The Tongdo temple have been transformed continuously since its first establishment about 1300 years ago. Nevertheless three critical elements specified by 'Jajangyulsa', founder of the temple have not varied over the times but rather strengthened and strongly combined. All elements and doctrines of the religion coexist and form a harmony within the whole of the temple. This researcher examined what changes, or combinations, in spatial formation were sought for such unique structures of the Tongue temple by focusing mainly on the Sangrojun area of the temple to obtain the following findings. First. unlike a work by a Japanese researcher 'Sekino Tadashi', the east yard of the main building was found located on the section line which corresponded to the separation line of Yungkuncheokdo(營建尺度=measure running) from the edge of the Keumkangkyedan(金剛戒壇 =Buddhist platform) embankment to the corner column of the Kamrodang. This was confirmed as a result of the review of photos shown in [Chosun Kojukdobo]. Second, the number of stairs used for the Keumkangkyedan was thought to become three when the temple was firstly restored in 1379 as a result that this researcher reviewed Chinese literature 'DoSun' and [Kyedandokyung(戒壇圖經)], records by 'Lee saek' and 'Jung Shihan', studies of Yungkun measure and actual changes in the temple. Then the temple was forth restored in 1705 when the second of the stairs was changed in area and height and at the same time grounded hard for a space for a Buddhist service. Third, the roof of the main building was probably changed in shape during the Koryo period when the plane structure, furnish arrangement, emphasized front, stone lanterns of the building and political factors of that time were all considered. Fourth, the main building was Initially designed to provide a Buddhist sermon service which was assumedly followed by a similar service at a Keumkangkyedan. Thus the main building had a small window on the northern side which might be opened up to look out or otherwise go outside like a door. However, the window was probably locked up like a surrounding wall since the main building was entirely repaired after the end of Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592.
Purpose: This study assessed the association between eye symptoms (enophthalmos or diplopia) and site of damage, volume, deviated inferior rectus muscle (IRM) and type of fracture with computed tomography (CT). The intent is to anticipate the prognosis of orbital trauma at initial diagnosis. Methods: Forty-five patients were diagnosed with fractures of the inferior wall of one orbit. Fracture area, volume of displaced tissue, deviated IRM, and type of fracture were evaluated from coronal CT by one investigator. The association of those variables with the occurrence of eye symptoms (diplopia and enophthalmos) was assessed. Results: Of 45 patients, 27 were symptom-free (Group A) and 18 had symptoms (Group B) of enophthalmos and/or diplopia. In Group B, 12 had diplopia, one was enophthalmos, and five had both. By CT measurement, group A mean area was $192.6mm^2$ and the mean volume was $673.2mm^3$. Group B area was $316.2mm^2$ and volume was $1,710.6mm^3$. The volume was more influential on symptom occurrence. Each patient was categorized into four grades depending on the location of IRM. Symptom occurrence and higher grade were associated. Twenty-six patients had trap-door fracture (one side, attached to the fracture), and 19 had punched-out fracture (both sides detached). The punched-out fracture was more strongly associated with symptoms and had statistically significantly higher area and volume. Conclusion: In orbital trauma, measurement of fracture area and volume, evaluation of the deviated IRM and classification of the fracture type by coronal CT can effectively predict prognosis and surgical indication.

The main purpose of this study is to understand the existing and the architectural characteristics of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church in Jeju. The method of this study is to research all the literature and to visit. The time of establishment of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church in Jeju was mostly 1950's, and that time was the heyday of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church that was built in Korean. Catholicism was spread throughout Jeju during this time, and in the process, the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church was built. The Secondary Stations of Catholic Church in Jeju are sited mostly in coastal villages, and especially Catholicism was actively spread throughout the west of Jeju and the a large number Secondary Stations of Catholic Church were built in the west of Jeju. The Secondary Stations of Catholic Church were built between the mid-1950's to the mid-1960's. The plan type is kept as plan shaped of straight shape. When made an enlargement of the interior space and altered, framework of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church was generally maintained. The head of the side window and the front door have the same design characteristics. When the belfry is located, it is attached to an outer wall of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church, or is located to the left or the right the front of the Secondary Stations of Catholic Church. The design of belfry found expression in various forms. The buttress are not located in the others but in Young-su Gong-So, and it has not the structural functions but the design functions.

This paper deals with the development of automatic docking system for the detachable mobile seat(DMS) of a vehicle for the handicapped people who are unable to ride in a car by oneself. Although such vehicles for the handicapped already exist, there is a need for a vehicle with improved docking method for convenience. This paper presents an automatic docking system using two ultrasonic sensors. In order to identify the precise location of the mobile seat in front of the vehicle door, the capability of ultrasonic sensor for detecting the part edge is analyzed and mathematical modeling is performed to measure the exact location of the side edge. And also, this paper presents an automatic docking method using this sensor system and the car lift which is provided in the inside of the car.
In this study, the prediction performance of design fire curves (DF) was evaluated for gas fires in a compartment by using CFAST. The CFAST simulations adopted the 2-stage DF suggested by the previous study and the Quadratic and Exponential DF suggested by Ingason. It was found by comparing the simulation and experimental results that the overall prediction performance of the design fire cures for the spatially-averaged temperature and concentrations of $O_2$ and $CO_2$ was, from the most reasonable to the most inaccurate, 2-stage DF > Quadratic DF > Exponential DF. The CFAST simulation could not predict for the difference in the spatially-averaged temperature and concentrations of $O_2$ and $CO_2$ at door and inner side locations in a compartment. The CFAST simulations also showed a limitation in the prediction of the spatially-averaged temperature at lower layer and the concentration of CO.
This study examines the examples and changes of wooden member terms in Yeonggeon-euigwe(營建儀軌) in the era of Joseon Dynasty. As a result of examining examples, about 240 wood member terms were found on the basis of phonetic value and examples different from today's term use were also confirmed. Wood member terms were derived in variety and synonym and different style, that is, coexistence or transition of several notations as the term indicating the same member was found. Derivation of detail terms has the characteristic increasing on the basis of morpheme and formation of different notation followed Chinese notation or was caused by complex coinage features like a coined word of Korea by the meaning of a word and borrowed character notation borrowing sound and it is also related to the specificity of that time which had dual language system. The typical examples without different style for long were pillar, rafter, door and window. Examples with active generation and selection of different styles included beam, capital and bracket-system terms. Different styles were caused by the combination of several notations including borrowed character in the process of Chinese character notation borrowing sound, Korean unique character emphasizing and limiting combination of 木 (wood) with side of character and Chinese. Period showing remarkable change of example notation was the compilation of ${\ll}$the Hwa-Sung-Sung-Euk-Eui-Gue${\gg}$ 華城城役儀軌. ${\ll}$the Hwa-Sung-Sung-Euk-Eui-Gue${\gg}$ is the representative type uigwe made by printed type not by handicraft. Printing by type accompanies unification of the shape of a character necessarily and it was considered that it resulted in the unification of character of different style, the number of strokes and minute difference of strokes, and it was interpreted that common use of intentional notation with the unification of the shape of a character was achieved.

Sound insulation performance of a unit cabin mock-up is studied, where two identical rooms simulating cruise ship cabin are installed. STL (Sound Transmission Loss) measurement in the mock-up shows that STL of the partition between rooms is degraded by imperfect door ceiling and gap between wall and floor. It is also observed that gap around lighting and electrical outlet slightly affect the STL in high frequency ranges, since lighting and electrical outlet are supported by mineral wool in the back side due to fire-resistance requirement. Even after all possible gaps are sealed, STL of the partition is found to be lower than that measured in the laboratory by 9 dB. Measurement of SBN (Structure-Borne Noise) reveals that flanking transmission of SBN along the steel deck floor can severely deteriorate STL of the partition. Statistical energy analysis (SEA) of the mock-up confirms importance of the floor SBN control, in which increasing damping is essential to ensure high STL.
Korean traditional architecture has been carried out in the manner that it harmonized surrounding natural environments and never disturbed them in the scale which did not overwhelm the nature, based on the view of architecture predicated on Yin Yang School. The exposed grain of the wood like pillar, hinge and house rafte, the linear expression of the construction material and the formation between the window and door monopolizing the front side presented a harmony with the nature showing the linear structure. Furthermore the ceiling is low due to the sit life style thanks to the ondol (Korean under-floor heating system and the furniture was made in simple manner to utilize the space as large as possible, for the interior was narrow and close, and also the furniture placing in the middle of the room was movably manufactured to improve the room space. Like this Korean traditional furniture was close associated with the low height and simplicity and harmonized with the blank of the wall accordingly, and it characterized linear & planar natural beauty focusing on the simple and refined unique beauty, because it was made in a good harmony with the interior utensils. This study has presented that the organic characteristics of Korean traditional aesthetic of architecture and the natural beauty being intrinsic in traditional furniture have a mutual relation on the basis of not only the visual recognition, also the aesthetic of naturalism made of the natural material, the constructional naivety as a frame method and the linear & planar formative beauty shown in appearance.
Study Design: Prospective observational study. Purpose: This prospective analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and bone-bonding rate of hybrid hydroxyapatite (HA) spacers in expansive laminoplasty. Overview of Literature: Various types of spacers or plates have been developed for expansive laminoplasty. Methods: Expansive open-door laminoplasty was performed in 146 patients with cervical myelopathy; 450 hybrid HA spacers and 41 autogenous bone spacers harvested from the spinous processes were grafted into the opened side of each lamina. The patients were followed up using computed tomography (CT), and their bone-bonding rates for hybrid HA and autogenous spacers, bone-fusion rates of the hinges of the laminae, and complications associated with the implants were then examined. Results: Clinical symptoms significantly improved in all patients, and no major complications related to the procedure were noted. The hybrid HA spacers exhibited sufficient bone bonding on postoperative CT. The hinges completely fused in over 95% patients within 1 year of the procedure. Only 4 spacers (0.9%) developed lamina sinking, and most expanded laminae maintained their positions without sinking or floating throughout the follow-up period. Conclusions: Hybrid HA spacers contributed to high bone-fusion rates of the spacers and hinges of the laminae, and no complications were associated with their use. Cervical laminoplasty with these spacers is safe and simple, and it yields sufficient fixation strength while ensuring sufficient bone bonding during the immediate postoperative period.
Parodos, the side entrances to orchestra (acting space), was one of the intrinsic elements for the ancient Greek theatre structure. It is worth noting that parodos was the sole structural component that remained the original form while all the other elements such as orchestra, skene, and theatron experienced drastic or gradual changes in form throughout the passage of time. On the reason for parodo's maintenance of the original form, this study suggests a possibility that parodos could be the most intrinsic among the elements for Greek theatre buildings. For evidence, this paper indicates the historical fact that the procession tradition was the key event in the national or civic festival known as City Dionysia, and that the single-direction passageway, as seen in the Panathenaic Way passing through the City Athens, could be the easiest and most efficient way to realize the cause for the procession tradition that is the citizens' participation and subsequent unification. This study suggests another possibility that the single-direction passageway in the procession could be the archetype of parodos. For evidence, this study finds that this type of passageway was ubiquitous around the City Athens especially in the Agora, the most popular place in the city and the gateway to the processional event for Dionysian Cult as well as the space for the earliest Greek theatricality and, therefore, was familiar to the citizens. From the discussion, this paper argues that the Greek theatre should be the miniature of the Agora in terms of form (single-direction passageway) and function (civic participation and unification), and that parodos was the theatrical version of the processional passageway in the Dionysian Cult. In conclusion, this paper argues that parodos played a double role. It satisfied the theatrical necessity by functioning as the passageway to dramatic action (entrance and exit of actor/chorus) and as the literal door for the entrance of the audience members. At the same time, it satisfied the social cause, that is civic participation and subsequent unification, by functioning as the processional passage to relay the theatre space to civic events for the national religious cult.
