메타카올린 사용에 따른 콘크리트의 강도 및 염화물 저항성 (A Study on Strength and Chloride Resistance of Concrete Using the Metakaolin)

  • 최근 고층 구조물이 많이 건설되면서 콘크리트의 내구성 향상에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 고성능 콘크리트에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 최근, 실리카 흄과 같은 수준의 강도나 내구성을 확보하면서 경제적 측면에서 좀 더 유리한 메타카올린이 새로운 혼화재로 가치를 높게 평가되고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 메타카올린과 실리카 흄의 시공성, 강도 및 염화물 저항성, 50${\mu}m$이상의 거대공극 구조를 비교 평가하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 메타카올린은 실리카 흄과 동일한 수준의 시공특성을 보인다. 강도 특성의 경우 메타카올린의 대체가 가장 높은 강도를 보였다. 장 단기 염화물 저항성에서도 메타카올린의 대체가 뛰어난 성능을 보였다. 결과적으로 메타카올린 10%의 대체는 강도 및 염화물 저항성 측면에서 가장 우수한 성능을 보인다.

Metakaolin 혼합 고강도 콘크리트의 내구특성 예측 (Estimation on the Durability of High-Strength Concrete using Metakaolin)

  • 메타카올린은 고성능 콘크리트를 제조하기 위해 콘크리트에 혼합재로서 사용되는 결합재의 일종이다. 이 재료는 일반적으로 국내에서는 내화벽돌의 재료로 많이 사용되었으나, 현재는 이러한 고성능 콘크리트를 제조하기 위하여 필요한 실리카흄의 대용으로 사용되어지고 있다. 본 연구는 실리카흄 및 메타카올린 두 결합재를 콘크리트 중에 일정량 치환하여 몰르타르 및 콘크리트의 압축강도, 인장강도, 휨강도와 같은 역학적 시험뿐만 아니라, 염소이온확산시험, 화학침식에 대한 저항성 시험, 동결융해저항성 시험과 같은 내구성시험을 병행 실시하였다. 역학적 시험결과 메타카올린을 결합재전체 대비 10에서 15%정도 치환 사용했을 때 가장 적당한 강도결과를 보였다. 그리고, 메타카올린 및 실리카흄 두 결합재의 치환율이 증가할수록 염소이온확산이 훨씬 줄어드는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고, 두 결합재의 미세분말에 의한 충전효과에 의해 일반 콘크리트에 비해 화학적침식저항성이 훨씬 뛰어남을 보였다. 다른 내구성 시험에서도 메타카올린을 사용한 콘크리트가 실리카흄을 사용한 콘크리트에 상응하는 상당한 역학적, 내구특성을 가지고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서, 이들 시험을 통해 우리는 메타카올린이라는 재료가 충분히 고가의 실리카흄을 대체가능할 수 있을 것이라고 판단할 수 있었다.

4성분계 콘크리트의 염해 저항성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on Chloride Attack Resistibility of Quaternary Concrete)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 플라이 애시, 고로슬래그 미분말, 실리카흄을 사용하여 4성분계 콘크리트의 염해 저항성능을 평가하기 위한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 압축강도, 탄성계수, 염수침지 시험, 염화물 확산계수 및 침투계수를 실시하였다. 4성분계 콘크리트의 염화물 확산계수와 침투계수는 재령 17주에 $0.032{\times}10^{-12}m^2/sec$와 650 coulomb으로 측정되었다. 또한 침지시험 결과 염화물 이온 침투깊이와 염화물량은 3.7 mm and $10.211kg/m^3$로 측정 되었다. 이러한 결과로부터 플라이 애시, 고로슬래그 미분말, 실리카흄을 사용하여 제조한 4성분계 콘크리트는 염해 저항성능과 역학적 특성이 매우 높을 것을 알 수 있었다.

복합열화 환경을 받는 콘크리트 시설물을 위한 보수용 폴리머 시멘트 복합체의 내구성능 향상에 관한 연구 (Enhanced Durability Performance of Polymer Modified Cement Composites for Concrete Repair Under Combined Aging Conditions)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the durability performance of polymer modified cement composites for repair of concrete under combined aging conditions. The experimental procedure was divided into three parts. First, the replacement level of mineral admixtures in polymer modified cement composites were determined in an experimental study based on a Box Behnken design. Second, the flow value, compressive strength and chloride permeability test of sixteen types of mixtures were conducted. Test results show that the polymer modified cement composites were effected on the improvement of the compressive strength and permeability performance. Third, the effects on the replacement level of silica fume mixture was evaluated by the compressive strength, chloride permeability, chemical resistance and repeated freezing and thawing cycles test. They demonstrated that the polymer modified cement composites using mixture of silica fume, fly ash, and blast furnace slag improved the durability performance.

A Study on the Effect of Polyamine on the Adsorption of Asphalt-Like Functionalities onto Silica Surface

  • The effect of precoating of silica with polyamine surfactants on the adsorption of five model compounds containing asphalt-like functionalities was studied. Hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (HDTMA) and 1-hexadecylamine were used for silica precoating. The model compounds representing five asphalt functionalities were benzoic acid, phenol, benzylbenzoate, benzophenone, and quinoline. All the adsorption isotherms conformed well to the Langmuir adsorption model. All the model compounds showed decreased adsorption with the HDTMA precoating. However, two acidic compounds, benzoic acid and phenol, showed enhanced adsorption on the silica precoated with 1-hexadecylamine. In aqueous solutions, the adsorption of the acidic compounds were in the following order: silica precoated with 1-hexadecylamine > silica precoated with HDTMA > uncoated silica.

실리카퓸을 혼합한 시멘트 콘크리트의 역학적 특성 및 내구성 (Mechanical Properties and Durability of Cement Concrete Incorporating Silica Fume)

  • This paper presents the results of experimental work on both mechanical properties and durability of concrete or mortar incorporating silica fume. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of replacement of silica fume on the performance of hardened concrete or mortar. The replacement levels of silica fume that replaced cement in this work were 0%, 5%, 10% and 15%, respectively. The results of this study indicate that both mechanical properties and durability of concrete are greatly dependent on the replacement levels of silica fume. As the replacement level of silica fume increased, the mechanical properties including compressive and flexural strengths, and static modulus of elasticity were proportionally enhanced. Furthermore, it was found that silica fume had some beneficial effects on the resistances to both chloride ions penetration and sodium sulfate attack. However, it exhibited poor resistances to both freezing-thawing action and magnesium sulfate attack.

  • Manganese(III) 5-(4-carboxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl porphyrin chloride (Mn(TCPP)Cl) was grafted through amide bond on silica zeolite Y (HY), zeolite beta ($H{\beta}$) and hexagonal mesoporous silica (HMS). XRD, ICP-AES, $N_2$ physisorption, SEM, TEM, FTIR and thermal analysis were employed to analyse these novel heterogeneous materials. These silica supported catalysts were shown to be used for epoxidation and good shape selectivity was observed. The effect of support structure on catalytic performance was also discussed. The catalytic activity remained when the catalysts were recycled five times. The energy changes about epoxidation of alkenes by $NaIO_4$ and $H_2O_2$ were also computationally calculated to explain the different catalytic efficiency.

In-situ modification of PVC UF membrane by SiO2 sol in the coagulation bath during NIPS process

  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) ultrafiltration (UF) membrane was modified by silica sol in the coagulation bath during non-solvent induced phase separation (NIPS) process. The effects of silica sol concentrations on the morphology, surface property, mechanical strength and separation property of PVC UF membranes were systematically investigated. PVC membranes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), contact angle goniometry and tensile strength measurement. The results showed that silica had been successfully assembled on the surface of PVC UF membrane. With the increase of silica sol concentration in the coagulation bath, the morphologies of PVC UF membranes changed from cavity structure to finger-like pore structure and asymmetric cross-section structure. The hydrophilicity and permeability of PVC UF membranes were further evaluated. When silica sol concentration was 20 wt.%, the modified PVC membrane exhibited the highest hydrophilicity with a static contact angle of $36.5^{\circ}$ and permeability of $91.8(L{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}h^{-1})$. The structure of self-assemble silica had significant impact on the surface property, morphology, mechanical strength and resultant separation performance of the PVC membranes.

혼화재를 혼입한 콘크리트의 염화물 고정화에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Chloride Binding in Concrete with Mneral Amixtures)

  • The chloride ion penetrating into concrete is classified as the fixed chloride ion being bound in reacting to cement hydrate and the free chloride ion having a direct effect on rebar corrosion because being in solution inside porosity of concrete. Therefore, in order to study the diffusion properties of chloride ion, it is needed to evaluate binding chloride ion in concrete. In this study, we tried to give a fundamental information on diffusion of chloride ion in concrete with mineral admixtures through analysis of micro-structure transformations in concrete and effects on binding of chloride ion in cement paste when mixed with fly-ash, blast furnace slag, silica fume etc. which are used to improve durability and permeability of concrete

GC를 이용한 극성용매의 분석방법 개발 연구 (Study on Development of Analytical Method for Polar Solvents by GC)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to simplify and standardize analytical method of polar solvents(methanol, isopropanol, n-butanol, acetone, methylene chloride and MIBK) in the working environmental by GC. Because NIOSH methods are various and complicated. Methods: The method is using the same stationary phase(5% phenyl 95% dimethylpolysiloxane), absorbent(silica gel) and desorption solvent(DMSO) for above 6 solvents. For the 6 solvents desorption efficiency, calibration curve, and limit of detection were studied Results: As the results, 6 solvents{2 groups ; first group(methanol/isopropanol/butanol) and second group(acetone/methylene chloride/MIBK)} could be separated and quantified within 10 minutes. Desorption efficiency from silica gell of 6 solvents using dimethylsulfoxide(DMSO) was methanol 86.2%, isopropanol 103.2%, n-butanol 101.8%, acetone 98.2%, methylene chloride 103.9% and MIBK 106.2% in the range of 0.2, 0.5, 2.0 times of TWA, consequently, satisfied NIOSH estimation level(beyond 75%). Correlation coefficient(r)in the range of 0.2~2.0 times of TWA, was above 0.999 for 6 solvent. LOD(mg/DMSO ml) using calibration curve in the range of 0.2~2 times of TWA was methanol 0.11, isopropyl alcohol 0.20, n-butanol 0.03, acetone 0.50, methylene chloride 0.05, MIBK 0.04 respectably. Conclusions: This method can be used at the sampling and analytical method for polar solvents by GC. Also, will be able to be applied with NIOSH methods.
