct effect of self-rated health status and self-esteem on daily life satisfaction was statistically significant. However, the influence of social participation on daily life satisfaction was not statistically significant. Second, the self-rated health status and self-esteem had a mediating effect on the relationship between social participation and daily life satisfaction. Conclusions : This study shows that it is important to provide an integrated social participation support program that coincides with a variety of social programs to elderly with disabilities.

  • With the rapid development of wireless communication, the confliction between the scarce frequency resources and the low spectral efficiency caused by the stationary spectrum sharing strategies seriously restricts the evolution of the future mobile communication. For this purpose, cognitive radio (CR) emerges as one of the most promising inventions which can overcome the spectrum shortage. As the key technology and main objective of CR, spectrum sharing can make full use of the limited spectrum, alleviate the scarcity of frequency resources and improve the system utilities, playing thereby an important role in improving the system performance of cognitive radio networks (CRNs). In this survey, the spectrum sharing in CRNs is discussed in terms of the sharing process, mainstream sharing technologies and spectrum sharing models. In particular, comparisons of different spectrum sharing strategies are concluded, as well as that of different spectrum sensing schemes in sharing procedure. Moreover, some application examples of the spectrum sharing in CRNs, such as smart grid, public safety, cellular network and medical body area networks are also introduced. In addition, our previous related works are presented and the open research issues in the field of spectrum sharing are stated as well.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore awareness of food tourism using big data analysis. For this, this study collected data containing 'food tourism' keywords from google web search, google news, and google scholar during one year from January 1 to December 31, 2016. Data were collected by using SCTM (Smart Crawling & Text Mining), a data collecting and processing program. From those data, degree centrality and eigenvector centrality were analyzed by utilizing packaged NetDraw along with UCINET 6. The result showed that the web visibility of 'core service' and 'social marketing' was high. In addition, the web visibility was also high for destination, such as rural, place, ireland and heritage; 'socioeconomic circumstance' related words, such as economy, region, public, policy, and industry. Convergence of iterated correlations showed 4 clustered named 'core service', 'social marketing', 'destinations' and 'social environment'. It is expected that this diagnosis on food tourism according to changes in international business environment by using these web information will be a foundation of baseline data useful for establishing food tourism marketing strategies.
