Robinia pseudoacacia has become invasively naturalized in Japan. We investigated the role of sexual reproduction in the development of R. pseudoacacia riparian forests along the Chikumagawa River in Japan, by using five chloroplast (cpSSR) and seven nuclear (nSSR) markers. We identified eight chloroplast haplotypes and 147 nuclear genotypes from 619 R. pseudoacacia trees sampled in three plots (Plots A, B, and C) and along two line transects (Lines D and E). CpSSR analyses showed that multiple maternal lines were distributed along the river, and that some haplotypes from different populations overlapped. In addition, while Plots A and B were separated by a short distance, only these two plots exhibited genetic differentiation in the haplotypes. In the nSSR analysis, all pairwise $F_{ST}$ values among the three plots were significantly different from zero. Kinship analysis based on nSSR markers revealed that kinship connected many individuals to another individual from the same plot. These results indicate that seed dispersal near to mother trees contributes to the fine-scale genetic structure of R. pseudoacacia riparian forests. Our results indicate that sexual reproduction, in addition to asexual reproduction, is a major contributor to the fine-scale formation of R. pseudoacacia forests.

Kisspeptin (Kiss) and its cognate receptor, kisspeptin receptor (KissR; G protein coupled receptor 54, GPR54), have recently been recognized as potent regulators of reproduction in teleosts. Additionally, leptin plays an important role in energy homeostasis and reproductive function in teleosts. The purpose of this study was to examine differences in the concentration of the hormones of the Kiss/KissR system and leptin and the expression of their underlying genes, all of which are involved in the sexual maturation of female goldfish, Carassius auratus, following treatment with Kiss. The expression levels of KissR increased after the Kiss injection. Furthermore, the peptide hormone leptin also increased after the injection (in vivo and in vitro). Additionally, the expression of GnRH and GTHs (GTHα, FSHβ, and LHβ) increased in the brain and pituitary (in vitro and in vitro). These results support the hypothesis that Kiss plays important roles in the direct regulation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad axis and leptin in goldfish. Therefore, we suggest that Kiss system gene expression is correlated with energy balance and reproduction.

Observations are made on the causes and symptoms of diseases related to Jung in 'the precious mirror of oriental medicine' From the study of those clinical cases diagnosed and treated with hyungsang medicine, the following conclusions are drawn Jung is made from shin of parents and it is the basis of the body. it can be derived in to two ; the innate and the acquired. diseases of Jung come from unbalanced meals, immoderate drinking immoderate sexual life, emotional disturbance and irregular daily life. diseases of Jung affect not only reproductive organs but also the body all over. persons with following configurational characteries tic. one easily attacked with diseases Jung ; fish type, bird type, Jung type, shin type, thin, male, pod peoples, pronounced or slanted mouth and nose upturned. nose, congested and inanimated eyes, pale lips, big or red cheekbone, rough skin and grizzled hair. To preserve and satisfy Jung, it is necessary to practice temperance in sexual life, emotions, daily life and meals.

In the present study, observations were made on the life-history of Lymnaea viridis under laboratory conditions, involving incubation period of the eggs and their hatching rate, shell length of the newly hatched snails, sexual maturity, size of the snails when the snail produced the first egg-mass, the number of eggs in each egg-mass, egg-laying, ovipostion, growth rate of the snails, and longevity of the snail. At temperatures between $19.8^{\circ}C$ to $22.5^{\circ}C$, incubation period of the eggs occupied 10~12 days, and after beginning of hatching, all young snails emerged completely from the egg-mass within 5 days. The hatching rate was 88%. The average shell length of the newly hatched snails was about 0.064cm. The rate of growth was extraordinarily rapid under good laboratory conditions. When two snails were reared in one culture vessel($20{\times}15{\times}5cm$) with blue-green algae at about $22^{\circ}C$, snail growth was optimal, taking 37 days to reach 1.2cm in shell length. Sexual maturity reached in about 19 days. The size of the snails at sexual maturity was $0.78{\pm}0.05cm$ in length and $0.47{\pm}0.04cm$ in width. The first egg-masses produced were $0.59{\pm}0.22cm$ in length and $0.34{\pm}0.08cm$ in width, and contained 7~38 eggs. The eggs are usually laid in water. The egg-laying was affected by food and temperature. Snails fed with blue-green algae at about $22^{\circ}C$ produced larger egg-masses than the snails fed with fish food at about $26^{\circ}C$. Under conditions of continuous activity and growth, the maximum expectation of life appears to be 109~350(mean 230) days. And the shell length of snails at death were 1.39~1.64cm.

This study was conducted to identify the level of sexual awareness and the demand for sex education, to investigate the attitude toward and acceptance of heterosexual friendship, and to identify the experience and direction of sex education of parents. The data were collected from 119 parents with high school students by the structured questionnaire from June 1, 2001 to August 31, 2001. Parents and teachers showed a similar attitude on sexual awareness, but teenagers showed a different attitude. In terms of the level of feeling of and interest in 'sex', teenagers, parents and teachers were comfortably accepting it. As for sexual curiosity in puberty, 84.8% of the parents and 95.5% of the teachers responded that it was natural, whereas only 14.7% of teenagers responded that it was natural. But As for the item that 'sex is natural as one of human needs', 3.6% of the teenagers, 16.8% of the parents and only 1.2% of the teachers responded that it was not. As for the item that 'Man have a stronger sexual impulse than woman", 6.1% of the teenagers, 16.8% of the parents and 17.3% of the teachers responded that it was not. This indicates that teenagers have a far stronger sexist awareness, which also reflect that the sex culture of Korean society that regards sex as man's sexual monopoly. 64.2% of the teenagers and 90.2% of the teachers responded that it was impossible to overcome the sexual impulse, whereas only 8.4% of the parents responded that it was possible. As for the item of masturbation, 64.5% of the teenagers responded that it was possible for male students and not possible for female students. 67.2 of the parents and 91.1% of the teachers responded that it was possible regardless of sex. In case of pregnancy in adolescence, most of the responding teenagers, parents and teachers chose abortion. This indicates that respondents have a poor basic understanding of the life-despising climate, responsible sexual intercourse and motherhood protection. As for the item of 'female refusal on male sexual approach', respondents accepted female refusal as it was in orders of teachers, parents and adolescents. As for item of 'An assaulter is entirely to blame for sexual assault', all of three groups responded in the affirmative.

The ultrastructure of germ cells and follicle cells during oogenesis, oocyte degeneration, reproductive cycle, and first sexual maturity in female Cyclina sinensis were investigated for clams collected from Simpo, Jeollabuk-do, Korea, by cytological and histological observations. Vitellogenesis occured by way of endogeous autosynthesis and exogenous heterosynthesis: vitellogensis occurred through a process of autosynthesis, which involves a combined activities of the Golgi complex, mitochondria, and rough endoplasmic reticulum. The process of heterosynthesis involved endocytotic incorporation of extraovarian precursors into the basal region of the early vitellogenic oocytes prior to the formation of vitelline envelope. The follicle cells appear to play an integral role in vitellogenesis and oocyte degeneration, functioning in phagocytosis and digestion of products originating from the degenerated oocytes: these functions can permit the transfer of yolk precursors needed for vitellogenesis. Follicle cells might have a lysosomal system for breakdown and might also resorb phagosomes in the cytoplasm for nutrient storage during oocyte degeneration.

This study identifies how marital interaction influences the marital instability of foreign wives. Data for the study were based on a snowball sampling of 101 foreign wives married to Korean husbands in Gyeongnam, Korea. The respondents reported higher levels of perceived spousal support, marital satisfaction, and sexual satisfaction, but reported lower levels of spousal hostility. A hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to identify the variables that affect marital instability. Independent variables included in the study were years married, religion, monthly income, educational level, perceived husband support, sexual satisfaction, marital satisfaction, and perceived husband hostility. While religion, educational level, sexual satisfaction, marital satisfaction, and perceived husband hostility had a strong effects on the marital instability of foreign wives, years of marriage, monthly income, and perceived husband support did not show significant effect on marital instability. Marital satisfaction had the strongest effect on marital instability.

본 연구의 목적은 남성노인의 노년기 성생활에 대한 전반적인 인식을 알아보는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 부산과 경남 김해시에 거주하는 65세 이상 남성노인 13명의 동의를 얻어 일대일 면접방식을 통하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과, 연구 참여자인 남성노인의 성인식은 <자연스럽고 본능적인 성>, <여전히 존재하는 성>, <제약이 있는 성>, <지원이 필요한 성>의 4가지 핵심개념으로 나타났다. 즉, 남성노인은 노년기의 성생활에 대하여 본능적이고 자연스러운 것으로 인식하였으며, 주변과 가족의 부정적 인식과 질병 등의 제약이 존재하나, 여전히 존재하는 성 욕구에 대한 사회적 인식개선과 성교육 및 다양한 해소방안을 위한 적극적인 지원이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 노인의 성의식은 포괄적이고 광범위한 연구이므로, 다양한 분야에서 융복합적인 연구가 지속적으로 진행되어야 한다. 이를 통하여 남성노인의 경험적 특성과 욕구에 기반한 효과적이고 차별화된 개별 성상담 및 맞춤형 성교육과 지역사회 프로그램개발에 기초자료를 제시하고자 하였다.
