  • DC and small-signal ac characteristics are examined for a pulse-width modulated (PWM) dc-dc buck-boost converter with a peak voltage modulation (PVM) feedforward control. Circuit model is used to derive an expression for the output voltage in terms of the input voltage and load resistance. Small-signal circuit model is used to derive the input-to-output voltage transfer function (audiosusceptibility).

  • This paper describes a initial screening methods for weak line selection using sensitivity matrix. The elements of sensitivity matrix for line suceptance have 1 or -1, 0. From this property of sensitivity matrix, the eigen-sensitivity for line suceptance can be computed very simply and selected weak line for small signal stability or transient stability. The proposed algorithm is applied to small signal stability of New England 39-bus system and also applied to voltage stability of New England 30-bus system too.

  • It is the most important in small signal stability analysis of large scale Power systems to compute only the dominant eigenvalues selectively with numerical stability and efficiency. In this Paper evoluted linear analysis program, transformed state matrix using Inverse transformation with complex shift and then Hessenberg process and iterative scheme are used to accelerate Hessenberg process, can calculate dominant eigenvalues. In this Paper, The accuracy of this Program has been validated against 4-machines 11-bus system and New England 10-machines 39-bus system. Also applied to KEPCO system - about 791-bus 250-machines 2500-branches, got 2568 order state matrix, and calculated two dominant modes. This analysis result equaled to result of EPRI's SSSP program to use commonly, and calculating time is faster.

  • This paper represents how to reduce the computer time in small signal stability analysis by selecting the dominant oscillation modes with frequency of 0.5 to 1.2 Hz using the clustering technique. Clustering technique links the buses which are expected to be similar with zero-impedance lines and the voltage variations of these buses are regarded to be identical. The computer time was reduced remarkably with this technique and the effect of clustering will be powerful in the analysis of large-scale power systems.

  • An analytical 2-dimensional model to explain the small signal and noise properties of an AlGaN/GaN modulation doped field effect transistor has been developed. The model is based on the solution of two-dimensional Poisson's equation. The developed model explains the influence of Noise in ohmic region (Johnson noise or Thermal noise) as well as in saturated region (spontaneous generation of dipole layers in the saturated region). Small signal parameters are obtained and are used to calculate the different noise parameters. All the results have been compared with the experimental data and show an excellent agreement and the validity of our model.

  • In this paper, a simple and improved noise parameter model of RF MOSFETs is developed and verified. Based on the analytical model of channel thermal noise, closed form expressions for four noise parameters are developed from proposed equivalent small signal circuit. The modeling results show a excellent agreement with the measured data of $0.13{\mu}m$ CMOS devices.

  • TCSC can not only increase power flow but also damp low frequency oscillation by controlling firing angles of thyristors. But, a model considering voltage, current firing angles is not derived. This paper used a small signal model considirng these variables which was derived in paper [1]. TCSC model is combined with swing equation. Being related to rotor angles and firing angles of thyristors, current and synchronizing torque coefficient is reformulated. Because firing angles of thyristors can be controlled only twice within one period, swing equation is transformed to discrete time model. It is shown that low frequency oscillation can be damped by controlling firing angles in one machine infinite bus power system.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel on-chip test logic for TSV fault detection in 3-dimensional integrated circuits. The proposed logic called OTT realizes the input signal delay-based TSV test method introduced earlier. OTT only includes one F/F, two MUXs, and some additional logic for signal delay. Thus, it requires small silicon area suitable for TSV testing. Both pre-bond and post-bond TSV tests are able to use OTT for short or open fault as well as small delay fault detection.

  • Of all the proposed resonant techniques, the well-known phase-shifted full bridge converter remains one of the most attractive because it offers an easy way of achieving ZVS with a minimum of extra components added, which is essential for the high power applications. This paper describes the design of a digital controller for a Phase Shifted Full-bridge PWM Converter. The small-signal model is derived incorporating the effects of phase-shift control and the utilization of the transformer leakage inductance and power FET junction capacitances to achieve the zero-voltage resonant switching. Based on the derived small-signal model, the digital controller is designed in the discrete domain. The performance of designed controller is verified through the simulation.

  • This paper presents dynamic analyses and control design of the current-mode controlled active-clamp forward-flyback converter. The circuit averaging technique is used to extract the small-signal circuit model for the power stage From the small-signal circuit model of the power stage, the open-loop transfer functions are derived and used for the compensation design. The analysis results are verified using an experimental converter that delivers a 3.3V/10A output from a $40\~60V$ input source.
