  • This paper discusses how to design a game server that is scalable, adaptable, and re-buildable with components. Furthermore, it explains how various implementation issues were resolved. To support adaptability, the server comprises three layers: network, user, and database. To ensure independence between the layers, each layer was designed to communicate with each other only via message queues. In this architecture, each layer can have an arbitrary number of threads; thus, scalability is guaranteed for each layer. The network layer uses input/output completion ports(IOCP), which shows the best performance on the Windows platform, it can handle up to 5,000 simultaneous connections on a typical entry-level computer, despite being built with a single-threaded user layer. To completely separate the database from the game server, the SQL code was not directly embedded in the database layer.

  • In this paper, a novel multi voltage inverter system is proposed for reductions of harmonics, which can compensate reactive power. At first, we remove capacitor at input side for reactive power compensation. Secondly, by adding DC voltage to the filter capacitor, it can control power factors as lead-phase according to alterations of loads at power reception. Thirdly, if winding and single phase-bridge inverter(auxiliary circuit) is installed to DC power for reduction of harmonic, waveform of output voltages become to 36-steps. Thus, SVC(static var compensator) systems which can reduce harmonics are designed.

  • LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), that unifies the scale of various environmental impacts, and simulated annealing are applied to optimizing electrolysis of wastewater from PCB (Printed Circuit Board) production. The changes of environmental impact can be quantified with LCA and the total changes of environmental impacts can be expressed as a function of power consumed, Cu recycled, $Cl_2$, NOx and SOx discharged through restriction of feasible reactions. In a single-variate condition, the environmental optimum can be easily obtained through plotting and comparing each environmental impact value. In 8V potentiostatic electrolysis, the lowest environmental impact can be achieved after 90min. To optimize a multi-variate conditional system, simulated annealing can be applied and this can give the quick and near optimum in complex systems, where many input and output materials are involved, through experimentally measured values without a theoretical modeling.

  • In this paper, some algorithms for robust stabilization of linerar time - invariant single - input - multi output(SIMO) systems subject to parameter perturbatations are presented. .The range of structure perturbation was obtained by using the gradient optimization algorithm. These algorithms iteratively enlarge the stability hypersphere in plant parameter space and can be used to design a robust controller to stabilize a plant subject to givien range of parameter ecxursions.

  • In the construction of successful fuzzy models and/or controllers for nonlinear systems, identification of a good fuzzy Neural inference system is an important yet difficult problem, which is traditionally accomplished by trial and error process. In this paper, we propose a systematic identification procedure for complex multi-input single- output nonlinear systems with DNA coding method.DNA coding method is optimization algorithm based on biological DNA as are conventional genetic algothms (GAs). We also propose a new coding method for applying the DNA coding method to the identification of fuzzy Neural models. To acquire optimal TS fuzzy model with higher accuracy and economical size, we use the DNA coding method to optimize the parameters and the number of fuzzy inference system.

  • This research describes a neural network-based phoneme segmenter for recognizing spontaneous speech. The input of the phoneme segmenter for spontaneous speech is 16th order mel-scaled FFT, normalized frame energy, ratio of energy among 0~3[KHz] band and more than 3[KHz] band. All the features are differences of two consecutive 10 [msec] frame. The main body of the segmenter is single-hidden layer MLP(Multi-Layer Perceptron) with 72 inputs, 20 hidden nodes, and one output node. The segmentation accuracy is 78% with 7.8% insertion.

  • The reliability as well as the power capability of the UPS system can be increased by replacing a single UPS unit with multiple small UPS units in parallel, resulting in a so-called module UPS. This module UPS system allows that a new module can be added or replaced while maintaining power to loads, which is a hot-swappable operation. In addition, it has desirable features such as ease of output power expandability, convenience of maintenance and repair, and high reliability. To realize the module UPS, load sharing without interconnection among parallel connecting modules as well as a small scale and lightweight topology is necessary. The frequency and voltage droop method is applied to parallel operation control to achieve load sharing. 5kVA modules are designed and implemented to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. Experimental results show that the module UPS system has a high power factor, a low distortion of output voltage and input current, hot-swappable operations and good load sharing characteristics.

  • In the near future, military robots are likely to be substituted for military personnel in the field of battle. The power system of a legged robot is considerably more complex than the one used for a land vehicle because of the coordination and stability issues due to the large number of degree of freedom. In this paper, a servovalve-piston combination system for a straight-line motion of robot leg is modeled as three degree of freedom based on double inputs and single output transfer function. The output is the displacement of piston from neutral. The inputs are valve displacement from neutral and arbitrary load force in this system. LQR(Linear Quadratic Regulator) technique is applied in order to achieve robust stability and fast responses of the system. The Kalman filter loop, rejection of disturbance and noise, riccati equation, filter gain matrix, and frequency domain equality are analyzed and designed.

  • In this paper, a low-complexity and low-power soft output multiple input multiple output (MIMO) symbol detector is proposed for mobile devices with two transmit and two receive antennas. The proposed symbol detector can support both the spatial multiplexing mode and spatial diversity mode in single hardware and shows the optimal maximum likelihood (ML) performance. By applying a multi-stage pipeline structure and using a complex multiplier based on the polar-coordinate, the complexity of the proposed architecture is dramatically decreased. Also, by applying a clock-gating scheme to the internal modules for MIMO modes, the power consumption is also reduced. The proposed symbol detector was designed using a hardware description language (HDL) and implemented using a 65nm CMOS standard cell library. With the proposed architecture, the proposed MIMO detector takes up an area of approximately $0.31mm^2$ with 183K equivalent gates and achieves a 150Mbps throughput. Also, the power estimation results show that the proposed MIMO detector can reduce the power consumption by a maximum of 85% for the various test cases.

  • The real-world problems usually show nonlinear and multi-variate characteristics, so it is difficult to establish concrete mathematical models for them. Thus, it is common to practice data-driven modeling techniques in these cases. Among them, most widely adopted techniques are regression model and intelligent model such as neural networks. Regression model has drawback showing lower performance when much non-linearity exists between input and output data. Intelligent model has been shown its superiority to the linear model due to ability capable of effectively estimate desired output in cases of both linear and nonlinear problem. This paper proposes modeling method of daily photovoltaic power systems using ELM(Extreme Learning Machine) based modular networks. The proposed method uses sub-model by fuzzy clustering rather than using a single model. Each sub-model is implemented by ELM. To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, we performed various experiments by dataset acquired during 2014 in real-plant.
