The efficiency of an adder which plays an important role in micro-process and DSP greatly depends on the kinds of carry generation method. So in this paper. I used both CLA excellent in the speed and CSA best in the chip-size. The 64bit adder is designed with high speed which is two optimum combination. Therefore this paper suggested the way of CLSA improving both speed and chip-size. and proved the excellence of the designed circuit.
Determining the optimal levels of the technical attributes (TAs) of a product to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction is the main activity in the planning process for quality function deployment (QFD). In real applications, the number of customer requirements for developing a single product is quite large, and the number of converted TAs is also high so the size of the house of quality (HoQ) becomes huge. Furthermore, the TA levels are often discrete instead of continuous and the product market can be divided into several market segments corresponding to the number of HoQ, which also unacceptably increases the size of the QFD optimization problem and the time spent on making decisions. This paper proposed a genetic algorithm (GA) solution approach to finding the optimum set of TAs in QFD in the above situation. A numerical example is provided for illustrating the proposed approach. To assess the computational performance of the GA, tests were performed on problems of various sizes using a fractional factorial design.

This study is to systematically analyze the effect of various kinds of design factors on the performance of stratified thermal storage tank. Taguchi method, known as a very reasonable tool in the parametric study, is employed in the present work. Three dimensional unsteady numerical experiment is conducted for 4 design parameters of stratified thermal storage tank: inlet Reynolds number, Froude number, diffuser size d with 3 levels (Re=400, 800, 1200, Fr=0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and d=150 mm, 200mm, 300 mm) and diffuser shape with 2 levels. Orthogonal array $L_{18}(2{\times}3^7)$ is adopted for the analysis of variance. The result gives quantitative estimation of the various design parameters affecting the performance and helps to select the main factors for the optimum design of stratified thermal storage tank. Reynolds number is found to be the most dominant parameter and the diffuser shape plays significant role on the performance of stratified thermal storage tank. Based on this finding, the prior questions on the contribution of the diffuser shape proposed by the authors become clear. The optimum condition for the performance is a set of d=300mm, Re=800, and radial regulated plate diffuser. Conformation test shows the repeatability in the analysis and $1.3\%$ difference between the estimated thermocline thickness and that of numerical result.
The design and analysis of satellite power subsystem is an important driver for the mass, size, and capability of the satellite. Every other satellite subsystem is affected by the power subsystem, and in particular, important issues such as launch vehicle selection, thermal design, and structural design are largely influenced by the capabilities and limitations of the power system. This paper introduces a new electrical power subsystem design program for the rapid development of LEO satellite and shows an example of design results using other LEO satellite design data. The results shows that the proposed design program can be used the optimum sizing and the analytical prediction of the on-orbit performance of satellite electrical power subsystem.

Installation design methods and results of an aircraft engine on the wing-mounted-nacelle type aircraft has been presented in this paper. The design process starts from design requirements and constraints and covers some major aspects of the engine installation design such as wing-nacelle interference drag, roll clearance, ground clearance, nose gear collapse margin, rotor burst and fuel tank capacity. The method was applied to 100-seat class airplane(K100). Results of the design suggest optimum nacelle location and nacelle installation angle(toe-in, incidence, droop angle) which satisfies in stalled engine performance and size/location of wing dry day.

In this paper, the design method of the meander-coupled Wilkinson power divider with slit is proposed. Because the electrical performance of this structure is varied with each coupling distance and the slit's size, a tedious design work, which is done by trial and error correction, is required to determine the values of parameters for the best suitable operation. To solve this problems, therefore, an experimental design formulas for optimum performance are presented by curve fitting, under the desired center frequency($f_0$). As the example using the proposed design equation, we designed and fabricated the meander-coupled divider at $f_0$=1.5 GHz. It has better electrical performance and measured results also agrees very well that of the simulated. From these observation, it can be concluded that the obtained design formulas are useful for design of this divider.

The paper describes the improvement on concurrent subspace optimization(CSSO) via automatic differentiation. CSSO is an efficient strategy to coupled multidisciplinary design optimization(MDO), wherein the original design problem is non-hierarchically decomposed into a set of smaller, more tractable subspaces. Key elements in CSSO are consisted of global sensitivity equation, subspace optimization, optimum sensitivity analysis, and coordination optimization problem that require frequent use of 1st order derivatives to obtain design sensitivity information. The current version of CSSO adopts automatic differentiation scheme to provide a robust sensitivity solution. Automatic differentiation has numerical effectiveness over finite difference schemes tat require the perturbed finite step size in design variable. ADIFOR(Automatic Differentiation In FORtran) is employed to evaluate sensitivities in the present work. The use of exact function derivatives facilitates to enhance the numerical accuracy during the iterative design process. The paper discusses how much the automatic differentiation based approach contributes design performance, compared with traditional all-in-one(non-decomposed) and finite difference based approaches.

A focal length-correcting lens called the F-theta lens is required to compensate for the different focus on spot size due to the deflected incident laser beam. The F-theta lens was designed by the ray tracing method and fabricated by a 3D printer with polymer-based material. The designed F-theta lens is able to compensate for the focus on spot size by an incidence angle of 0 to 2 degrees. Based on the analysis of the simulation, there was almost no aberration in the $0^{\circ}C$ incidence angle, and the maximum of $50{\mu}m$ of aberration was observed at the incidence angle of $2^{\circ}$. Diffraction-encircled energy was analyzed to characterize the designed optics, and an image simulation was performed to confirm the actual image resolution.

The mold transformers have been widely used in underground substations in large building and have some advantages in comparison to oil-transformer, that is low fire risk, excellent environmental compatibility, compact size and high reliability. In addition, the application of mold transformer for outdoor is possible due to development of epoxy resin. The mold transformer generally has cooling duct between low voltage coil and high voltage coil. A mold transformer made by one body molding method has been developed for small size and low loss. The life of transformer is significantly dependent on the thermal behavior in windings. To analyse winding temperature rise, many transformer designer have calculated temperature distribution and hot spot point by finite element method(FEM). Recently, numerical analyses of transformer are studied for optimum design, that is electric field analysis, magnetic field, potential vibration, thermal distribution and thermal stress. In this paper, the temperature distribution of 50 kVA pole mold transformer for power distribution are investigated by FEM program and the temperature rise test of designed mold transformer carried out and test result is analyzed compare to simulation data. In this result, the designed mold transformer is satisfied to limit value of temperature and the other property is good such as voltage ratio, winding resistance, no-load loss, load loss, impedance voltage and percent regulation.
The compaction equipment and the Marshall stability head are the two important testing equipment for the Marshall test. The compaction equipment is closely related to the air void, VMA and compactability of the mixtures, and the stability head is related to the Marshall stability and the flow, therefore the size and the shape of the equipment is essential for finding the accurate optimum asphalt content for the asphalt mix design. However, the size and the shape of the equipment currently used and the condition of the installation of compaction pedestal in this country are different from each agency and manufacturer. The national inspection of the Marshall equipment is necessary because the difference can affect the test results and also the performance of the asphalt pavement.
