Removal of gas in a mold has been a big problem in pressing mold or in injection mold. Air vent has been used to solve the problem, but it has weak points such as the Increased cost, the increased number of process. and vent marks on the surface of a product. In this study, the sintering method and rapid tooling method are used for making porous metal mold. Porous metal mold has many open pores, which are very small. When porous metal mold is used for pressing mold or injection mold, all process would be made short, produce cost would be down, and vent marks would be not leaved on the surface of a product. Characteristic of Porous material varies from sintering conditions, which are the length of sintering time, sintering temperature and sintering atmosphere etc. This study will find optimized sintering condition for the porous metal mold.
The objective of this study was to investigate the sintering behavior, crystallization characteristic of glass-ceramic and optimal sintering condition on the glass/ceramic composite for fabricating substrate of LTCC. Glass/ceramic composite was made from alumina powder and glass frit, which was composed of SiO2-TiO2-RO-PbO/(R: Ba, Sr, Ca), and was sintered for 0, 30, 60minutes in the temperature range from 700$^{\circ}C$ to 1000$^{\circ}C$. Properties of frit and glass/ceramic compsoite were analyzed by DTA, XRD, SEM and Network Analyzer and so on. Main sintering mechanism was densification occurred above 730$^{\circ}C$ by viscous flow and crystallization starting about 780$^{\circ}C$ affected sintering also. So viscous flow was affected by sintering temperature, duration time, and creation of crystallization phase etc. From this study, it was possible to fabricate glass/ceramic composite by changing sintering temperature and duration time.

In this study, liquid phase sintered SiC (LPS-SiC) materials were made by hot pressing method. The particle size of nano-SiC powder was 30nm. Alumina ($Al_2O_3$), yttria ($Y_2O_3$) and silica ($SiO_2$) were used for sintering additives. To investigate effects of $SiO_2$, ratios of $SiO_2$ contents were changed by five kinds. Materials have been sintered for 1 hour at $1760^{\circ}C$, $1780^{\circ}C$ and $1800^{\circ}C$ under the pressure of 20MPa. The system of sintering additives which affects a property of sintering as well as the influence depending on compositions of sintering additives were investigated by measurement of density, mechanical properties such as flexural strength, vickers hardness and sliding wear resistance were investigated to make sure of the optimum condition which is about matrix of $SiC_f$/SiC composites. The abrasion test condition apply to load of 20N at 100RPM for 20min. Sintered density, flexural strength of fabricated LPS-SiC increased with increasing the sintering temperature. And in case of LPS-SiC with low $SiO_2$, sliding wear resistance has very excellent. Monolithic SiC $1800^{\circ}C$ sintering temperatures and 3wt% have excellent wear resistance.

In this paper, the low-temperature sintering of $TiO_2$ is approached to solve the problem of high temperature sintering which decreases the interconnection between particles or between substrate and particle. $TiO_2$ paste is prepared with Titanium (IV) isopropoxide as the precursor material and calcinate at different conditions (low temperature). In the results, since the changing of temperature and time of sintering, crystalline phase do not change and the intensities of anatase, rutile phase are higher. At $110^{\circ}C$, 7 h sintering condition, crystalline size of anatase and rutile phase are the smallest which are 13.07 and 17.47 nm, respectively. In addition, the highest zeta potential is about 32.77 mV and the repulsive force increases thus leading to the best of the dispersion characteristics between $TiO_2$ particles. Futhermore, DSSCs at that condition exhibits the highest efficiency with the values of $V_{oc}$, $J_{sc}$, FF and ${\eta}$ are 0.69 V, $8.60mA\;cm^{-2}$, 67.93% and 4.06%, respectively.

Phase stability of tetragonal crystals in yttria-stabilized zirconia ceramics is dependent on the content of yttria and the heat-treatment condition, related with mechanical properties. In this study, we fabricated the 1.5 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia (1.5Y-YSZ) ceramics by cold isostatic pressing (CIP) and post-sintering at temperature range of 1200 to 1350℃ for 2 hours and investigated the sintered properties and microstructural evolution. Sintered and microstructural parameters, i.e, apparent density, grain size and phase composition of 1.5Y-YSZ ceramics were mainly dependent on the sintering temperature. Maximum sintered density of 99.4 % and average grain size of 200-300 nm could be obtained from the heat-treatment condition above sintering temperature at 1300℃ for 2 hours, possessing the superior mechanical hardness with 1200 Hv. However, phase stability of tetragonal grains in 1.5 YSZ ceramics is very low, inducing the phase transformation to monoclinic crystals on specimen surface during cooling after heat-treatment.
Ni$_3$Al intermetallic compound has been tested as a binder phase, in order to improve the oxidation resistance and the mechanical properties of TiC-Ni cermet at a high temperature. The wettability of $Ni_3Al$ on TiC and the optimum sintering condition were investigated in TiC-(30, 40) vol% $Ni_3Al$ cermets with the sintering temperature (1380~$1430^{\circ}C$) and time (30~99 min). The results are summarized as follows: 1) Ni$_3$Al showed good wettability on TiC above 1400$^{\circ}C$ ; 2) The shrinkages of the specimens increased with the sintering temperature, the sintering time and the binder content, whereas the relative densities were decreased; 3) Any other phase did not appeared in the microstructures of all sintered cermets. The grain sizes of TiC became larger as the sintering temperature and the sintering time as well as the binder content increased; 4) The hardness of the cermets decreased with increase in the sintering temperature and the sintering time as well as the binder content; 5) The transverse-rupture strength of the cermets increased with the sintering temperature and the sintering time, whereas it decreased with the binder content.

Ceramic-Metal Functionally Graded Materials (FGM) are of great interest for application as Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC) or Wear Resistant Coating (WRC). Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) is a promising techniques for time-saving consolidation of laminated/graduated powder systems: SPS is a pressure-assisted electrical sintering method which directly applies a pulsed DC current as heat source. In the present work, production of $Al_2O_3-Ni$ FGMs by means of Spark Plasma Sintering is considered; effect of sintering condition on density, hardness and fracture toughness is studied. Problems correlated to this new processing technology are discussed.

Two sintering methods of a pressureless sintering and a spark-plasma sintering are tested to densify the Fe-TiC composite powders which are fabricated by high-energy ball-milling. A powder mixture of Fe and TiC is prepared in a planetary ball mill at a rotation speed of 500 rpm for 1h. Pressureless sintering is performed at 1100, 1200 and $1300^{\circ}C$ for 1-3 hours in a tube furnace under flowing argon gas atmosphere. Spark-plasma sintering is carried out under the following condition: sintering temperature of $1050^{\circ}C$, soaking time of 10 min, sintering pressure of 50 MPa, heating rate of $50^{\circ}C$, and in a vacuum of 0.1 Pa. The curves of shrinkage and its derivative (shrinkage rate) are obtained from the data stored automatically during sintering process. The densification behaviors are investigated from the observation of fracture surface and cross-section of the sintered compacts. The pressureless-sintered powder compacts show incomplete densification with a relative denstiy of 86.1% after sintering at $1300^{\circ}C$ for 3h. Spark-plasma sintering at $1050^{\circ}C$ for 10 min exhibits nearly complete densification of 98.6% relative density under the sintering pressure of 50 MPa.
Aluminum nitride (AlN) has excellent thermal conductivity, whereas it has some disadvantage such as low sinterability. In this study, the effects of sintering additive content and sintering condition on thermal conductivity of pressureless sintered AlN ceramics were examined on the variables of 1~3 wt% sintering additive ($Y_2O_3$) content at $1900^{\circ}C$ in $N_2$ atmosphere with holding time of 2~10 h. All AlN specimens showed higher thermal conductivity as the $Y_2O_3$ content and holding time increase. The formation of secondary phases (yttrium aluminates) by reaction of $Y_2O_3$ and $Al_2O_3$ from AlN surface promoted the thermal conductivity of AlN specimens, because the secondary phases could reduce the oxygen contents in AlN lattice. Also, thermal conductivity was increased by long sintering time because of the uniform distribution and the elimination of the secondary phases at the grain boundary by the evaporation effect during long holding time. A carbothermal reduction reaction was also affected on the thermal conductivity. The thermal conductivity of AlN specimens sintered at $1900^{\circ}C$ for 10 h showed 130~200W/mK according to the content of sintering additive.

In this study, the electrochemical properties of garnet-structured all-solid-state battery electrolytes (Li6.4La3Zr1.4Ta0.6O12, hereafter LLZTO) were assessed by altering the calcination temperature, while maintaining a consistent sintering duration. Among the various heat treatment conditions employed for sample fabrication, the '700_1100' condition, denoting a calcination temperature of 700℃ and a sintering temperature of 1100℃, resulted in the most exceptional ionic conductivity of 4.89 × 10-4 S/cm and a relative density of 88.72% for the LLZTO material. This is attributed to the low calcination temperature of 700℃, leading to reduced grain size and enhanced cohesiveness, thus resulting in a higher sintered density. In addition, a microstructure similar to the typical sintering characteristics observed in Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) methods was identified in the SEM analysis results under the '700_1100' condition. Consequently, the '700_1100' heat treatment condition was deemed to optimal choice for enhancing ionic conductivity.
