Ubiquitous Architectural Framework for UbiSAS using Context Adaptive Rule Inference Engine

  • Recent ubiquitous computing environments increasingly impact on our lives using the current technologies of sensor network and ubiquitous services. In this paper, we propose ubiquitous architectural framework for ubiquitous sleep aid service(UbiSAS) in the subset of ubiquitous computing for refreshing of human's sleep. And we examine technical feasibility. Human can recover his health through refreshing sleep from fatigue. Ubiquitous architectural framework for UbiSAS in digital home offers agreeable sleeping environment and improves recovery from fatigue. So we present new concept of ubiquitous architectural framework dissolving stress. Specially, we apply context to context-aware framework module. This context is transferred to context adaptive inference engine which has service invocation function in intelligent agent module. Ubiquitous architectural framework for UbiSAS using context adaptive rule inference engine without user intervention is technical issue. That is to say, we should take sleep comfortably during our sleeping. And sensed information during sleeping is changed to context-aware information. This presents significant information in context adaptive rule inference engine for UbiSAS. This information includes all sleeping state during sleeping in context-aware computing technique. So we propose more effective and most suitable ubiquitous architectural framework using context adaptive rule inference engine for refreshing sleep in this paper.

  • By the newly emerging Network access technology, we face the new heterogeneous network environment. The required level of service quality and diversity are now multiplied by the increment of wireless service subscribers. Focusing on the co-existence of multiple access network technology and the complex service needs of users, the wireless service operators should present the stable service quality for every user. The service operators should build the new operation framework which combines the pre-established networks and newly adopted ones. Our problem is finding the optimal heterogeneous network operation framework. We suggest a market-based marginal cost function for evaluating the relative value of resource of each network and develop the whole new heterogeneous network operation framework.

  • Increasing number of business and technology expansion has sparked a growing interest in IT service business evaluation. However, it is not an easy task to come up with a fair and objective evaluation of IT service business due to the difficulties involved in the definition performance assets (marketing, human resources etc.) and knowledge assets with respect to its industry. Several public organizations in Korea are developing a "standardized evaluation protocol" based on qualitative method. But the standard evaluation protocol does not provide suitable guidelines on how to construct and evaluate the key index of IT service business. The main objective of this study is in the development of a systematic approach for the evaluation of IT service business competitiveness by emphasizing the qualitative and quantitative index to be evaluated in the framework. Application of the developed framework and guideline format showed that the used of the framework in this study provided relatively more efficient evaluation results in IT service industry.

Design and Implementation of An MPEG-4 Dynamic Service Framework (MPEG-4 동적서비스 프레임워크 설계 및 구현)

  • MPEG-4 movies are composed of several media objects, organized in a hierarchical fashion. Those media objects are served to the clients as elementary streams. To play the movie, client players compose the elementary streams according to the meta- information called the scene graph. The meta-information streams are delivered as BIFS and OD elementary stream. Using dynamically generated BIFS and OD streams, we can provide a service something differs from traditional file services. For example, we can insert weather or stock information into the bottom of the screen while an existing movie was played in the screen. In this paper, we propose a dynamic service framework and dynamic server. Dynamic service framework is an object-oriented framework dynamically generating BIFS and OD streams based on the external DB information. Dynamic server provides a GUI for the server management and interface for registering dynamic services. In this framework, the dynamic service has the same interface as a file service. So, a dynamic service is considered as a file service by clients and other services.

  • This Paper presents an SOA framework that enables smooth provision of service to ordinary users while also replacing the current B2B environment-oriented SOA framework. To that end, the proposed SOA will be reviewed for its concept, characteristics, and components. Key to its design is that it will be implemented using the prospective next-generation P2P platform known as JXTA. The proposed framework includes all the basic functions of other SOA frameworks, and will make Provision and use of services more easy compared with other frameworks. Under this service, data and applications controlling these data are provided in an enabling format, thereby addressing security problems. Another advantage of this proposed framework is that each peer is able to play all roles of a service provider, service client, and service registry.

  • This study is to develop and provide a personal information protection framework that enables IoT service providers to safely and systematically operate personal information of IoT service subjects in the overall process of providing IoT devices and services. To this end, a framework for personal information framework was derived through literature survey, and FGI with experts, it was divided into three stages, each of three stages: IoT service provision process and IoT personal information processing process. The study conducted an e-mail survey of related experts using AHP techniques to determine the importance of the components of the selected personal information protection framework. As a result, in the IoT service provision process, the IoT product and service design and development stage (0.5413) is the most important, and in the IoT personal information processing process, personal information protection in the collection and retention of personal information (0.5098) is the most important. Therefore, based on this research, as the IoT service is spreading, it is expected that a safe personal information protection framework will be realized by preventing security threats and personal information infringement accidents.

Multimedia Service Discrimination Based on Fair Resource Allocation Using Bargaining Solutions

  • We deal with a resource allocation problem for multimedia service discrimination in wireless networks. We assume that a service provider allocates network resources to users who can choose and access one of the discriminated services. To express the rational service selection of users, the utility function of users is devised to reflect both service quality and cost. Regarding the utility function of a service provider, total profit and efficiency of resource usage have been considered. The proposed service discrimination framework is composed of two game models. An outer model is a repeated Stackelberg game between a service provider and a user group, while an inner model is a service selection game among users, which is solved by adopting the Kalai-Smorodinsky bargaining solution. Through simulation experiments, we compare the proposed framework with existing resource allocation methods according to user cost sensitivity. The proposed framework performed better than existing frameworks in terms of total profit and fairness.

  • In this paper, we implemented the FIPA-OS framework bundle and service agent bundle over the OSGi service platform in home-sewer platform. The FIPA-OS is the first open source implementation of the FIPA standards and is a component-based toolkit implemented in Java. The FIPA-OS bundle is composed of two bundles. One is the communication bundle such as RMI, IIOP, HTTP and ACC. Another is the agent loader bundle. Experiments are conducted on the service agent communication and loading by the agent loader bundle, and the proposed bundles are successfully installed, stopped, and uninstalled over the OSGi service platform.

  • Smart-Phones are utilized in disaster management field because it can deliver disaster information to large population simultaneously and quickly, and provide accurate information through situation-based service using the LBS(Location Based Service). To study on the utilization of smart phone for disaster information collection and dissemination method, this study suggest a framework which connects smart phone by loading application for reporting disaster. The disaster monitoring and situation dissemination system framework using smart phone is composed of 4 parts. First, smart phone application enters image, video, voice and text information and location of the disaster. Second, the disaster report reception and situation dissemination server receives the information, save in the DB, and send through smart phone SMS. Third, store into disaster information database. Fourth, display the disaster report and management information on 2D GIS, support the decision making process in deciding whether to manage as disaster, and disaster management web service which disseminates situation.

  • It is expected that the next generation mobile communication system will be a service-driven developed system capable to realize the human-centric mobile convergence services. and it is different from the technology-driven development approach of the second and the third generation mobile communication systems. As a preliminary research work on such service-driven system development approach for the next generation mobile communication system. we developed the scenario based service analysis process (2SAP) framework to derive core service technologies and functionalities. In this paper. we propose the next generation mobile convergence service business model creation methodology based on research results of the 2SAP framework. To achieve this goal, we first establish a service model contains several components such as infrastructures. operations. and provision of services that are indispensible for providing next generation mobile services. Then, the next generation mobile services and its corresponding business models can be created by adding service and value flows to the developed service model after defining necessary components of business model including actors, their relationships, and roles.
