멀티모달 가이던스가 독보 기능 습득에 미치는 영향: 드럼 타격 시퀀스에서의 사례 연구 (Effects of Multi-modal Guidance for the Acquisition of Sight Reading Skills: A Case Study with Simple Drum Sequences)

  • We introduce a learning system for the sight reading of simple drum sequences. Sight reading is a cognitive-motor skill that requires reading of music symbols and actions of multiple limbs for playing the music. The system provides knowledge of results (KR) pertaining to the learner's performance by color-coding music symbols, and guides the learner by indicating the corresponding action for a given music symbol using additional auditory or vibrotactile cues. To evaluate the effects of KR and guidance cues, three learning methods were experimentally compared: KR only, KR with auditory cues, and KR with vibrotactile cues. The task was to play a random 16-note-long drum sequence displayed on a screen. Thirty university students learned the task using one of the learning methods in a between-subjects design. The experimental results did not show statistically significant differences between the methods in terms of task accuracy and completion time.

A Study on Promoting Early Reading Ability through an Explicit High-frequency Sight Word Instruction

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of an explicit word instruction for EFL beginning readers and their perception on the learning experience. Data were attained from 16 fourth graders who took English class as a development activity. Data include the results of pre- and post-test of high frequency sight word recognition, oral reading ability, students' survey responses, and teacher observation. The descriptive statistics were obtained for the result of the pre- and post-test. The findings from the student survey and teacher observation were also provided and interpreted to better understand the result of project and students' perception on the learning experience. The followings are the results of this study. The word recognition ability of the students was dramatically improved after the project. The students were satisfied with the overall learning experience perceiving it as helpful and fun learning. They expressed that the explicit word instruction helped their word recognition and reading ability. The results also supported that the confidence of students on their reading ability were heightened. Several suggestions are made for teachers and researchers on the word instruction for young EFL learners who are beginning readers.

대학생들의 생활습관이 시력에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 치기공과 재학생을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Impact of Life Habits on Eyesight among College Students (centering on students studying Dental Technology))

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the eyesight and life habits of college students in an attempt to provide some information on the protection of their eyesight. Methods: The subjects in this study were 311 students in the department of dental technology at a college of health, on whom a survey was conducted. A crosstabulation analysis was carried out to show the joint distribution of general characteristics and several variables involving the use of glasses or contact lenses and life habits. Results: 77.5% of the students currently wore glasses due to weak sight. 9.3% took an eye test on a regular basis, and 31.2% did that every six months. As for the length of the length of daily mean reading time, 55.3% spent one hour or less reading books. The most common distance between eyes and books during their reading(44.7%) was 21 to 25. Concerning a reading posture, the biggest group(54.3%) lay down or lay on their face while they read books. 45.0 % spent less than an hour watching TV per day on average, and 27.0% were on the computer for 30 minutes to less than an hour per day on average. The greatest group(63.0%) made use of basic indoor lighting when they were on the computer at night, and 62.1% saw eye doctors to take an eye test. In relation to how to protect eyesight, the biggest group(50.5%) spent less time being on the computer. Conclusion: As the eyesight of college students fails due to reading, TV, computer, and improper ways and posture of doing or using those things, every college definitely should provide education on eye health as one of general education courses.

인터넷 배너광고에서의 키네틱 타이포그래피의 표현에 관한 연구 (A Study on Application of Kinetic Typography on the Internet Banner Advertising)

  • 현대의 첨단 기술은 활자 중심의 문화에서 시각과 청각 중심의 문화로 발전되었다. 이러한 발전은 보여 지고, 들려지는 것에 대한 수요자의 관심과 욕구를 높였으며, 그에 따른 활용영역과 유형이 다양한 모습으로 연구 발전되어지고 있다. 특히 초고속 인터넷이 보편화되고 인터넷이 광고매체로서의 위상도 확고해짐에 따라, 인터넷 배너광고는 매년 2배가 넘는 성장세를 기록하고 있다. 키네틱 타이포그래피는 이러한 멀티미디어의 급속한 발전과 함께 다양한 모습으로 활용되어지고 있다. 이러한 일련의 과정에서 가장 중요시 되는 것은 키네틱 타이포그래피의 움직임의 표현이라 할 수 있다. 기존의 읽는 것에 의해 얻을 수 있었던 정보는 보고, 듣는 다차원적 정보획득의 과정으로 전환되었다. 따라서 인터넷을 통한 수요자의 정보 획득에 있어서 훨씬 능동적이면서 흥미로운 요소를 고려한 효과적인 표현이야말로 보다 긍정적인 상승효과를 이끌어 낼 수 있다. 이러한 상승효과를 이끌러내기 위해 인터넷 배너광고에서는 더욱 다양한 새로운 표현기법을 시도해야 한다. 특히 정보의 획득에 있어서 보는 사람에게 읽혀지는 부분을 담당하게 될 키네틱 타이포그래피의 역할이 커짐에 따라 인터넷 배너광고에서 그것을 표현하는 원리와 표현하는 요소에는 어떤 것들이 있는가에 대하여 살펴본 후 표현 유형과 표현 구조에 대하여 고찰하고 그에 따른 자료를 정리하고, 분석하여 발전방향을 제시하였다.

다산(茶山) 우화시(寓話詩)의 확장(擴張)과 전이(轉移) -<오즉어행>과 <리노행>을 중심(中心)으로- (Expansion and Transition of Tasan's Allegoric Poetry)

  • Tasan Jeong Yak-yong is great scholar, who makes a synthesis of Sil-hak[實學, Practical Science of Korea], reformer of society, and a poet in the Joseon Dynasty. He expressed contradiction and conflict of those days by intellectual language, and reperceived basic ideology of the Joseon society. Also he theorized dissatisfaction of the people about those days and its system as form of religion. We can divide Tasan's life into two times. The first part is his ages 16~39 in the period of Jeong-jo(1777~1800). The second part is in the period of Sun-jo(1801~1834). In this period, he was exiled into Gang-jin for 17 years. After banishment, he lived a quiet life for the rest of his life in his hometown. His allegoric poetry were written in this second period. The special feature of allegoric poetry is strong satire. An allegory would be that is 'king's ear', which the barber has sight, or the barber's voice, which has divulged king's secret among the bamboos. Otherwise it would be that is the sound 'king's ear is donkey's ear' in the bamboos. This sound is divulging of the true donkey's ear. It doesn't travel to audiences, but travels trough wind in the bamboos. The narration exists just as story that barber can't stand to keep silence about king's secret. There are exposure of true and critical motive as allegoric expression. Tasan's allegoric poetry stand on the basis of his love for the people. Also there reveals his thought deeply with an enormous amount of reading and self-communion. Moreover there are his warm mind with his sharp insight in which captures alive lives as allegoric materials. Most of allegoric poetry satirize actuality of those days to make an excuse for external distinguishing marks of animals and plants. However Tasan's poetry are different from them. After he grasped serious problems from his contemporary actuality, and then choosed allegoric media to express correctly. Because he grasped the special features of lives after minute observation, he could exposure controversial point of the actual. His sharp insight was not limited to allegoric media. He noticed his period and the current of his society sensitively. It made his allegoric poetry as important materials to make us to know the condition of the people in the Joseon Dynasty. Tasan's allegoric poetry is inherited by Baek Seok[白石, 1912~1995] as regular juvenile literature. Baek Seok's juvenile stories are the results of expansion and transition for Tasan's allegoric poetry. Allegoric poetry was the shout of barber to prosecute about social irregularities and contradiction, and the sound of the bamboos to travel moaning of the people in the past. Now allegoric poetry create new emotion to make us to speculate ourselves with our surrounding. This changes are caused by special feature of allegoric poetry as a form to reflect our general lives.

반월·박지도 주민의 인식과 태도를 통해 경관 읽기 - 퍼플섬(Purple Islands) 사업 전후의 변화를 중심으로 - (Reading the Landscape through the Perception of Residents of Banwol and Bakji Island - Based on the Change before and after the Purple Island -)

  • 신안군 반월·박지도는 2019년도 '가고싶은 섬' 사업의 일환으로 지붕과 건축물, 시설물 등을 보라색으로 칠한 컬러마케팅을 시작했다. 이러한 경관 변화가 '위험하지만 아름다운 시도'로 평가되면서 2021년 '세계 최우수 관광마을(Best Tourism Village)'로 선정되어 국내외 관광객들의 관심을 한 몸에 받았다. 그러나 실질적 경관 조성의 주체이자 향유자인 반월·박지도 주민은 경관 계획 및 사업 추진 단계의 변두리에 위치한다. 본 연구는 이러한 배경에서 새로운 경관이 지니는 의미와 기호를 실존적 내부자인 주민을 통해 읽어내었다. 경관에 담긴 상징적 의미와 기호화된 이데올로기를 해석했던 신문화지리학의 문화경관 틀을 활용하였으며, 내부자로서의 다층적 환경인식을 파악하기 위해 총체적 접근을 시도했다. 이로써 섬의 주요 색상인 보라색에 대한 인식, 전체적인 경관과 개별 공간들에 대한 인식, 퍼플섬 사업에 대한 전반적인 인식 변화를 분석했다. 퍼플섬 사업 이후 마을을 인지하는 주요 감각이 시각 중심으로 재편되는 양상을 보였고, 낙후된 마을 환경을 개선할 수 있게 해준 보라색 경관에 만족하고 있었다. 색에 대한 가치판단보다는 부속섬으로서 오랜 시간 경험했던 부정적인 기억이 판단의 근거가 된 것이다. 또한 장소에 대한 인식이 사회적이고 보편적 체계를 지닌 상징적 경관(langue)이 관광 기능을 포함하여 세분화 및 재편되었다. 이는 코스모폴리터니즘(cosmopolitanism) 속에서 등장한 스펙터클 경관의 양상이라고 이해할 수 있다. 그러나 관광지로 변모하는 과정에서 지역 자원의 가치를 새롭게 인식하고 참여를 통해 새로운 문화경관을 만들어가는 모습 또한 발견되었다. 더불어 반월·박지도 사이의 관계 인식이 관광 기능을 중심으로 변화되었다.
