The role of ESR spectroscopy in the characterization of functional LB films is discussed. Optical absorption were performed on LB films of binary mixtures of three kinds of merocyanine dyes where DS and 6Me-DS form J-like aggregates but not DO in single component films. The observed optical absorption spectra of mixed films were markedly dependant on the combination of dyes. We found the formation of J-aggregates in a mixed merocyanine dyes containing a non J-aggregate forming dye DO, in a single component case. In structural studios, ESR is of particular important in the analysis of molecular orientation of LB films. Development of new functional LB films may provide more cases where ESR spectroscopy will clarify the nature of such films.

In this Paper, optical absorption were performed on LB films of binary mixtures of three kinds of merocranine dyes DO, DS, and 6Me-BS, where DS and 6Me-DS form J-like aggregates but not DO in single component films. The observed optical absorption spectra of mixed films were markedly defendent on the combination of dyes. [6Me-DS]$\sub$1-x/[DOl]$\sub$x/ LB films show a sharp red shifted J-like band peak in the whole concentration range. We found the formation of f aggregates in a mixed merocyanine dyes containing a non J-aggregate forming dye DO, in a single component case. Farther investigations on the present and other mixed-dye films will be needed to clarify these points.

The single layer latticed domes have various behaviors with each geometrical shape and scale, and they are affected by vertical component as well as horizontal component of the dynamic load. And they represent ye different earthquake responses under each ground acceleration compared with another structural systems. Generally, all of the members of latticed domes undergo three dimensional deflections if they are subjected to arbitrary one dimensional horizontal load under earthquake motions. And their response characteristics are very different to their shapes, rise/span ratios, and damping mechanisms. In this study, the earthquake response behavior is verified according to the factor of each shape, rise/span ratio, and damping ratio of latticed domes, which undergo horizontal and vertical earthquake motions by numerical approaches.

We investigated the current limiting characteristics of resistive and inductive SFCLs with 100 $\Omega$ of quench impedance for a single line-to-ground fault. which accounts for about 70% of the total power line faults, in the 154 kV transmission system. The fault simulation at the phase angles 0$^{\circ}$, 45$^{\circ}$, and 90$^{\circ}$ showed that the resistive SFCL limited the fault current less than 15 kA without any DC component after one half cycle from the instant of the fault. On the other hand, the inductive SFCL suppressed the current below 12 KA, but with 3 kA of DC component which decreased to zero in 5 cycles. We concluded that the inductive SFCL had higher performance in current limiting but the resistive SFCL was better from the view point of DC components.

In this study, the characteristics of single-component and other sealant were analyzed to provide repair methods and effective utilization of sealant due to crack generation. Humidity studies have shown that acrylic silicone is effective in many areas of fluidity and temperature change, and that polysulfide-silicon is most effective in resistance to linear expansion coefficient and external pressure. Therefore, the difference between drying shrinkage and thermal expansion coefficient between various building materials and sealant, as well as the use of sealant, is analyzed, and construction methods derived accordingly, and prevention of defects are considered to be part of the construction project.

Inelastic behavior of reinforced concrete members is very complex and affected by many factors. Therefore, though using the finite element method which is good to predict the response of R/C member, it has to be proceeded to model these factors appropriately which have influence on the behavioral characteristics of reinforced concrete members. The proposed model consists of the physical single component model having the finite size of plastic regions and the hysteretic rules, by regressing experimental data, which can idealize the hysteretic behavior of R/C member under inelastic cyclic loads. This study confirms the accuracy of the developed analytical model through comparison with the test results of R/C members having a variety of shear-to-depth ratio and maximum shear stress.
The optimum design and preliminary cost estimations of air stripping towers ASTs with granular activated carbon adsorption (GAC) systems as the off-gas treatment were done and compared to liquid-phase GAC system. The optimum design and preliminary cost estimations were done for either single or multicomponent systems. A computer program was developed for this study. 15 single compounds and their multicomponent systems were studies. Even with off-gas treatment, AST was generally a less expensive process for treatment of volatile organics than liquid-phase GAC system. Treatment costs of small systems were sensitive to system capacity. Accumulative effect of treatment costs was found in multicomponent systems. The cost of a multicomponent system was highly dependent on the least strippable component in ASTs even with gas-phase GAC or the least adsorbable component in liquid-phase GAC system.

Cold ironing, as a post-forging operation of warm forged gears, needs a clear understanding of form errors due to die-elasticity and springback of component. In order to simplify the analysis of cold ironing, a single tooth instead of a whole gear component was investigated. The influence of initial surface roughness, die design, and die/workpiece interference has been examined experimentally and numerically. As a result the changes in geometrical profile, dimensions, and surface finish in a single tooth were observed. This study demonstrates that predicted dimensions can be achieved and surface finish also can be greatly improved.
Gene-gene interaction (GGI) analysis is known to play an important role in explaining missing heritability. Many previous studies have already proposed software to analyze GGI, but most methods focus on a binary phenotype in a case-control design. In this study, we developed "Hierarchical structural CoMponent analysis of Gene-Gene Interactions" (HisCoM-GGI) software for GGI analysis with a continuous phenotype. The HisCoM-GGI method considers hierarchical structural relationships between genes and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), enabling both gene-level and SNP-level interaction analysis in a single model. Furthermore, this software accepts various types of genomic data and supports data management and multithreading to improve the efficiency of genome-wide association study data analysis. We expect that HisCoM-GGI software will provide advanced accessibility to researchers in genetic interaction studies and a more effective way to understand biological mechanisms of complex diseases.
