컴플라이언스 계수에 의한 노즐하중 하에서의 원심펌프의 축단변위에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Shaft End Displacement of the Centrifugal Pump under Nozzle Loads using Compliance Coefficients)

  • Investigation results are presented fur the shaft end displacements due to the elastic deformation of the casing and support in double suction centrifugal pump. Suction and discharge nozzles of the pump are subject to external piping loads and, in API 610, maximum values of their components are specified. This means that each nozzle can be subject to various combinations of loading conditions. Considering upper and lower criteria of each load, we must perform for the 4,096 load cases, and assign the direction and range of the loads. So, this paper develops an efficient procedure(Compliance Coefficient Method) to calculate the shaft end displacements(@ coupling) to determine whether satisfying the pump's standard. Also, we analyzed the effects of the casing and support thickness on shaft end displacements.

Shaft resistance of bored cast-in-place concrete piles in oil sand - Case study

  • Pile load tests using Osterberg cells (O-cell) were conducted on cast-in-place concrete piles founded in oil sand fill and in situ oil sand at an industrial plant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. Interpreted pile test results show that very high pile shaft resistance (with the Bjerrum-Burland or Beta coefficient of 2.5-4.5) against oil sand could be mobilized at small relative displacements of 2-3% of shaft diameter. Finite element simulations based on linear elastic and elasto-plastic models for oil sand materials were used to analyze the pile load test measurements. Two constitutive models yield comparable top-down load versus pile head displacement curves, but very different behaviour in mobilization of pile shaft and end bearing resistances. The elasto-plastic model produces more consistent matching in both pile shaft and end bearing resistances whereas the linear elastic under- and over-predicts the shaft and end bearing resistances, respectively. The mobilization of high shaft resistance in oil sand under pile load is attributed to the very dense and interlocked structure of oil sand which results in high matrix stiffness, high friction angle, and high shear dilation.

대구경 현장타설말뚝의 주면 마찰력 평가 (Evaluation of Skin Friction on Large Drilled Shaft)

  • 대구경 현장타설말뚝에 대하여 하중전이 측정을 수반한 정재하시험, 동재하시험 및 유한차분해석을 수행하여 주면 마찰력 거동특성에 대한 연구를 실시한다. 주면 마찰력은 말뚝과 지반의 상대변위와 직접적으로 관계되므로 임의의 심도에서 측정한 말뚝의 하중전이량과 유한차분해석에 의한 주면지반의 변위와 응력을 이용하여 거동특성을 분석한다. 하중전이측정결과에 의하면 현장타설말뚝 주면을 따라 발휘되는 극한단위주면 마찰력은 중간 깊이인 모래자갈층과 자갈층 상부에서 먼저 나타난다. 또한 동일한 현장타설말뚝에 대하여 동재하시험과 정재하시험을 실시한 결과 주면 마찰력과 선단지지력의 거동특성이 상이하게 평가되었으며, 그 차이점에 대하여 논의한다.

풍화대소켓 대구경 현장타설말뚝의 선단보강그라우팅 사례 (A Case Study of Post-Grouted Drilled Shaft in Weathered Formation)

  • Post-grouting for the drilled shaft is known to increase the end bearing capacity of pile 2~3 times higher by consolidating and reinforcing the disturbed ground containing slime around the pile end. However, the general design guideline for post-grouting has not been established yet in Korea. Especially in the domestic application, the post-grouting is employed just for repairing the pile with the unacceptable resistance rather than for increasing the design resistance of pile. Therefore, little is reported about the effect of post-grouting on the pile resistance itself. In this study, the effect of post-grouting on the resistance of drilled shafts installed in the weathered rock in Korea was estimated by performing the bi-directional load tests on the piles with and without the post-grouting. The test results presented that the initial slope of end bearing-base displacement curve in the pile with post-grouting was 4 times higher than that without post-grouting. At the acceptable settlement (1% of pile diameter), the end bearing capacities of piles with and without the post-grouting were estimated to be 12.0 MPa and 7.0 MPa, respectively, indicating that the post-grouting could increase the end bearing resistance of pile in weathered rock more than 70%.

  • Despite of the increasing number of the application of drilled shaft piles in construction site, most studies on pile capacity have been focused on the side shear resistance. But it is common that the drilled shaft is socketed on the rock so as to use its bearing resistance. The prediction of the end movement and characteristics of the bearing capacity of the pile is great important as well. Therefore, a series of scaled model tests were carried out in order to study the characteristics of the bearing capacity on rock mass. The material of the test block was cement mortar which was mixed with sand, cement and water, and the size of a test block size was $240{\times}240{\times}240mm$. The axial load was applied by a miniaturized pile of 45mm in diameter and flat jacks and steel plate were used for confinement to simulate the real underground loading conditions. The relation of load-displacement was measured in various different conditions of rock mass such as strength, discontinuity of the rock mass and in-situ stress, so q-w curves of the end of the pile were presented for each condition.

Polymer Base Bored Pile in Bangkok Subsoils

  • The bentonite slurry has been used as the stabilize suspension for wet process bored pile construction in Thailand. The bentonite suspension has benefit on filtration in the sand layer, but it creates thick cake film along pile shaft and loose sedimentation at pile toe. The base grouting technique was widely used to rectify the soft base or loose sedimentation problem of bored pile. The base grouting technique was not increased only end bearing capacity, but was also more increase in skin friction capacity of the bored piles. The comprehensive researches on base grouting was carried out by installing PVC casing inside the shaft to allow the drilling through the pile base in order to collect the soil sample below the pile tip. The polymer based slurry recently was used to replace the bentonite slurry to overcome the thick cake film along pile shaft as well as loose sedimentation at pile toe. The extent research on polymer slurry by physical model was performed to verify the real behavior of polymer. The appropriate mixing ratio of polymer was proposed. The design skin friction coefficient, $\beta$ and end bearing coefficient, Nq, for sand layer base on fully instrumented tested pile were proposed. The application on remedial of the lose capacity bored pile with large displacement in Bangladesh was proposed and discussed.

수치해석을 통한 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면부 거동특성 분석 및 설계차트 제시 (Numerical Analyses on the Behavioral Characteristics of Side of Drilled Shafts in Rocks and Suggestion of Design Charts)

  • 현장타설말뚝이 주면저항력에 의해서만 지지되는 상황은 천공홀 바닥을 청소할 수 없어서 선단부 지지력의 반현 여부를 확신할 수 없을 때이다. 반대로, 신선한 기반암이 낮은 강도의 상부 재료 하부에 있는 경우는 암반에서의 선단지지력만으로 상부 하중을 지탱할 수 있으며, 상부 재료에서는 지지력 발현을 기대하지 않아도 된다. 그러나 신선암에서 일정 깊이 천공을 실시한 경우, 현장타설말뚝은 주면저항력과 선단지지력 모두를 기대할 수 있다. 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 거동에 관한 이론적 연구와 현장 시험을 통하여 작용 하중의 대부분이 통상 주면저항력에 의해서 지지되게 된다는 사실이 알려져 있다. 암-콘크리트 접촉면에서의 수직응력은 두 가지 기구에 의해 증가하게 된다. 먼저, 말뚝 상부에 작용하는 압축하중에 의해서 콘크리트는 탄성 다이레이션이 발생하고 두 번째로 거친 천공홀 표면에서 전단 변위를 통해서 접촉면의 역학적 다이레이션이 발생되게 된다. 수직 변위에 대한 근입부 주변 물질의 강성도가 일정하면, 작용하중이 증가함에 따라서 수직응력은 증가하게 되며 따라서, 전단강도의 증가 현상이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 수치해석을 통하여 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면부 거동특성을 조사하였다. 또한, 두부의 하중-침하량(선단부 침하량+말뚝의 탄성변형량) 관계가 비선형성을 띠는 원인 및 파괴기구를 충분히 조사함으로써 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면저항력에 영향을 미치는 요소들을 모두 고려하여 국내 풍화암 및 연암에 근입되는 현장타설말뚝의 설계차트를 제시하고 이를 검증하였다.

  • Since the allowable bearing capacities of piles in weathered/fractured rock are mainly governed by settlement, the load-displacement behavior of the rock socketed pile should be well known. To predict pile head settlement at the design stage, the exact understanding of the load-transfer mechanisms is essential. Therefore, in this research, the load-transfer mechanisms of drilled shaft socketed into weathered rock was investigated. For that, 5 cast-in-place concrete piles with diameters of 1,000 mm were socketed into weathered gneiss. The static axial load tests and the load-transfer measurements were performed to examine the axial resistant behavior of the piles. A comprehensive field/laboratory testing program on weathered rock at the field test sites was also performed to describe the in situ rock mass conditions quantitatively. And then, the effect of rock mass condition on the load transfer mechanism was investigated. The side shear resistance of the pile in moderately weathered rock reached to yielding point at a few millimeter displacements, and after that, the rate of resistance increment dramatically decreased. However, that in the highly /completely weathered rock did not show the obvious yielding point, and gradually increased showing the hyperbolic pattern until with the relatively high displacement (>10 mm). The end bearing-displacement curves showed linear increase at least until with the base displacement of approximately 10 mm, regardless rock mass conditions.

양방향말뚝 재하시험을 통한 현장타설말뚝의 연직지지력 설계정수 산정 (Evaluation of Design Parameters for Axial Bearing Capacity of Drilled Shafts by Bi-directional Loading Tests)

  • Bi-directional loading test data are available to evaluate the design parameters which reflect the characteristics of a construction method and the variations of ground at the site where drilled shafts are installed. The method to obtain the design parameters of a real bridge by hi-directional loading test was introduced. The plans of multi-level testing and installation of measuring instruments should be made according to the rough estimation of axial bearing capacity, the length of pile, and the construction method. While the relationship between end bearing resistance and displacement was obtained directly from the hi-directional loading test, the relationship between unit side resistance and displacement was calculated through the measuring values. 1% displacement of pile diameter was adopted as the criteria of failure for ultimate resistance. As the settlement of pile head at the total ultimate bearing capacity obtained from these method was less than 1.5 % of pile diameter, this method was conservative to use in the field.

풍화암소켓 대구경 현장타설말뚝의 선단보강그라우팅 사례 (A Case Study of Post-Grouted Drilled Shaft in Weathered Rock)

  • 현장타설말뚝의 포스트그라우팅 기법은 말뚝 시공시 발생하는 슬라임과 굴착으로 인해 교란된 원지반을 압축 및 보강함으로써 기초의 선단지지력을 현저히 증강시키는 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 현재까지 국내외적으로 통용되는 설계지침 또는 시방은 없는 상태이며, 특히 국내에서는 말뚝 포스트그라우팅 기법이 설계지지력 증강 목적이 아닌, 소요지지력에 미달되는 말뚝에 대한 보수보강의 개념으로 이해되고 있어, 그 효과에 비해 관련 연구 및 실용화 실적이 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 포스트그라우팅 기법의 국내 풍화대소켓 현장타설말뚝에의 적용성을 검증하기 위해 풍화암 근입 대구경 현장타설 콘크리트말뚝 시공 현장을 선정하여 포스트그라우트 시험시공을 실시하였다. 또한 포스트그라우팅 말뚝, 그리고 인접한 미보강 말뚝에 대한 정재하시험을 수행함으로써, 포스트그라우팅이 현장타설말뚝의 축방향 지지력 증강에 미치는 효과를 정량적으로 비교분석해 보고자 하였다. 정재하시험 결과, 선단보강 말뚝 선단하중-침하곡선의 초기기울기가 미보강 말뚝 선단히중-침하곡선의 기울기에 비해 4배 이상 증가였으며, 허용침하량(1%D) 기준으로 보강 및 미보강 말뚝의 선단지지력은 각각 12.0MPa, 7.0MPa로 나타나, 포스트그라우팅 적용 후 말뚝의 허용선단지지력이 70% 이상 증가하는 것을 확인하였다.
