  • The correct computer simulation of the powder compaction stage requires the determination of the elastoplastic parameters which characterize its mechanical behavour. Instrumented dies are frequently used to monitor the longitudinal and radial stress occurring during powder compaction. When strain gages are employed a previous calibration is needed. Many sources of error exist that can lead to the incorrect calibration of the instrumented die. By means of a FEM simulation some of these problems are analysed. The effect of die wall thickness, compression length, and strain location are studied.

  • In this paper, we formulate Kalman filter for calibration of strapdown inertial measurment unit(SDIMU) on navigation system level and analyize its performance by covariance simulation method. It has been shown that the calibration method suggested in this paper is not largely influenced by accuracy of a mounting axis alignment required in calibration of SDIMU on IMU level.

분포형 모형의 다지점 보정 모듈 개발 - GRM 모형을 중심으로 - (Development of a Multi-Site Calibration Module of Distributed Model - The Case of GRM -)

  • 분포형 모형은 유역내에서 공간 분포된 임의 지점의 유출해석 결과를 손쉽게 얻을 수 있다. 이때 다양한 특성을 가지는 소유역으로 구성된 유역의 경우, 소유역에 대해 신뢰성 있는 유출량을 얻기 위해서는 소유역별로 보정된 모형을 적용해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 관측 유량자료가 있는 소유역별로 모형을 보정할 수 있는 다지점 보정 기술을 개발하였다. 이를 위해서 다지점 보정 대상매개변수의 선정 및 적용 방법과 소유역 네트워크 정보를 설정하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또한 다지점 보정 모듈을 구현하기 위한 클래스를 설계하고 GUI를 개발하였으며, 소유역별로 설정된 매개 변수를 이용한 유출해석 절차를 정립하였다. 다지점 보정 모듈을 낙동강 수계 선산 유역($977km^2$)에 적용하였다. 적용결과 다지점 보정 모듈은 유역내 소유역에 대한 모형의 보정에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있었으며, 다지점 보정에 의해서 소유역의 유출해석 결과를 향상시킬 수 있었다.

The Assessment of Cross Calibration/Validation Accuracy for KOMPSAT-3 Using Landsat 8 and 6S

  • In this study, we performed cross calibration of KOMPSAT-3 AEISS imaging sensor with reference to normalized pixels in the Landsat 8 OLI scenes of homogenous ROI recorded by both sensors between January 2014 and December 2019 at the Libya 4 PICS. Cross calibration is using images from a stable and well-calibrated satellite sensor as references to harmonize measurements from other sensors and/or characterize other sensors. But cross calibration has two problems; RSR and temporal difference. The RSR of KOMPSAT-3 and Landsat 8 are similar at the blue and green bands. But the red and NIR bands have a large difference. So we calculate SBAF of each sensor. We compared the SBAF estimated from the TOA Radiance simulation with KOMPSAT-3 and Landsat 8, the results displayed a difference of about 2.07~2.92% and 0.96~1.21% in the VIS and NIR bands. Before SBAF, Reflectance and Radiance difference was 0.42~23.23%. Case of difference temporal, we simulated by 6S and Landsat 8 for alignment the same acquisition time. The SBAF-corrected cross calibration coefficients using KOMPSAT-3, 6S and simulated Landsat 8 compared to the initial cross calibration without correction demonstrated a percentage difference in the spectral bands of about 0.866~1.192%. KOMPSAT-3 maximum uncertainty was estimated at 3.26~3.89%; errors due to atmospheric condition minimized to less than 1% (via 6S); Maximum deviation of KOMPSAT-3 DN was less than 1%. As the result, the results affirm that SBAF and 6s simulation enhanced cross-calibration accuracy.

TRANSIMS의 단속류 네트워크 적용 가능성에 대한 연구 (A Study on Applicability of TRANSIMS to Interrupted Traffic Flow at Road Segments in Urban Area)

  • 본 연구에서는 대구광역시의 달구벌대로의 일부 단로부를 대상으로 신호교차로에서의 차두시간 특성과 교통량, 속도 및 통행시간 특성에 대한 관측 자료를 기반으로 시뮬레이션을 위한 calibration과 검증과정을 통해 TRANSIMS의 단속류에서의 적용 가능성을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히, 차두시간의 특성과 우리 실정에 맞는 파라미터의 선정 및 ID 추적 등을 통해 Calibration 과정을 거쳤으며 이렇게 수정된 파라미터를 기반으로 구현된 가로구간의 차로별 교통량, 속도 및 구간 통행시간 등의 특성은 무난하게 우리 실정에 맞게 묘사할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 셀의 크기에 따른 교통류 특성 분석에서 기존 연구의 성과를 뒷받침 할 수 있는 결과도 얻을 수 있었다. 그러나 본 연구에서 대상으로 일부 구간만으로 TRANSIMS의 국내 적용가능성을 단정하기에는 무리가 있으며, 다양한 차로 특성, 신호 특성 및 연도 토지이용 특성 등을 고려한 시뮬레이션을 통해 객관적인 분석과 파라미터의 Calibration 과정 및 검증에 대한 향후 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

  • This paper presents a new robot calibration algorithm with joint stiffness parameters for the enhanced positioning accuracy of industrial robot manipulators. This work is towards on-going development of an industrial robot calibration software which is able to identify both the kinematic and non-kinematic robot parameters. In this paper, the conventional kinematic calibration and its important considerations are briefly described first. Then, a new robot calibration algorithm which simultaneously identifies both the kinematic and joint stiffness parameters is presented and explained through a computer simulation with a 2 DOF manipulator. Finally, the developed algorithm is implemented to Hyundai HX165 robot and its resulting improvement of the positioning accuracy is addressed.

상태변수 추정을 이용한 김발형 관성항법시스템의 교정기법에 대한 연구 (Calibration of gimballed inertial navigation systems using state estimation)

  • Gimballed Inertial Navigation Systems(GINS) are sophisticated autonomous electro-mechanical systems which supply the position, velocity and attitude of the vehicle on which they are mounted. In order to maintain accuracy of outputs, the GINS are required to regularly calibrate senior errors. However, existing calibration methods take up a long time due to multiposition alignments needed to increase accuracy. A particular system formulation for calibration of a GINS is proposed to enhance system observability and thus to expedite calibration procedure. Performance of the proposed calibration method is compared with existing methods such as Schuler test and muliposition alignment. Simulation studies show the proposed system formulation associated with a suggested suboptimal filter is accurate as well as efficient in error identification essential to GINS calibration.

Calibration by Median Regression

  • Classical and inverse estimation methods are two well known methods in statistical calibration problems. When there are outliers, both methods have large MSE's and could not estimate the input value correctly. We suggest median calibration estimation based on the LD-statistics. To investigate the robust performances, the influence function of the median calibration estimator is calculated and compared with other methods. When there are outliers in the response variables, the influence function is found to be bounded. In simulation studies, the MSE's for each calibration methods are compared. The estimated inputs as well as the performance of the influence functions are calculated.

HSPF를 이용한 임하호 유역 유사량 모의 (Simulation of Sediment Yield from Imha Watershed Using HSPF)

  • Sediment yields from Imha watershed were simulated during 1993-2008 using Hydrologic Simulation Program-Fortran (HSPF). Using observed daily stream flow for 2004-2008 and hourly suspended solid concentration for three events during 2006, HSPF was calibrated and validated at the sites of Imha and Youngyang for stream flow and Dongchun and Jangpachun for sediment yield. The calibration and validation results represented high model efficiency for simulating daily stream flow and hourly suspended solid. The determination coefficients of calibration and validation were 0.90 and 0.81 for daily stream flow, and 0.91 and 0.86 for monthly stream flow, respectively. Based on model tolerances for calibration and validation of stream flow, HSPF performance for simulating stream flow represented 'very good'. The determination coefficients of calibration and validation were 0.94-0.96 and 0.95 for hourly sediment yields, respectively. The average yearly sediment yield during 1993-2008 was 122,290 ton/year and most of sediment yield (77 % of total yield) were generated from June to August. The calibrated HSPF simulated well the movement of water and eroded soil within Imha watershed.

  • This study investigates the need of calibrating a nodal network ventilation simulation model (CONTAMW 2.4). For this purpose, the series of ventilation experiments were conducted and then compared to simulation outputs from an uncalibrated simulation model, resulting in a significant difference between two. Hence, an optimization routine was employed to estimate unknown parameters in the simulation model. In the paper, the authors presents 1.3 unknown parameters with the validated simulation model. It was found that the model with estimated unknown parameters predicts the ventilation phenomena accurately.
