  • A new computational approach for the rain load on the transmission tower is presented to obtain the responses of system subjected to the wind and rain combined excitations. First of all, according to the similarity theory, the aeroelastic modeling of high-voltage transmission tower is introduced and two kinds of typical aeroelastic models of transmission towers are manufactured for the wind tunnel tests, which are the antelope horn tower and pole tower. And then, a formula for the pressure time history of rain loads on the tower structure is put forward. The dynamic response analyses and experiments for the two kinds of models are carried out under the wind-induced and wind-rain-induced actions with the uniform and turbulent flow. It has been shown that the results of wind-rain-induced responses are bigger than those of only wind-induced responses and the rain load influence on the transmission tower can't be neglected during the strong rainstorm. The results calculated by the proposed method have a good agreement with those by the wind tunnel test. In addition, the wind-rain-induced responses along and across the wind direction are in the same order of response magnitude of towers.

  • As to talk about computer aided 3D modeling, it can be conformed to the popular aesthetics based theory of heightening the organizing useful visual information. This thesis heightens the formativeness of the 3D modeling from the angle of the Gestalt psychology and attempts a finding of a method as also explains among the grouping laws of Gestalt. They are the definitions and the special features of 'The Law of Proximity', 'The Law of Similarity', 'The Law of Closure', 'The Law of Continuity', etc. And, through a logical, theoretical analysis, the relationships between such laws are found out. And the case examples of the uses of such laws in the 3D animation character designs and the situation in which such laws are applied to the things in the actual lives are analyzed. If it is intended to improve the formativeness of the 3D model forms, the rules of the simplicity, the safety, and the symmetry must be pursued according to the visual recognitions of the human beings. Because the actual objects are seen and touched, other than the visual pursuits by the human beings, the functionalities and the practicalities of the objects must be considered.

  • In this Paper. we propose vision-based camera localization technique using 3D information which is created by mapping of DEM and mountain image. Typically, image features for localization have drawbacks, it is variable to camera viewpoint and after time information quantify increases . In this paper, we extract invariance features of geometry which is irrelevant to camera viewpoint and estimate camera extrinsic Parameter through accurate corresponding Points matching by Proposed similarity evaluation function and Graham search method we also propose 3D information creation method by using graphic theory and visual clues, The Proposed method has the three following stages; point features invariance vector extraction, 3D information creation, camera extrinsic Parameter estimation. In the experiments, we compare and analyse the proposed method with existing methods to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed methods.

  • In this study, an efficient method of designing laminate composite radar absorbing structures (RAS) is proposed with consideration given to the structural shape so as to improve aircraft stealth performance. The calculation of the radar cross section (RCS) should be decreased to enhance the efficiency of the stochastic optimization when designing an RAS. In the proposed method, RAS are optimized to match up the input impedance of the minimal RCS, which is obtained by using physical optics and the transmission line theory. Single and double layer dielectric RAS for aircraft wings are employed as numerical examples and designed using the proposed method, RCS minimization and reflection coefficient minimization. The availability of the proposed method is assessed by comparing the similarity of the results and computation time with other design methods. According to the results, the proposed method produces the same results as the stochastic optimization, which adopts the RCS as the objective function, and can improve RAS design efficiency by reducing the number of RCS analyses.

  • A new method to decompose the footprints of marine atmosphere boundary layer (MABL) on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery into characteristic spatial scales is proposed. Using two-dimensional Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) we obtain three Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs), which mainly present longitudinal rolls, three-dimensional cells and atmospheric gravity waves (AGW). The rolls and cells have spatial scales between 3.0 km and 3.8 km and between 5.3 km and 7.1 km, respectively. Based on previous observations and mixed-layer similarity theory, we estimated MABL's depths that vary from 0.95 km to 1.2 km over the rolls and from 3.0 km to 3.8 km over the cells. The AGW has maximum spectrum at 14.3 km wavelength. The method developed in this work can be used to decompose other satellite imageries into individual features through characteristic spatial scales.

  • Since Jacquine introduced the image coding algorithm using fractal theory, many fractal image compression algorithms providing good quality at low bit rate have been proposed by Fisher and Beaumount et al.. But a problem of the previous implementations is that the decoding rests on an iterative procedure whose complexity is image -dependent. This paper proposes an iterative-free fractal image decoding algorithm to reduce the decoding time. In the proposed method, under the encoder previously with the same codebook image as an initial image to be used at the decoder, the fractal coefficients are obtained through calculating the similarity between the codebook image and a input image to be encoded. As the decoding process can be completed with received fractal coefficients and predefined initial image without repeated iterations, the decoding time could be remarkably reduced.

  • This paper proposes an image retrieval method based on the Multiple Region-of-Interest. In the proposed method, the image is segmented into blocks, among which the blocks overlapped with multiple ROIs are selected. The similarity of images is measured using the MPEG-7 dominant color descriptor(DCD) and considering the relative location of the overlapped blocks. The experimental results showed that the proposed method improves the retrieval performance than the previous methods using the global DCD or comparing the blocks at the same position. In addition, the method that considers the relative position of blocks overlapped with the multiple ROIs also showed a better performance than the existing methods.

  • Meridian collteral and meridian points have been he base of acupunurre therapy. Also the theory have composed the main portion of oriental medicine. But the mechanism and scientific backgroud has not been completely eastablished, and the research on the objectification of diagonosis of meridian collateral and meridian points, and acupuncture therapy has been necessary nowday. A new understanding of value of oriental medicine has been increasing, the scientific understanding of meridian collateral and meridian points should have been examined. In this paper, we observed meridian point on the morphology for objectification and meridian visulalization we try to meridian point to use methylene blue and optical equipment of high power magnifications. The result of this study suggest that we can observe ruggedness part on body surface to be estimated meridian point. It is observed to have similarity each time of different meridian points. Also, we can observe part alteration of meridian points each time which observed to use method of electronic resistance of unsimilarity on the morphology.

  • Many methods and techniques have been developed to obtain the accurate design parameters in soft soils. In particular, several researchers suggest the techniques to get the void ratio for understanding the soil behavior. The objective of this paper verifies the accuracy of the proposed analytical solution for determining the void ratio based on the elastic wave velocities. The paper covers the theories of Wood, Biot, Gassmann and Foti proposed chronological order. The total theory represents the wave propagation in fully saturated medium. To verify the proposed analytical solution, the laboratory and field tests are carried out. After measuring the elastic wave, the void ratios are assessed using proposed equation. The volume based void ratios are also obtained for comparing with the estimated value by several equations. The values estimated by volume, Gassmann and Biot are show good similarity. However, the void ratios based on Wood and Foti methods have a slightly different trend. This study suggests that the theories of Biot and Gassmann may be a useful equation for assessing the void ratio using elastic wave velocities in the field.
