The Coronavirus or COVID-19 is contagiousness virus that infected almost every single part of the world. This pandemic forced a major country did lockdown and stay at a home policy to reduce virus spread and the number of victims. Interactions between humans and robots form a popular subject of research worldwide. In medical robotics, the primary challenge is to implement natural interactions between robots and human users. Human communication consists of dynamic processes that involve joint attention and attracting each other. Coordinated care involves sharing among agents of behaviours, events, interests, and contexts in the world from time to time. The robotics arm is an expensive and complicated system because robot simulators are widely used instead of for rehabilitation purposes in medicine. Interaction in natural ways is necessary for disabled persons to work with the robot simulator. This article proposes a low-cost rehabilitation system by building an arm gesture tracking system based on a depth camera that can capture and interpret human gestures and use them as interactive commands for a robot simulator to perform specific tasks on the 3D block. The results show that the proposed system can help patients control the rotation and movement of the 3D arm using their hands. The pilot testing with healthy subjects yielded encouraging results. They could synchronize their actions with a 3D robotic arm to perform several repetitive tasks and exerting 19920 J of energy (kg.m2.S-2). The average of consumed energy mentioned before is in medium scale. Therefore, we relate this energy with rehabilitation performance as an initial stage and can be improved further with extra repetitive exercise to speed up the recovery process.

PURPOSE: The present research examined the effects of progressive robot-assisted step training on the strength of the lower extremity and gait speed of an individual with stroke through changes between the baseline and the intervention stage (1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months). METHODS: A single-subject (A-B) design was performed for a chronic stroke patient aged 70 years old. The robot-assisted step training was conducted three times a week during 12 months (40 minutes/session), and the assessment was conducted a total of seven times between the baseline and the intervention (No. 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months) to determine the effect of the intervention. RESULTS: As a result of the intervention, the muscle strength at the lower extremity of the paralysis side increased by the greatest extent 12 months after the intervention compared to the baseline, and the gait speed via the 10-meter walk test was increased as well. CONCLUSION: Long-term robot-assisted step training might be an effective intervention for improving the strength of the paretic lower extremity muscles and gait speed in stroke patients with difficulty walking independently. Further studies with sufficient sample sizes and a randomized control group will be needed to evaluate the long-term effects of robotic stepping rehabilitation.
It was to test the efficiency of essence containing scalp derived Leuconostoc mesenteroides extract on relieving hair loss and the possibility of the usage as the functional cosmetic's material. 41 subjects were classified as the control and test group and for 24 weeks, from Apr. 15th 2021 to Nov. 4th 2021, they were double blindness, contrast samples, single organs, and randomized human applicating tests were performed. The amount of hair had meaningful change (p<0.001) seen through phototricogram in 8,16,24 weeks each, and could tell the difference by researcher's bare eye after 24 weeks. Since there were meaningful changes (p<0.017) in subjective evaluation of the subject on after 8,16,24 weeks time, Essence which contains 1% of L. mesenteroides has efficiency on hair loss. Therefore, L. mesenteroides is expected to be used as various cosmetics to prevent hair loss.
This study aimed to develop a a custom-made dress form for draping using a live model's 3D body scan obtained from an entry-level 3D handheld scanners, 3D modeling software and 3D printing technology. A female subject was recruited whose body size fell under the normal (N) body shape criteria suggested by KS K 0051. First, the handheld scanner reduced the length of the legs in scanning, but most of the scanning operations between the neck and crotch levels were conducted accurately. Therefore, this study was designed to develop a torso dress form. The full body 3D scan was edited into a torso shape using ZBrush® software. Using Rhinoceros® and Materialise's Magics software, a 3D body scan was modeled so that the user could fit two types of mannequin stands (one with a neck fixation from above and one with an insert from below) to the dress form. The body scan was divided into 9 pieces to fit the printable size of the Stratasys 3D printer Fortus 250mc, and the cross-sectional distance from the center to the periphery was downsized by 2 mm. After outputting the dress form scan file with a 3D printer, the dress form was manufactured by the first covering it with a 4 oz nonwoven pad and the second covering with a single jersey material.

Purpose : This study was purposed to analyze the effectiveness of PBL (Problem-Based Learning) classes and to derive class improvement plans. Methods : The subjects of the study were 48 students who took the 4th grade clinical dental hygiene course at S University located in Chungcheongnam-do of South Korea in 2021. A single-group pre and post experimental study was designed to verify whether there were significant changes in the research variables of students who participated in the class to which problem-based learning was applied. A paired-sample t-test was conducted for the collected data of 46 respondents. Results : As a result, the degree of improvement in problem clarification, cause analysis, and alternative development among the five sub-areas of problem-solving ability was statistically significant. This means that the problem-based learning class positively affects dental hygiene major students' ability to clarify problems, the ability to analyze causes to collect and analyze information, and the ability to develop alternatives to make decisions, thereby improving overall problem-solving abilities. However, the improved post-score was not statistically significant in the planning/execution and performance evaluation of the remaining two subdomains. In addition, post-scores of the leader aspect, opinion exchange, opinion evaluation, and opinion integration, which are sub-domains of collaborative self-efficacy, all showed great statistical significance. Problem-based learning improved the collaborative efficacy of dental hygiene major students overall by positively influencing the ability to lead a team, exchange and evaluate each other's views, and constructively integrate different views. Conclusion : It was found that both the subject's problem-solving ability and cooperation efficiency improved under the influence of problem-based learning. On the other hand, implications for improvement of the future class such as the necessity of supplementing strategies to promote planning and execution ability for problem solving, and ability to evaluate problem solving performance was suggested.
Solid-state hydrogen storage is gaining prominence as a crucial subject in advancing the hydrogen-based economy and innovating energy storage technology. This storage method shows superior characteristics in terms of safety, storage, and operational efficiency compared to existing methods such as compression and liquefied hydrogen storage. In this study, we aim to evaluate the solid hydrogen storage performance on the nanotube surface by various structural design factors. This is accomplished through molecular dynamics simulations (MD) with the aim of uncovering the underlying ism. The simulation incorporates diverse carbon nanotubes (CNTs) - encompassing various diameters, multi-walled structures (MWNT), single-walled structures (SWNT), and boron-nitrogen nanotubes (BNNT). Analyzing the storage and effective release of hydrogen under different conditions via the radial density function (RDF) revealed that a reduction in radius and the implementation of a double-wall configuration contribute to heightened solid hydrogen storage. While the hydrogen storage capacity of boron-nitrogen nanotubes falls short of that of carbon nanotubes, they notably surpass carbon nanotubes in terms of effective hydrogen storage capacity.

Objective : This study was intended to systematically consider the sensory integration intervention methods offered in Korea for children with autism spectrum disorder and to provide an evidence base for the application of sensory integration interventions. Methods : The subjects of this study were published studies in a national journal for the last 10 years from January 2011 to December 2020. The databases used for the search were RISS and DBpia. The search terms were 'autism', 'autism spectrum', 'sensory integration', and 'intervention'. A total of 10 studies were used in the analysis, which were analyzed at the qualitative and methodological quality of the research evidence and the results were presented according to the PICO (Patient, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome). Results : In the research analysis, the quality level of the evidence was highest at level IV, followed by level II. The methodological quality of the evidence was the most common for 'Good' research, followed 'Fair'. The study subjects were children with autism spectrum disorder and their parents, and the experimental design had the highest frequency of single-subject studies. Interventions have the highest number of studies confirming adaptive behavior and sensory modulation, and the evaluation tools used to measure interventions have the highest frequency of sensory profiles and Canadian occupational performance measures (COPM). All 10 studies used in the analysis showed positive improvements and statistically significant effects on various outcome values from sensory integration interventions. Conclusion : In the recent clinical environment, sensory integration interventions have been continuously conducted in children with autism spectrum disorder. In future research, it is necessary to conduct research on various sensory integration intervention methods and the high quality of the evidence for the application of sensory integration interventions.

The present research evaluates the public engagement approach in various project stages. Hong Kong had long been criticized as top-down and executive-led jurisdiction by overlooking the importance of cultural heritage and public concerns on public projects. It was suggested to the government to engage public and provide sufficient public consultation. Thereby, the government announced a series of revitalization and conversion measures in Policy Address in 2008. To carry out the measures, there were voices, because of diverse and sometimes conflicting interests, over the effect of revitalization project. On the other hand, studies reveal that there are benefits of revitalization and enhancement of public engagement approach. In pursuit of the subject, the present research aims at studying the Central Market as a case study pilot project. In October 2009, the Policy Address announced that the Central Market be revitalized. Tasked to implement the project, Urban Renewal Authority (URA) continued to adopt the people-oriented approach as the guiding principle in its core business and in heritage preservation and revitalization so as to create a sustainable development. Between government and the public, URA acts as a bridge for communication. As between URA and the public, URA conducted public consultation, set up an ad-hoc committee in January 2016 to be in charge of the project and will continuously inform the government and public with the updates and project progress. The main objectives of the present research are to assess the advantages and challenges in different stages of public engagement approach, to evaluate the engagement system, to give a comprehensive view for participation of stakeholders, and to find out effective strategies to enhance civil engagement. Research was achieved through interviews to key persons in the project, questionnaire that was distributed to community and experts in the field. Case Study of the Central Market was studied and investigated using different sources, such as newspapers, journals, etc, to evaluate the degree of public engagement in the project. Both detailed qualitative methodological approaches of interview, questionnaire, and case study, act as a synergy to demonstrate the research objectives and provide the comprehensive perceptions on the revitalization project. The results show that public participants in revitalized project have generated considerable value enhancements to social-cultural, environmental, political and economic aspect. This study provides valuable insights that the public participation can make positive contribution to sustainability in the city. The findings indicate that no any single system is flawless therefore seeking both public opinions and professional advices are also important as a comprehensive approach to achieve higher sustainability of the building.

Background: The lung volume and diffusing capacity are influenced by ethnicity. However, there are no equations for predicting the normal lung volume in the adult Korean population, and there is only one equation for diffusing capacity. The aim of this study is to select the most suitable reference equation for the Korean population. Method: 30 men and 33 women at Hanyang University Guri Hospital, and 27 men and 34 women at Asan Medical Center in healthy nonsmoking adults were enrolled in this study. The subject's age, gender, height, weight, lung volume by plethysmography, and diffusing capacity by a single breathing method were obtained. The most suitable equation with the lowest sum of residuals between the observed and predicted values for lung volume and diffusing capacity was selected. Result: At Hanyang University Guri Hospital, the equations with the lowest sum of residuals in the total lung capacity were ECSC's equation in males (sum of residual: 0.04 L) and Crapo/Morris's equation (-1.04) in women. At the Asan Medical Center, the equations with the lowest sum of residuals in the total lung capacity were Goldman/Becklake's equation in males (sum of residual: -2.35) and the ECSC's equation -4.49) in women. The equations with the lowest sum of residuals in the Diffusing capacity were Roca's equation in males (sum of residual: -13.66 ml/min/mmHg) and Park's in women (25.08) in Hanyang University Guri hospital and Park's equation in all cases in the Asan Medical Center (male: -1.65, female: -6.46). Conclusions: Until a reference equstion can be made for healthy Koreans by sampling, ECSC's equation can be used for estimating the lung volume and Park's can be used for estimating the diffusing capacity.
