  • This paper presents two topologies for single-stage single-phase double-buck type PFC converters, designed to operate at high power factor, near sinusoidal input currents and adjustable output voltage. Unlike the known buck type PFC topologies, in which the output voltage is always lower than the maximum input voltage, the proposed converters can operate at output voltages higher than the ac input peak voltage. A reduced number of switches on the main path of the current are another characteristic of the two proposed topologies. To shape the input line currents, a fast and robust controller based on a sliding mode approach is proposed. This active non-linear control strategy, applied to these converters allows high quality input currents. A Proportional Integral (PI) controller is adopted to regulate the output voltage of the converters. This external voltage controller modulates the amplitude of the sinusoidal input current references. The performances of the presented rectifiers are verified with experimental results.

  • This paper presents a simple current control strategy for matrix converters based on the extension of PWM method for inverters. A novel and efficient PWM algorithm is developed. The algorithm is verified through simulation and experiments employing a 2-kVA prototype. The results of simulation and experiment prove the instantaneous control capability of the output current with the sinusoidal input current.

  • In this paper we study the convergence behavior of the least mean fourth(LMF) algorithm where the error raised to the power of four is minimized for a multiple sinusoidal input and Gaussian measurement noise. Here we newly obtain the convergence equation for the sum of the mean of the squared weight errors, which indicates that the transient behavior can differ depending on the relative sizes of the Gaussian noise and the convergence constant. It should be noted that no similar results can be expected from the previous analysis by Walach add Widrow.

  • This paper is proposed a sinusoidal input voltage Multi-level AC-DC Converter using transformer. In this paper Multi-level PWM Control converter which controls input current by combining buck Converters together to improve input current characteristic, and confirmed its validity throughout simulation and experiment. This method, which is multiplying and duplicating output of converter of equal capacity, is able to control unit power factor of input current, reduce the problem caused by high frequency switching, and apply to high power converter because filter is not necessary.

  • The problems of power factor and harmonics are occurred in converter system which used to SCRs and diodes as power semiconductor devices IGBT was solved that problem, maintain the input line current with sinusoidal wave current of input power source voltage. In this paper, three phase AC to DC boost converter that operates with unity power factor and sinusoidal input currents is presented. The current control of the converter is based on the space vector PWM strategy with fixed switching frequency and the input current tracks the reference current within one sampling time interval. Space vector PWM strategy for current control was materialized as a digital control method. By using this control strategy low ripples in the output voltage, low harmonics in the input current and fast dynamic responses are achieved with a small capacitance in the dc link.

  • The response of a single-mode fiber to a sinusoidally modulated input has been studied to see its utility in measuring system performance in the presence of fiber nonlinearities. The sinusoidally modulated signal models an alternating bit sequence of ones and zeros in on-off keying. The sinusoidal response of normally dispersive fiber shows a strong correlation with eye-opening penalty (EOP) over a wide range of the nonlinearity parameter N (0.1 < N$^2$< 100). This result implies that the measurement of the sinusoidal response can be an alternate way of measuring EOP without having a long sequence of randomly modulated input bits. But in the anomalous dispersion region, the sinusoidal response has a much more limited range of application to estimate system performance.

  • In this paper, a new active interphase reactor for twelve-pulse diode rectifiers is proposed. The proposed system draws near sinusoidal currents from the utility. In this scheme, a low kVA(0.02 $P_o$ (PU)) active current source injects a triangular current into an interphase reactor of a twelve-pulse diode rectifier. The modification results in near sinusoidal input current with less than 1% THD. Experimental results are provided from a 208V, 10kVA rectifier system.

  • Rectifiers of power conversion system are widely used condenser at input to be cheap and to be simple construction. But this method is produced harmonics of pulse at peak value of input AC voltage. The main circuit which make input current of a sinusoidal wave and improve power-factor is almost taken step-up converter. This paper is able to obtain high power-factor and efficiency because the input current is made sinusoidal wave in single phase alternating current(AC) source. Also the proposed converter is able to minimize switching loss by ZVCS(zero voltage switching and zero current switching).

  • In this paper, authors propose novel boost AC-DC converter of high power factor and analyze for waveform and harmonics component of input current. The input current waveform in the proposed converter is got to be a sinusoidal form of discontinuous pulse in proportion to magnitude of at input voltage under the constant duty cycle switching. Therefore, input power factor is nearly unity. Particularly, the stored energy of loss-less snubber capacitor is recovered with input side and increases input current from resonant operation. The result is that input power factor of the proposed converter is higher than that of conventional converter of high power factor. Some simulative results on computer and experimental results are included to confirm the validity of the analytical results.
