Core-shell polymers of methyl methacrylate/styrene pair were prepared by sequential emulsion polymerization in the presence of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS) as an emulsifier using ammonium persulfate(APS) as an initiator. The characteristics of these core-shell polymers were evaluated. Core-shell composite latex has the both properties of core and shell components in a particle, where as polymer blonds or copolymers show a combined properties from the physical properties or two homopolymers. This unique behavior of core-shell composite latex can be used in many industrial fields. However, in preparation of core-shell composite latex, several unexpected phenomina are observed, such as, particle coagulation, low degree of polymerization, and formation of new particles during shell polymerization. To solve the disadvantages, we studied the effects of surfactant concentrations, initiator concentrations, and reaction temperature on the tore-shell structure or PMMA/PSt and PSt/PMMA. Particle size and particle size distribution were measured by using particle size analyzer, and the morphology of the core-shell composite latex was observed by using transmission electron microscope. Glass transition temperature($T_g$) was also measured by using differential scanning calorimeter. To identify the core-shell structure, pH of the composite latex solutions were measured.
The core-shell composite latexes were synthesized by stage emulsion polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and styrene (St) with ammonium persulfate after preparing monomer pre-emulsion in the presence of anionic surfactant. However, in preparation of core-shell composite latex, several unexpected results are observed, such as, particle coagulation, low degree of polymerization, and formation of new particles during shell polymerization. To solve the disadvantages, We study the effect of initiator concentrations, surfactant concentrations, and reaction temperature on the core-shell structure of polymethyl methacrylate/polystyrene and polystyrene/polymethyl methacrylate. Particle size and particle size distribution were measured using particle size analyzer, and the morphology of the core-shell composite latex was determined using transmission electron microscope. Glass temperature was also measured using differential scanning calorimeter. To identify the core-shell structure, pH of the two composite latex solutions were measured.
The structure ki mutant chorion is described by the ultrastructural level with the scanning electron microscope. The micropyle on the anterior, posterior, leteral and dorsal side region surface patterns do not so much differ from ki mutant and normal strains. The surface structure of ventral side of ki mutant, which is the presumptive embryonic region in oocytes, were netted part corresponding to the boundary of follicle cells that is similar to lateral side structure of egg-shell. The eggshell thickness of ventral side on the ki mutant is mostly thicker. However, the structure of transverse section of normal and ki mutant egg-shell are composed of the outer, middle and inner layers. The ki not effects the formation of the lamellar layer in the egg-shell. It is observed that the characteristic structure in ki mutant egg chorion may be attributed to a areal specificity of epithelium in ventral side of egg-shell formation, and it affects the process of the accumulation of secreted chorionic material and the egg-shell architecture.
We synthesized microcapsule absorbent with crosslinked poly(styrene-$alt$-maleic anhydride) (PSMA) as a core and PSMA as a shell by a precipitation polymerization method for the delayed absorption of excess water in cement mortar. cPSMA-PSMAs with core-shell structure were synthesized with ratios of 1/1, 1/2 and 1/3 as core monomer mass to shell monomer mass to control shell thickness. We observed the hydrolysis of PSMA in cement-saturated aqueous solution by a FTIR spectrometer. We observed good core-shell structure microcapsules for 1/2(cPSMA #3), but observed incomplete core-shell structure for 1/1(cPSMA #2) and 1/3(cPSMA #4) of core/shell monomer ratios. The swelling ratio of cPSMA #3 in cement-saturated aqueous solution was increased until 20 min. After that it was decreased until 2 hrs swelling time, and they started to increase again. The viscosities of cement paste with cPSMA #3 microcapsules were very slowly increased until 1 hr and increased fast after 1.5 hrs. Cement mortar with 0.5 wt% cPSMA #1 having only core part showed about 5% increase in compressive strength compared to that of plain cement mortar. cPSMA #3 added cement mortar showed the highest compressive strength with 7% increase.

Recent attempt to enhance the safety against collision reshaped the simple shell structures into the integrated complex shell structures. Moreover, due to various regulations continuously tightened for environment protection, weight reduction of automobiles becomes an increasingly important issue. Auto parts lightening is mainly accomplished by more reasonable design, adoption of lighter materials and miniaturization of the auto bodies. Focusing on the locally enhanced design approach among the above three ways, we here attempt to develop a patching optimization method, and also to determine the thicknesses of an integrated shell structure, both bringing a specified amount of stress relaxation. We first select a cross member as a patching optimization model. Based on the finite element stress calculations, we relieve the stress of cross member by patching in two ways-nonuniform thickness patching and optimized uniform thickness patching, the latter of which is more effective in a practical point of view for the preset amount of stress relaxation. Selecting a box type subframe as another finite element analysis model, we then determine the thickness of each part by axiomatic design approach for a preset amount of stress relaxation. The patching methodology and the axiomatic approach adopted in this work can be applied to the other complex shell structures such as center member and lower control arm.
Multi shell graphite coated Ag nano particles with core/shell structure were successfully synthesized by pulsed wire evaporation (PWE) method. Ar and $CH_4$ (10 vol.%) gases were mixed in chamber, which played a role of carrier gas and reaction gas, respectively. Graphite layers on the surface of silver nano particles were coated indiscretely. However, the graphite layers are detached, when the particles are heated up to $250^{\circ}C$ in the air atmosphere. In contrast, the graphite coated layer was stable under Ar and $N_2$ atmosphere, though the core/shell structured particles were heated up to $800^{\circ}C$. The presence of graphite coated layer prevent agglomeration of nanoparticles during heat treatment. The dispersion stability of the carbon coated Ag nanoparticles was higher than those of pure Ag nanoparticles.

Core-Shell polymers of silicone dioxide-styrene system were prepared by sequential emulsion polymerization. In inorganic/organic Core-Shell composite particle polymerization, silicone dioxide adsorbed by surfactant sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate (EU-DO133L) was prepared initially and then core silicone dioxide was encapsulated emulsion by sequential emulsion polymerization using styrene at the addition of potassium persulfate (KPS) as an initiator. We found that $SiO_2$ core shell of $SiO_2$/styrene structure was formed when polymerization of styrene was conducted on the surface of $SiO_2$ particles, and the concentration sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate (EU-DO133L) was 0.5~2.0g. The structure of core-shell polymer were investigated by measuring to the thermal decomposition of polymer composite using thermogravimetric analyzer and morphology of latex by scanning electron microscope(SEM).
In this paper, we compare and assess the performance of the standard 3- and 6-node MITC shell elements (Lee and Bathe 2004) with the recently developed MITC triangular elements (Lee et al. 2014, Jeon et al. 2014, Jun et al. 2018) which were based on the partitions of unity approximation, bubble node, or both. The convergence behavior of the shell elements are measured in well-known benchmark tests; four plane stress tests (mesh distortion test, cantilever beam, Cook's skew beam, and MacNeal beam), two plate tests (Morley's skew plate and circular plate), and six shell tests (curved beam, twisted beam, pinched cylinder, hemispherical shells with or without hole, and Scordelis-Lo roof). To precisely compare and evaluate the solution accuracy of the shell elements, different triangular mesh patterns and distorted element mesh are adopted in the benchmark problems. All shell finite elements considered pass the basic tests; namely, the isotropy, the patch, and the zero energy mode tests.
Core-shell polymers of inorganic/organic pair, which are consisted of both core and shell component, were synthesized by sequential emulsion polymerization using ethyl methacrylate (EMA) as a shell monomer and ammonium persulfate as initiator. We found that $CaCO_3$ core should be prepared by adding 2.0wt% SDBS(sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate), $CaCO_3$ core/PEMA shell polymerization was carried out on the surface of $CaCO_3$ particle during EMA shell polymerization in the core-shell polymer preparation. The structure of core-shell polymer were investigated by measuring the degree on decomposition of $CaCO_3$ by HCI solution, thermal decomposition of polymer composite on thermogravimetric analyzer, glass transition temperature on differential scanning calorimeter, and morphology using scanning electron microscope.
EVA microsphere was prepared by a thermally induced phase separation. EVAL microsphere was made by a saponification on sheath of EVA microsphere. And microcapsule with EVA core-PU shell structure was synthesized by interfacial polymerization using diisocyanates with PEG in gelatin aqueous solution as the stabilizing agent. The effects of chemical structure of diisocyanate on the average particle size and distribution, morphology, color strength and friction fastness of core-shell particles were investigated to design microcapsule. The friction fastness of the fabrics printed with EVA core-PU shell microcapsules had the 4-5 grade.
