Analysis of Three-Dimensional Cracks in Inhomogeneous Materials Using Fuzzy Theory

  • This paper describes a fuzzy-based system for analyzing the stress intensity factors (SIFs) of three-dimensional (3D) cracks. 3D finite element method(FEM) was used to obtain the SIF for subsurface cracks and surface cracks existing in inhomogeneous materials. A geometry model, i.e. a solid containing one or several 3D cracks is defined. Several distributions of local node density are chosen, and then automatically superposed on one another over the geometry model by using the fuzzy theory. Nodes are generated by the bucketing method, and ten-noded quadratic tetrahedral solid elements are generated by the Delaunay triangulation techniques. The singular elements such that the mid-point nodes near crack front are shifted at the quarter-points, and these are automatically placed along the 3D crack front. The complete FE model is generated, and a stress analysis is performed. The SIFs are calculated using the displacement extrapolation method. The results were compared with those surface cracks in homogeneous materials. Also, this system is applied to analyze cladding effect of surface cracks in inhomogeneous materials.

  • 본 논문에서는 델타연산자를 이용한 통합시스템에서 사전에 민감도가 낮게 설정된 폐루프 궤적을 성취해주는 상태 궤환 제어기의 설계기법이 제안되었다. 양시등급 시스템에서는 빠른 모드를 무시함으로써 수행되는 특이섭동기법에 의해서 그 차수가 감소된다. 제안된 기법은 특이성동상수의 범위에서 실제 궤적의 변화를 다룬다. 물론 최적화를 위한 필요조건들도 유도된다. 이전의 연구는 연속시스템에서 이루어졌으나 본 논문에서는 이산 시스템 및 델타통합시스템으로 확장하였다. 제안된 기법의 우수성은 수치예제를 통하여 확인되었다.

카메라 폰 상에서 사용자 인증을 위한 디지털 워터마킹 기법 (Digital Watermarking Method for User's Certification of Camera-Phone)

  • 교통 사고, 화재, 범죄 등이 발생했을 때, 누구든지 사진을 찍을 수 있고, 그 사진이 증거로 사용될 수 있다. 디지털 워터마킹은 특정 카메라 폰에서 찍은 사진이 인증될 수 있도록 보증할 수 있게 해준다. 본 논문에서는 카메라 폰에 적합한 디지털 워터마킹 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 특정치 분해와 웨이블릿 분해를 기반으로 한다. 실험 결과는 제안된 방법이 JPEG 압축에 대해 보안성과 강인성이 좋음을 보여준다.

Improving Web Service Recommendation using Clustering with K-NN and SVD Algorithms

  • In the advent of the twenty-first century, human beings began to closely interact with technology. Today, technology is developing, and as a result, the world wide web (www) has a very important place on the Internet and the significant task is fulfilled by Web services. A lot of Web services are available on the Internet and, therefore, it is difficult to find matching Web services among the available Web services. The recommendation systems can help in fixing this problem. In this paper, our observation was based on the recommended method such as the collaborative filtering (CF) technique which faces some failure from the data sparsity and the cold-start problems. To overcome these problems, we first applied an ontology-based clustering and then the k-nearest neighbor (KNN) algorithm for each separate cluster group that effectively increased the data density using the past user interests. Then, user ratings were predicted based on the model-based approach, such as singular value decomposition (SVD) and the predictions used for the recommendation. The evaluation results showed that our proposed approach has a less prediction error rate with high accuracy after analyzing the existing recommendation methods.

  • 본 논문에서는 역전파 신경망 알고리즘(BPNN: Back Propagation Neural Network)과 Singular Value Decomposition(SVD)를 이용하는 한글 문서 분류 시스템을 제안한다. BPNN은 학습을 통하여 만들어진 네트워크를 이용하여 문서분류를 수행한다. 이 방법의 어려움은 분류기에 입력되는 특징 공간이 너무 크다는 것이다. SVD를 이용하면 고차원의 벡터를 저차원으로 줄일 수 있고, 또한 의미있는 벡터 공간을 만들어 단어 사이의 중요한 관계성을 구축할 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 BPNN의 성능 평가를 위하여 한국일보-2000/한국일보-40075 문서범주화 실험문서집합의 데이터 셋을 이용하였다. 실험결과를 통하여 BPNN과 SVD를 사용한 시스템이 한글 문서 분류에 탁월한 성능을 가지는 것을 보여준다.

  • In this work, position and vibratiion control of a two-link manipulator with one flexible link, which an unkoun but bounded payload mass and two pair of artificial muscle-type penumatic actuators, are investgated. A flexible link robot has advantages over a figid link robot in the sense that it is much safer when it cones into contact with its environment, including humans. Furthermore, for the sake of safety, it would be more desirabel if an actuator could deliver required force while maintaining proper compliance. An artificial muscle-type penumatic actuator is adequate for such cases. In this study, a controller based on singular perturbation method, adaptive and sliding mode contro, and .mu.-synthesis is developed. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is confirmed through simulations and experiments.

Mode identifiability of a multi-span cable-stayed bridge utilizing stabilization diagram and singular values

  • This study investigates the mode identifiability of a multi-span cable-stayed bridge in terms of a benchmark study using stabilization diagrams of a system model identified using stochastic subspace identification (SSI). Cumulative contribution ratios (CCRs) estimated from singular values of system models under different wind conditions were also considered. Observations revealed that wind speed might influence the mode identifiability of a specific mode of a cable-stayed bridge. Moreover the cumulative contribution ratio showed that the time histories monitored during strong winds, such as those of a typhoon, can be modeled with less system order than under weak winds. The blind data Acc 1 and Acc 2 were categorized as data obtained under a typhoon. Blind data Acc 3 and Acc 4 were categorized as data obtained under wind conditions of critical wind speeds around 7.5 m/s. Finally, blind data Acc 5 and Acc 6 were categorized as data measured under weak wind conditions.

  • This paper describes a grid mapping for a vision based mobile robot in uncertain indoor environment. The map building is a prerequisite for navigation of a mobile robot and the problem of feature correspondence across two images is well known to be of crucial Importance for vision-based mapping We use a stereo matching algorithm obtained by singular value decomposition of an appropriate correspondence strength matrix.   • It is well-known that the redundancy can be exploited to avoid the singular regions of the redundant manipulator by increasing the manipulability. The method, however, requires exprecessive energy and gives rather large tracking errors since the manipulability is increased repidly so that the manipulator avoid the singular region quickly. In this paper, a new method is proposed in which the increasing speed of the manipulability is confined to a certain bound. Therefore, in the proposed method, the movement energy and the tracking errors are reduced. The computer simulation studies are performed to show the validity of the method.

  • To control a light weight flexible manipulator, a composite fuzzy controller is proposed. The controller is designed based on two time scaled models. A singular perturbation technique is applied for deriving the models. The proposed controller, however, does not use the complex equilibrium manifold equations, which are usually needed in the controller based on the two time scaled models. The controller for a slow sub-model and a fast sub-model are T-S type fuzzy controllers, which use 3 linguistic variables for each sub-model. A step trajectory is used in simulations as a reference trajectory of joint motions. The results of simulations with the proposed controller show excellent damping of flexible motions compared to a controller with derivative control of flexible motions.
