We consider a degeneration of genus 2 curves, which is opposite to maximal degeneration in a sense. Such a degeneration of curves yields a variation of mixed Hodge structure with monodromy weight filtration. The mixed Hodge structure at each fibre, which is different from the limit mixed Hodge structure of Schmid and Steenbrink, can be realized as $H^1$ of a noncompact singular elliptic curve. We also prove that the pull back of the above variation of mixed Hodge structure to a double cover of the base space comes from a family of noncompact singular elliptic curves.

This paper describes a grid mapping for a vision based mobile robot in uncertain indoor environment. The map building is a prerequisite for navigation of a mobile robot and the problem of feature correspondence across two images is well known to be of crucial Importance for vision-based mapping We use a stereo matching algorithm obtained by singular value decomposition of an appropriate correspondence strength matrix. To control a light weight flexible manipulator, a composite fuzzy controller is proposed. The controller is designed based on two time scaled models. A singular perturbation technique is applied for deriving the models. The proposed controller, however, does not use the complex equilibrium manifold equations, which are usually needed in the controller based on the two time scaled models. The controller for a slow sub-model and a fast sub-model are T-S type fuzzy controllers, which use 3 linguistic variables for each sub-model. A step trajectory is used in simulations as a reference trajectory of joint motions. The results of simulations with the proposed controller show excellent damping of flexible motions compared to a controller with derivative control of flexible motions.

This paper is concerned with studying the weighted $L^P$ boundedness of a class of maximal operators related to homogeneous singular integrals with rough kernels. We obtain appropriate weighted $L^P$ bounds for such maximal operators. Our results are extensions and improvements of the main theorems in [2] and [5].

Zagier lift gives a relation between weakly holomorphic modular functions and weakly holomorphic modular forms of weight 3/2. Duke and Jenkins extended Zagier-lifts for weakly holomorphic modular forms of negative-integral weights and recently Bringmann, Guerzhoy and Kane extended them further to certain harmonic weak Maass forms of negative-integral weights. New Zagier-lifts for harmonic weak Maass forms and their relation with Bringmann-Guerzhoy-Kane's lifts were discussed earlier. In this paper, we give explicit relations between the two different lifts via direct computation.

A shape function for element free Galerkin method is carved from Shepard interpolant of singular weight and consistency condition. Thus present shape function is an interpolation and has no singularities. The shape function is applied to cantilever bending problems and gives good results in comparison with beam theory. Finally it is shown that the coupling with finite element method is made easily without any additional treaties.

The nuclear steam generator level control system is designed by robust control methods. The feedwater controller is designed by three methods of the H$\infty$, the mixed weight sensitivity and the structured singular value. Then the controller located on the feedback loop of the level control system is designed. For the system performance, the controller of simple PID whose coefficients vary with the power is selected. The simulations show that the system has a good performance with proper stability margins.

In this paper, we studied for modified MUSIC algorithm of direction of arrival (DOA)estimation. Modified MUSIC algorithm search optimal covariance matrix using singular value decomposition and Bayes method, and desired signals are estimated by updating weight. In order to estimation of desired signals, we used sub spatial method of MUSIC algorithm. General MUSIC algorithm can estimate a desired signal in case of non-correlation signal. But, general MUSIC algorithm in case of correlation signal can not estimate a desired signals and resolution is decreased. Though simulation in case of correlation signal, we analyze to compare proposed MUSIC algorithm with general MUSIC algorithm.

Women's aging made a functional decline at ovary, This functional problem causes estrogen deficiency and many disorders, such as, sexual dysfunction, obesity, osteoporosis, urinary incontinence, skin and all body's aging, etc. We determined the ameliorative effects of some herbal extracts mixture on postmenopausal symptoms in ovariectomized Sprague Dawley rats. Nine-weeks-old female rats were ovariectomized and treated with singled pomegranate extracts (0.40, 1.20 g/kg/day) and mixed pomegranate extracts (1.08, 3.24g/kg/day) for 8 weeks. Oral administration of pomegranate extracts for 8 weeks were increased serum estradiol level and improved the serum osteocalcin, ALP activity and bone specific ALP level. And pomegranate extracts were reduced body weight, adipose tissue. Uterus weight in treated group tended to improve. In addition, the concentrationl of triglyceride and total cholesterol were lower after 8 weeks. HDL-cholesterol levels improved with does-dependency in treated groups. Collagen level on skin and cartilage showed a slight increase at treatment for 8 weeks. $^{\infty}These$ results showed that both of singular extract treatments and extracts mixture treatments were effective on general postmenopausal symptoms at overiectomized rats, and especially, the mixture treatments were more effective than singular treatment. $^{\infty}In$ conclusion, these herbal extracts' mixture showed improvement effect in general factors related with postmenopausal disorders.
