  • New power factor correction(PFC) technique based on the averaged model of boost converter is proposed. Without measurement of input current, power factor correction scheme derived from the averaged model is presented. With the measurements of input voltage and output voltage, the control signal is generated to make the shape of the line current same as the input voltage. The characteristics of input line current distortion is analyzed by considering the generation of duty cycle.

  • This paper presents a direct thrust control scheme for permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM) by using digital signal processor(DSP). And a simulation method for the direct thrust control of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor using the equivalent circuit is presented. The detent force that was obtained by cubic spline method is considered in the simulation. Thrust correction coefficient is utilized to estimate actual thrust on the direct thrust control, which considers the longitudinal end effect due to the finite core length of the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor. The motor self inductance, the initial flux linkage by the permanent magnet is calculated in advance by the finite element analysis, and then the direct control simulation is carried out. As the results, thrust, current and speed are shwon.

  • A new small-signal model for the controlled on-time boost Power factor correction (PFC) circuit is Presented. The proposed small-signal model is valid up to high frequencies ever 1kHz. IF to remove the low-frequency ripple from the output a 120Hz notch filter is used the proposed model can be used for the control design of the PFC circuit to improve the dynamics of the output voltage. The accuracy of the model is confirmed by comparing the experimental results with the simulational result.

  • To quantify the LII signals from soot particle of flames in diesel engine cylinder, a new method has been proposed for correcting LII signal attenuated by soot particles between the measuring point and the detector. It has been verified by an experiment on a laminar jet ethylene-air diffusion flame. Being proportional to the attenuation, the ratio of LII signal at two different detection wavelengths can be used to correct the measured LIIsignal and obtain the unattenuated LII signal, from which the soot volume fraction in the flame can be estimated. Both the 1064-nm and frequency-doubled 532-nm beams from the Nd : YAG laser are used. Single-shot, one-dimensional(1-D) line images are recorded on the intensified CCD camera, with the rectangular-profile laser beam using 1-mm-diameter pinhole. Two broadband optical interference filters having the center wavelengths of 647 nm and 400 nm respectively and a bandwidth of 10 nm are used. This two-wavelength correction has been applied to the ethylene-air coannular laminar diffusion flame, previously studied on soot formation by the laser extinction method in this laboratory. The results by the LII measurement technique and the conventional laser extinction method at the height of 40 nm above the jet exit agreed well with each other except around outside of the peaks of soot concentration, where the soot concentration was relatively high and resulting attenuation of the LII signal was large. The radial profile shape of soot concentration was not changed a lot, but the absolute value of the soot volume fraction around outside edge changed from 4ppm to 6.5 ppm at r=2.8mm after correction. This means that the attenuation of LII signal was approximately 40% at this point, which is higher than the average attenuation rate of this flame, 10~15%.

  • Real-time service (RTS) provided by IGS provides correction for GNSS orbit and clock via internet, so it is widely used in fields that require real-time precise positioning. However, the RTS signal may be lost due to an unstable Internet environment. When signal disconnection occurs, signal prediction can be performed using polynomial models. However, the RTS changes rapidly after the GNSS navigation message issue of data (IOD) changes, so it is difficult to predict when signal loss occurs at that point. In this study, we proposed an algorithm to generate continuous RTS correction information by applying the difference in navigation trajectory according to IOD change. The use of this algorithm can improve the accuracy of RTS prediction at IOD changes. After performing optimization studies to improve RTS prediction performance, the predicted RTS trajectory information was applied to precision positioning (PPP). Compared to the conventional method, the position error is significantly reduced, and the error increase along with the signal loss interval increase is reduced.

  • Geostationary ocean satellite, unlike other sun-synchronous polar-orbit satellites, will be able to take a picture of a large region several times a day (almost with every one hour interval). For geostationary satellite, the target region is fixed though the location of sun is changed always. Thus, the ocean signal of a given target point is largely dependent on time. In other words, the ocean signal detected by geostationary satellite sensor must translate to the signal of target when both sun and satellite are located in nadir, using another correction model. This correction is performed with a standardization of signal throughout relative geometric relationship among satellite - sun - target points. One signal value of a selected pixel point of the target region of Geostationary Ocean Colour Imager (GOCI) would be set up as a standard, and the ratio of all remained pixel point can be calculated. This relative ratio called bidirectional factor, the result of modelling of spatiotemporal variation of bidirectional factor is shown.

  • In this paper, to enhance the performance of ${\pi}$/4-DQPSK (${\pi}$/4-differential quadrature phase shift keying), the scheme using nonredundant multiple error correction is proposed and investigated. This scheme for the differential detection of ${\pi}$/4-DQPSK uses the signal output which is delayed for more than two time slots as the parity check bit and applies it to nonredundant multiple error correction. The proposed system was used for studying the performance of ${\pi}$/4-DQPSK with Nonredundant Error Correction (NEC) in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and Nakagami fade modeled mobile communication channel, and it was observed that the performance increased as the error correction capability increased.

  • This paper proposes the algorithm for the correction of a position and orientation of small object such as chip in the precise construction process. In the past, it is general to correct position and orientation of object using human sight and simple vision sensors. But recently, researches using image processing devices have been studied to improve the corrective precision of a position and orientation of object. In this piper, maximum-axis moment and p-theta algorithm are used to correct the position and orientation. Algorithm of maximum-axis moment is widely applied to hetero-object except being applied to a perfect rectangle. This is reason that moments of the X and Y-axis are equal. Therefore, being the shape of a perfect rectangle, the object is applied to other algorithm. In the light of time problem, real-time control is as important as correction of object. To solve it, we use the DSP(Digital Signal Processing) which is far more fast than PC.
