The ITL (information theoretic learning) based on the kernel density estimation method that has successfully been applied to machine learning and signal processing applications has a drawback of severe sensitiveness in choosing proper kernel sizes. For the maximization of correntropy criterion (MCC) as one of the ITL-type criteria, several methods of adapting the remaining kernel size ( ) after removing the term have been studied. In this paper, it is shown that the main cause of sensitivity in choosing the kernel size derives from the term and that the adaptive adjustment of in the remaining terms leads to approach the absolute value of error, which prevents the weight adjustment from continuing. Thus, it is proposed that choosing an appropriate constant as the kernel size for the remaining terms is more effective. In addition, the experiment results when compared to the conventional algorithm show that the proposed method enhances learning performance by about 2dB of steady state MSE with the same convergence rate. In an experiment for channel models, the proposed method enhances performance by 4 dB so that the proposed method is more suitable for more complex or inferior conditions.

In this paper, we propose a RST resistant robust logo embedding technique for multimedia copyright protection Geometric manipulations are challenging attacks in that they do not introduce the quality degradation very much but make the detection process very complex and difficult. Watermark embedding in the normalized image directly suffers from smoothing effect due to the interpolation during the image normalization. This can be avoided by estimating the transform parameters using an image normalization technique, instead of embedding in the normalized image. Conventional RST resistant schemes that use full frame transform suffer from the absence of effective perceptual masking methods. Thus, we adopt $8\times8$ block DCT and calculate masking using a spatio-frequency localization of the $8\times8$ block DCT coefficients. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is robust against various signal processing techniques, compression and geometrical manipulations.

We developed a model to classify the absence of cervical cancer using deep learning from the cervical image to which the histogram equalization algorithm was applied, and to compare the performance of each model. A total of 4259 images were used for this study, of which 1852 images were normal and 2407 were abnormal. And this paper applied Image Sharpening(IS), Histogram Equalization(HE), and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization(CLAHE) to the original image. Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR) and Structural Similarity index for Measuring image quality(SSIM) were used to assess the quality of images objectively. As a result of assessment, IS showed 81.75dB of PSNR and 0.96 of SSIM, showing the best image quality. CLAHE and HE showed the PSNR of 62.67dB and 62.60dB respectively, while SSIM of CLAHE was shown as 0.86, which is closer to 1 than HE of 0.75. Using ResNet-50 model with transfer learning, digital image-processed images are classified into normal and abnormal each. In conclusion, the classification accuracy of each model is as follows. 90.77% for IS, which shows the highest, 90.26% for CLAHE and 87.60% for HE. As this study shows, applying proper digital image processing which is for cervical images to Computer Aided Diagnosis(CAD) can help both screening and diagnosing.

Noise is a serious issue. While sending images via electronic communication, Impulse noise, which is created by unsteady voltage, is one of the most common noises in digital communication. During the acquisition process, pictures were collected. It is possible to obtain accurate diagnosis images by removing these noises without affecting the edges and tiny features. The New Average High Noise Density Median Filter. (HNDMF) was proposed in this paper, and it operates in two steps for each pixel. Filter can decide whether the test pixels is degraded by SPN. In the first stage, a detector identifies corrupted pixels, in the second stage, an algorithm replaced by noise free processed pixel, the New average suggested Filter produced for this window. The paper examines the performance of Gaussian Filter (GF), Adaptive Median Filter (AMF), and PHDNF. In this paper the comparison of known image denoising is discussed and a new decision based weighted median filter used to remove impulse noise. Using Mean Square Error (MSE), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), and Structure Similarity Index Method (SSIM) metrics, the paper examines the performance of Gaussian Filter (GF), Adaptive Median Filter (AMF), and PHDNF. A detailed simulation process is performed to ensure the betterment of the presented model on the Mini-MIAS dataset. The obtained experimental values stated that the HNDMF model has reached to a better performance with the maximum picture quality. images affected by various amounts of pretend salt and paper noise, as well as speckle noise, are calculated and provided as experimental results. According to quality metrics, the HNDMF Method produces a superior result than the existing filter method. Accurately detect and replace salt and pepper noise pixel values with mean and median value in images. The proposed method is to improve the median filter with a significant change.

In manufacturing and semiconductor industries, transfer robots increase productivity through accurate and continuous work. Due to the nature of the semiconductor process, there are environments where humans cannot intervene to maintain internal temperature and humidity in a clean room. So, transport robots take responsibility over humans. In such an environment where the manpower of the process is cutting down, the lack of maintenance and management technology of the machine may adversely affect the production, and that's why it is necessary to develop a technology for the machine failure diagnosis system. Therefore, this paper tries to identify various causes of failure of transport robots that are widely used in semiconductor automation, and the Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) method is considered for determining and predicting the process of failures. The robot mainly fails in the driving unit due to long-term repetitive motion, and the core components of the driving unit are motors and gear reducer. A simulation drive unit was manufactured and tested around this component and then applied to 6-axis vertical multi-joint robots used in actual industrial sites. Vibration data was collected for each cause of failure of the robot, and then the collected data was processed through signal processing and frequency analysis. The processed data can determine the fault of the robot by utilizing machine learning algorithms such as SVM (Support Vector Machine) and KNN (K-Nearest Neighbor). As a result, the PHM environment was built based on machine learning algorithms using SVM and KNN, confirming that failure prediction was partially possible.
Digital hearing aids offer many advantages over conventional analog hearing aids. With the advent of high speed digital signal processing chips, new digital techniques have been introduced to digital hearing aids. In addition, the evaluation of new ideas in hearing aids is necessarily accompanied by intensive subject-based clinical tests which requires much time and cost. In this paper, we present an objective method to evaluate and predict the performance of hearing aid systems without the help of such subject-based tests. In the hearing impairment simulation(HIS) algorithm, a sensorineural hearing impairment medel is established from auditory test data of the impaired subject being simulated. Also, the nonlinear behavior of the loudness recruitment is defined using hearing loss functions generated from the measurements. To transform the natural input sound into the impaired one, a frequency sampling filter is designed. The filter is continuously refreshed with the level-dependent frequency response function provided by the impairment model. To assess the performance, the HIS algorithm was implemented in real-time using a floating-point DSP. Signals processed with the real-time system were presented to normal subjects and their auditory data modified by the system was measured. The sensorineural hearing impairment was simulated and tested. The threshold of hearing and the speech discrimination tests exhibited the efficiency of the system in its use for the hearing impairment simulation. Using the HIS system we evaluated three typical hearing aid algorithms.

Ad-Hoc network is a network architecture which has no backbone network and is deployed temporarily and rapidly in emergency or war without fixed mobile infrastructures. All communications between network entities are carried in ad-hoc networks over the wireless medium. Due to the radio communications being extremely vulnerable to propagation impairments, connectivity between network nodes is not guaranteed. Therefore, many new algorithms have been studied recently. This study proposes the secondary header approach to the cluster based routing protocol (CBRP). The primary header becomes abnormal status so that the primary header can not participate in the communications between network entities, the secondary header immediately replaces the primary header without selecting process of the new primary header. This improves the routing interruption problem that occurs when a header is moving out from a cluster or in the abnormal status. The performances of proposed algorithm ACBRP(Advanced Cluster Based Routing Protocol) are compared with CBRP. The cost of the primary header reelection of ACBRP is simulated. And results are presented in order to show the effectiveness of the algorithm.

The Goldschmidt iterative algorithm for finding a floating point square root calculated it by performing a fixed number of multiplications. In this paper, a variable latency Goldschmidt's square root algorithm is proposed, that performs multiplications a variable number of times until the error becomes smaller than a given value. To find the square root of a floating point number F, the algorithm repeats the following operations: $R_i=\frac{3-e_r-X_i}{2},\;X_{i+1}=X_i{\times}R^2_i,\;Y_{i+1}=Y_i{\times}R_i,\;i{\in}\{{0,1,2,{\ldots},n-1} }}'$with the initial value is $'\;X_0=Y_0=T^2{\times}F,\;T=\frac{1}{\sqrt {F}}+e_t\;'$. The bits to the right of p fractional bits in intermediate multiplication results are truncated, and this truncation error is less than $'e_r=2^{-p}'$. The value of p is 28 for the single precision floating point, and 58 for the doubel precision floating point. Let $'X_i=1{\pm}e_i'$, there is $'\;X_{i+1}=1-e_{i+1},\;where\;'\;e_{i+1}<\frac{3e^2_i}{4}{\mp}\frac{e^3_i}{4}+4e_{r}'$. If '|X_i-1|<2^{\frac{-p+2}{2}}\;'$ is true, $'\;e_{i+1}<8e_r\;'$ is less than the smallest number which is representable by floating point number. So, $\sqrt{F}$ is approximate to $'\;\frac{Y_{i+1}}{T}\;'$. Since the number of multiplications performed by the proposed algorithm is dependent on the input values, the average number of multiplications per an operation is derived from many reciprocal square root tables ($T=\frac{1}{\sqrt{F}}+e_i$) with varying sizes. The superiority of this algorithm is proved by comparing this average number with the fixed number of multiplications of the conventional algorithm. Since the proposed algorithm only performs the multiplications until the error gets smaller than a given value, it can be used to improve the performance of a square root unit. Also, it can be used to construct optimized approximate reciprocal square root tables. The results of this paper can be applied to many areas that utilize floating point numbers, such as digital signal processing, computer graphics, multimedia, scientific computing, etc.

The Goldschmidt iterative algorithm for a floating point divide calculates it by performing a fixed number of multiplications. In this paper, a variable latency Goldschmidt's divide algorithm is proposed, that performs multiplications a variable number of times until the error becomes smaller than a given value. To calculate a floating point divide '$\frac{N}{F}$', multifly '$T=\frac{1}{F}+e_t$' to the denominator and the nominator, then it becomes ’$\frac{TN}{TF}=\frac{N_0}{F_0}$'. And the algorithm repeats the following operations: ’$R_i=(2-e_r-F_i),\;N_{i+1}=N_i{\ast}R_i,\;F_{i+1}=F_i{\ast}R_i$, i$\in${0,1,...n-1}'. The bits to the right of p fractional bits in intermediate multiplication results are truncated, and this truncation error is less than ‘$e_r=2^{-p}$'. The value of p is 29 for the single precision floating point, and 59 for the double precision floating point. Let ’$F_i=1+e_i$', there is $F_{i+1}=1-e_{i+1},\;e_{i+1}',\;where\;e_{i+1}, If '$[F_i-1]<2^{\frac{-p+3}{2}}$ is true, ’$e_{i+1}<16e_r$' is less than the smallest number which is representable by floating point number. So, ‘$N_{i+1}$ is approximate to ‘$\frac{N}{F}$'. Since the number of multiplications performed by the proposed algorithm is dependent on the input values, the average number of multiplications per an operation is derived from many reciprocal tables ($T=\frac{1}{F}+e_t$) with varying sizes. 1'he superiority of this algorithm is proved by comparing this average number with the fixed number of multiplications of the conventional algorithm. Since the proposed algorithm only performs the multiplications until the error gets smaller than a given value, it can be used to improve the performance of a divider. This paper suggests an extended memory polynomial model that improves accuracy in modeling memory effects of RF power amplifiers(PAs), and verifies effectiveness of the suggested method. The extended memory polynomial model includes cross-terms that are products of input terms that have different delay values to improve the limited accuracy of basic memory polynomial model that includes the diagonal terms of Volterra kernels. The complexity of the memoryless model, memory polynomial model, and the suggested model are compared. The extended memory polynomial model is represented with a matrix equation, and the Volterra kernels are extracted using least square method. In addition, the structure of digital predistorter and digital signal processing(DSP) algorithm based on the suggested model and indirect learning method are proposed to implement a digital predistortion linearization. To verify the suggested model, the predicted output of the model is compared with the measured output for a 10W GaN HEMT RF PA and 30 W LDMOS RF PA using 2.3 GHz WiBro input signal, and adjacent-channel power ratio(ACPR) performance with the proposed digital predistortion is measured. The proposed model increases model accuracy for the PAs, and improves the linearization performance by reducing ACPR.
