Perceived Connectivity, Perceived Belongingness and Intention to Use IoT Appliance Based Service (인지된 기기 연결성이 사물인터넷(IoT) 가전 기반 서비스의 사용의도에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증연구)

  • With the development of sensor, communication and intelligent software technology, expectation of IoT-based service which can receive desired service automatically and anytime, anywhere is getting higher. In addition, IoT-based services have begun to anticipate the development of a hyper-connected society. Despite these expectations and anticipations, few studies have empirically identified ways to improve the intentions of prospective customers to use IoT-based services. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to propose a theoretical model that can explain the factors that determine the intention of using IoT-based services. In addition, this study investigates what factors affect the intention to use IoT-based services focusing on the connectedness. Especially, perceived connectivity with the (virtual) community, unlike the connectivity with the machines, is newly proposed, to understand the IoT technology adoption behavior. The empirical results suggest that social relationship is one of the critical factors to affect the use of services running on interconnected technology such as IoT. When IoT-based service is recognized as a link to other communities, it has been found to have a positive effect on intention to use via perceived belongingness.

  • The rapid changes in business environments are also applicable to the delivery service field. Numerous companies are using smart phones in order to perform work of the delivery service field that is rapidly developing every year. Smart phones established ubiquitous work environments where access to the server of the head office is possible through telephones, scanners, and the internet anywhere and anytime. However, although smart appliances including smart phones have been diffused, empirical analysis of use of them in actual has not been attempted much. In this regard, current study empirically analyzes how connectivity and context-awareness function of smart phones based on the TAM(Technology Acceptance Model) influence the continuous intention to use through trust, usefulness, and ease of use. The results indicate that the connectivity and context-awareness function, which are natures of smart phones, had impacts on the ease of use and trust, but not on the usefulness. Based on these results, this study suggests implications and future research directions regarding the planning and realization of smart appliances.

  • The issues of developing the value added services for public transport connectivity and transfer with information and communication technologies has been discussed in terms of incorporating system facilities with public transit modes to increase the ridership of public transit. This paper demonstrates a conceptual model for providing the location based public transit transfer information service on demand with respect to system requirements, subsystems, and logical architecture based on the national ITS architecture. The subsystems in this study which include transfer information center, parking concierge, user route guidance and information provision system are also investigated in detail in order for information service and/or contents provider to develop business models on public transit connectivity and transfer. This model is expected to be utilized in providing the variety of service models with the different types of public transit connectivity and transfer systems according to the system scale and the public transit modes.

  • Providing the connectivity interworking between the lightweight signaling function using in VOD set-top box and the broadband signaling function In the access node system, it can diminish the cost-burden of user about set-top box and we shall use efficiently the network resources. Therefore, In this paper, we shall design the signaling brokerage agent function for the connectivityinterworking in access node system and discuss the result applied its function to the real-time VOD service.

A Model for Evaluating the Connectivity of Multimodal Transit Networks (복합수단 대중교통 네트워크의 연계성 평가 모형)

  • As transit networks are becoming more multimodal, the concept of connectivity of transit networks becomes important. This study aims to develop a quantitative model for measuring the connectivity of multimodal transit networks. To that end, we select, as evaluation measures of a transit line, its length, capacity, and speed. We then define the connecting power of a transit line as the product of those measures. The degree centrality of a node, which is a widely used centrality measure in social network analysis, is employed with appropriate modifications suited for transit networks. Using the degree centrality of a transit stop and the connecting powers of transit lines serving the transit stop, we develop an index quantifying the level of connectivity of the transit stop. From the connectivity indexes of transit stops, we derive the connectivity index of a transit line as well as an area of a multimodal transit network. In addition, we present a method to evaluate the connectivity of a transfer center using the connectivity indexes of transit stops and passenger acceptance rate functions. A case study shows that the connectivity evaluation model developed in this study takes well into consideration characteristics of multimodal transit networks, adequately measures the connectivity of transit stops, lines, and areas, and furthermore can be used in determining the level of service of transfer centers.

  • This study proposes a methodology for assessing the improvement of network connectivity of transport hubs. Extending a previously developed model that measures the connectivity of a node in transportation networks, we define two quantities called the supplied connectivity and the experienced connectivity. Using these quantities, we provide a systematic procedure for analyzing the network connectivity of a transport hub and also suggest criteria for determining whether a given project is effective in improving the network connectivity of the transport hub. The application of the methodology to a test site produces reasonable results, and as such it is expected that the methodology can be used for various transport hubs in the national road network. Once enough data from the application of the methodology are accumulated, a further study on the level of service in terms of network connectivity needs to be followed.

In this study system use was signification influenced by system quality, instantly connectivity, and user satisfaction use was signification influenced by system quality, information quality. But system use was not signification influenced by information quality, service quality and ubiquitous convenience was not signification influenced by service quality, instantly connectivity.

  • This document specifies a new IPv6 deployment protocol called CHANC, which stands for Configuring Hosts to Auto-detect (IPv6, IPv6-in-IPv4, or IPv4) Network Connectivity. The main part is an application level tunneling protocol that allows Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to rapidly start deploying IPv6 service to their subscribers whom connected to the Internet via IPv4-only access networks. It carries IPv6 packets over HTTP protocol to be transmitted across IPv4-only network infrastructure. The key aspects of this protocol are: offers IPv6 connectivity via IPv4-only access networks, stateless operation, economical solution, assures most firewall traversal, and requires simple installation and automatic configuration at customers' hosts. All data packets and routing information of the IPv6 protocol will be carried over the IPv4 network infrastructure. A simple application and a pseudo network driver must be installed at the end-user's hosts to make them able to work with this protocol. Such hosts will be able to auto-detect the ISP available connectivity in the following precedence: native IPv6, IPv6-in-IPv4, or no IPv6 connectivity. Because the protocol does not require changing or upgrading customer edges, a minimal cost in the deployment to IPv6 service should be expected. The simulation analysis showed that the performance of CHANC is pretty near to those of native IPv6, 6rd, and IPv4 protocols. Also, the performance of CHANC is much better than that of D6across4 protocol.

  • Mobile business, noticed as a constructive alternative for e-commerce and e-business, has been diversely defined and conceptualized. This study develops a comprehensive framework for the sake of clearing such a havoc of conceptual deluge. The framework for the comprehensive understanding of e-business (including m-business) consists of two dimensions: connectivity and mobility. These two dimensions represent to overcome the constraints of time and place in business transactions, respectively. Various cases for each combination of these two components are explained for clear understanding of this framework. By this framework, we can understand the value that Location-Based Service (LBS) brings anew to e-business services.
