Bridge circuit was developed such that the pressure wave in the inkjet can be measured. In order to test the circuit, the microfab single ejector was used. For the experiment, the head was filled with nano silver ink (20wt%). In order to generate waveform voltage for jetting signal, the Agilent 33120 was used in order to generate arbitrary waveform. For the driver, PZD 350 from TREK was used in order to amplify the waveform. Experimental results show that the designed circuit can effectively detect the pressure wave in the inkjet head.
In this paper, a pitch cycle waveform (PCW) is extracted, quantized, and interpolated in a time domain to synthesize high-quality speech at low bit rates. The pre-alignment technique is proposed for the accurate and efficient PCW extraction, which predicts the current PCW position from the previous PCW position assuming that pitch periods evolve slowly. Since the pitch periods are different frame by frame, the original PCW is converted into the fixed-dimension PCW using the dimension-conversion method, and subsequently quantized by code-excited linear predictive (CELP) coding. The excitation signal for the linear predictive coding (LPC) synthesis filter is generated using the time-domain interpolation and interlink of the quantized PCW's. The coder operates at 4.2 kbit/s and 3.2 kbit/s depending on the pitch period. Informal listening test demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed coding scheme.
In order to obtain better target identification performance, an efficient waveform design method with high range resolution and low sidelobe level for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar is proposed in this paper. First, the wideband CP-based OFDM signal is transmitted on each antenna to guarantee large bandwidth and high range resolution. Next, a complex orthogonal design (COD) is utilized to achieve code domain orthogonality among antennas, so that the spatial diversity can be obtained in MIMO radar, and only the range sidelobe on the first antenna needs suppressing. Furthermore, sidelobe suppression is expressed as an optimization problem. The integrated sidelobe level (ISL) is adopted to construct the objective function, which is solved using the Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (BFGS) algorithm. The numerical results demonstrate the superiority in performance (high resolution, strict orthogonality, and low sidelobe level) of the proposed method compared to existing algorithms.
This paper proposes a low-power waveform for a long-range air-to-air data link. In the case of an air-to-air data link, data communication is performed in the air and high Doppler shift may occur depending on the flight speed, so a waveform based on the non-coherent method is suitable. In addition, since it is mounted on an aircraft, it must have low power characteristics. This paper proposes a waveform that combines a modulation technique based on frequency modulation and pulse position modulation that can turn on/off the transmission signal. As a result of the performance analysis, it was shown that the performance was suitable for air-to-air operation while showing low power characteristics.
The main objective of this study is to determine if the sources of AE in corroded specimens of aluminum could be identified iron the characteristics of the waveform signals recorded during fatigue loading. Coupons of notched 2024-T3 aluminum with or without corrosion (at the notch) were subjected to fatigue loading and the AE signals were recorded using non-resonant, flat, wide-band transducers. The time history and power spectrum of each individual wave signal recorded during fatigue crack growth were examined and classified according to their special characteristics. Five distinct types of signals were observed regardless of specimen condition. The waveform and power spectra were shown to be dependent on specimen condition. During the initial phase of crack growth, the signals obtained in the as-received specimens are most probably due to transgranular cleavage caused by extrusion and intrusion under fatigue loading. In the corroded specimen the signal are probably generated by intergranular cleavage due to embrittlement of grain boundary neat the pitting tip. The need for additional research to further validate these findings is indicated.

A new digital clock level translator has been designed in order to produce a clock source of the internal logic circuits. The translator output has 50% duty ratio from small sinusoidal input such as TCXO which oscillates itself in poratable components. The circuit consists of positive and negative comparators, RS latch, charge pump, and reference vol- tage generator. It detects pulse width of the output waveform and feedbacks the control signal to the input com-parator. It detects pulse width of the output waveform and feedbacks the control signal to the input com-parator reference, producing output waveform with valid 50% duty ratio of the digital signal level. The designed level translator can be used as a sampling clock source of ADC, PLL and the colck source of the clock synthesizer. The circuit wasdesigned in a 0.8.mu.m analog CMOS technology with double metal, double poly, and BSIM3 circuit simulation model. From our experimental results, a stable operating characteristics of 50 +3% duty ratio was obtained from the sinusoidal input wave of 370 mV.
The waveform data of the Airborne Bathymetric LiDAR (ABL; LiDAR: Light Detection And Ranging) system provides data with improved accuracy, resolution, and reliability compared to the discrete-return data, and increases the user's control over data processing. Furthermore, we are able to extract additional information about the return signal. Waveform decomposition is a technique that separates each echo from the received waveform with a mixture of water surface and seabed reflections, waterbody backscattering, and various noises. In this study, a new waveform decomposition technique based on a Gaussian model was developed to improve the point extraction performance from the ABL waveform data. In the existing waveform decomposition techniques, the number of decomposed echoes and decomposition performance depend on the peak detection results because they use waveform peaks as initial values. However, in the study, we improved the approximation accuracy of the decomposition model by adding the estimated potential peak candidates to the initial peaks. As a result of an experiment using waveform data obtained from the East Coast from the Seahawk system, the precision of the decomposition model was improved by about 37% based on evaluating RMSE compared to the Gaussian decomposition method.

A-Scan NDT equipment is widely used in the industrial field because it is inexpensive and easy to carry but it is necessary to have a skilled inspection specialist who is trained to analyze the waveform of ultrasonic signal. Since the welding quality is judged subjectively by the specialist, there is a problem in the reliability of the quality. In the C-Scan NDT which overcomes the shortcomings of the A-Scan, welding part can be represented in the form of two dimensional image by combining one dimensional ultrasonic waveform so that the quality of welding can be grasped without the help of specialist. In order to develop C-Scan NDT, it is necessary to develop an array type two dimensional transducer and an algorithm to composing image by combining ultrasonic signals generated from a two dimensional transducer. In addition, the noise component must be minimized in the ultrasonic signal in order to display the quality of welding in the form of images. Therefore we propose a method to remove noise component from the ultrasonic wave and construct a two dimensional ultrasonic image.
The method for analyzing the recording and reading process of magnetic recording system by numerical simulation is introduced. which can simulate the effect of elements of the magnetic recording system. During the whole simulation, hysteresis characteristics must be included. Preisach model and finite element method are used to construct the algorithm. From the wave of recording current, recorded pattern of magnetization in recording media is simulated in recording process, and then waveform of reading signal in head coil is obtained in reading process. To show the validity of this method, this is applied to perpendicular magnetic recording system. Waveform of recording signal and reproduced signal is obtained in several density. Pattern of reprocuced voltage magnitude according to increase of recording density shows roll-off curve.

Many application scenarios of ultra-wideband(UWB) radio assume non-line-of-sigit(non-LoS) signal propagations. Through-material propagation of UWB signal introduces a distortion of the waveform as well as attenuation, which will introduce a decrease of the correlation coefficient between the correlator template and the received signal. A hypothesis test approach to selection of the template waveform for UWB rake receivers is posed. Linde-Buzo-Gray(LBG) algorithm is used to select the candidate waveforms which are used to setup the hypothesis test. The performance of the algorithm is tested using a set of indoor non-LoS propagation measurement data.
