The Legal Character of Social Welfare Corporations And The Necessity of The Outside Director System (사회복지법인의 법적 성격과 외부이사제의 필요성 - 학설과 판례 분석을 중심으로 -)

  • This article is aiming at finding the character of social welfare corporations and at finding whether the outside director system is constitutional or not. These two issues are closely interrelated with each other. After examining critically existing studies and precedents that have seen the character of social welfare corporations as public sector or private sector, the present study suggests the dualism that divides social welfare corporations into facility corporations and support corporations and that finds the character of facility corporations and support corporations respectively. According to the dualism, even if outside director system for the facility corporations restricts the right to manage the corporations the system is seen as being constitutional because the corporations are more likely to be public sector so that the principle of private autonomy would not be applied to them. While outside director system for the support corporations is seen as being unconstitutional because the corporations are more likely to be private sector so that the principle of private autonomy would be applied to them. So, this article suggests the amendment of Social Welfare Service Act through which the different character of the facility corporations and support corporations can be respected and the diversity of social welfare corporations and social welfare services can be realized.

Policy Direction for Smart Farming

  • As the number of fields adopting ICT (Information and Communication Technology) increased, it was necessary to diagnose the information service status of corporations and present improvement plans in agriculture. Therefore, we designed and conducted various surveys to understand the information service status of domestic agricultural company corporations.The research included ways to utilize information technology, establishing infrastructure related to information technology, current status of information technology application and impact on performance. Specifically, the main purpose of this study was to subdivide related corporations by industry and sales level and provide differentiated management implications for each sector. This is because the type of information service and information technology support that each corporation needs varies greatly depending on the industry and sales level. We provide customized management and policy proposals based on descriptive statistics and regression techniques.

  • Today many corporations converge clients' needs and IT technology, and then they are developing new service model in order to survive global situation. The changes of manufacturing industry from simple manufacture to industry for focus on services is getting speeded up, because not only growth of service part but also enlargement in creating value in services is expected. And services through collaboration with knowledge based service and only manufacturing industry is important. In this situation, this thesis is willing to propose methodology for Inter-Industry Collaboration Service Model. The proposed methodology includes procedures which develops service model, plans for Inter-Industry Collaboration Service Model and evaluating framework. Also, this applied case studies. I look forward to offering useful guideline on the proposed methodology in this study to corporations that try to create new service model through Inter-Industry Collaboration Service Model.

A Study of Response and Plan of Banks for Mobile Payments of Non-financial Corporations (비금융권의 모바일 결제 서비스에 대한 은행권의 대응방안 연구)

  • Recently, payment methods using smartphone are diverse with the increased usage of smartphone. Especially, new features of mobile payment service are required in the situation to provide more services than mobile service of non-financial corporations. This paper proposed response and plan of current banks for mobile payments of non-financial corporations. Proposed method analyzes response and plan of the existing countermeasures of banks due to the spread of mobile devices, the development of FinTech, and the diversification of mobile payment in recent years. And, proposed paper additionally suggests the countermeasures of the financial sector for the reduction of fee income caused by the non-financial payment services. Also, this paper analyzes the mobile payment field and the method of non-financial corporations, which is the threat to the existing banks, and describes the countermeasure.

Managerial Centrality and Shared Growth: Evidence from Korean Service Corporations' Financial Records

  • This paper focused on the level of managerial centralization on chief executive officer (CEO) as a factor to affect the shared growth activities of corporate. As service corporations are becoming active in shared growth activities recently, this paper thus used CEO. Pay Slice (CPS) information to measure the level of managerial centralization on CEO of service corporation and tested the influence of the level of managerial centralization on whether shared growth activities are executed and the level of such activities respectively. The result of test shows that companies with high managerial centralization on CEO are more passive toward shared growth activities than those without such centralization. This can be interpreted that a CEO with more powerful influence may consider shared growth activities as to be negative and take a passive attitude to them. On the other hand, such result was supported by additional analysis with companies committing shared growth activities as well. This paper is expected to contribute to bring about interest on shared growth activities as the gap between major companies and small and medium sized companies is currently expanding in terms of operating profit ratio and even salary of employees.

A Study focused on how Korean IT Service Firms were financially impacted since the restrictions on participation of large firms

  • The government has strengthened the system of restricting participation of large corporations to limit participation in national information system construction projects and to increase participation of SME software companies. This study analyzes the financial performances of small and medium sized IT firms in Korea three years prior and 3 years after the restrictions on participation of large firm. A sample of 121 small and medium-sized IT services firms were classified into 3 groups and statistical techniques (T-test and one-way ANOVA) were used for the purpose of the analysis. In the three years after the restriction of participation of large corporations, the total assets and sales of the medium and small IT service firms were positive, but the operating profit and net profit were negative. There were many worries about the introduction of the restriction on the participation of large corporations, but many were stabilized. However, the negative impact was more pronounced for SMEs. Therefore, the reduction effect of SME IT service companies is different from the first legislative purpose of enforcing the restriction system of large enterprises, so we propose to revise the policy.

Effects of Perceived Service Quality of Cultural Centers in Discount Stores on Relationship Quality

  • Purpose - This study aims to explore whether investing in cultural centers enhances the image and performance of corporations, and seeks to identify the effects of the relationship quality of cultural centers on the relationship quality of discount stores. Research design, data, and methodology - To accomplish the objective, a survey was conducted on the users of the cultural center of NH Hanaro Club's S Branch. Regarding the questionnaires, 155 copies were distributed and 139 were used as valid data responses, which were analyzed through a descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and a path analysis with structural equation modeling. Results -Cultural centers are lifelong educational institutions revolving around females, and corporations can improve their image and performance through cultural centers in pursuit of profits. Moreover, the reliability and responsiveness of cultural centers positively influenced their relationship quality and that of discount stores. Conclusion - Customer service should be provided promptly and sincerely to achieve maximum customer satisfaction. This will boost the relationship quality of cultural centers, and positive customer evaluation will lead to better relationship quality of the discount stores.

A Study on Corporate Support Service Convergence Factors that Influence Corporate Performance: Targeting Corporations in Sejong City and Chungnam (기업성과에 영향을 미치는 기업지원서비스의 융복합 요인에 관한 연구 : 충남·세종 기업을 대상으로)

  • This study analyzed the effects that service convergence factors in the public sector have upon corporate performance via the parameter of overall satisfaction, targeting corporations that have received corporate support service under the auspices of regional industry promotion policies. The results of the analysis indicated that corporate support service quality factors pertaining to support processes and outcomes, excluding quality, have significant influence on overall satisfaction, and overall satisfaction also affects corporate performance. Thus, the study is significant in that it provides a sound basis for judging which aspects of corporate support convergence service quality need to be supplemented in order to improve overall satisfaction and corporate performance.

  • Holding conventions and exhibitions are deemed as a highly valued-added services. The conventions and exhibitions industry (CEI) contributes to the development of the region in which the venues are located by creating jobs, boosting the local economics, attracting dollars and increasing tax incomes. At the same time, the international awareness of the region rises after holding an international exhibition or convention. This study investigated the effects of outsourcing services quality that employed by corporations organizing conventions and exhibitions on business performance and customer satisfaction of organizing corporations. It was found that many convention organizing corporations relied on outsourcing services for the most of the process. Given that the staff members of outsourcing companies serve as the major source of services for events, the quality of their services has much effects on the business results of hiring corporations. In this study, major factors influencing the service quality and the importance of the service quality were addressed. And the ideas for effective method for controlling the outsourcing sources were also suggested for hiring corporations and outsourcing companies.

A Study of Successful Implementation of Application Service Providing Based on the Perception of Small and Medium Corporations in Korea (국내 중소기업의 인식을 기반으로 한 성공적인 ASP 구현에 관한 연구)

  • This study evaluates the application sum providing(ASP) approach based on the perceptions of Koreas small and medium corporations, especially in the manufacturing industry. As considering the costs and risks of system implementation and maintenance, ASP would be a favorable alternative. Based on the survey of 25 cases, we found that as long as the level of perception on ASP is concerned, 80 percent of firms responded no or a little idea about the ASP service. Moreover the acceptance possibility of ASP service in the near future was less than 10 patent, and the primary reasons were found as follows: (1) lack of confidence regarding on the effect, (2) apprehension of data security, (3) issue of handling the existing employees, and (4) possibility of fee structure change after the implementation and stabilization. The guidelines to increase the recognition and successful implementation of ASP service in Korea are proposed.
