Evaluation of the Clothing Store Attributes in the Department Using Importance-Performance Analysis (중요도-성취도 분석에 의한 백화점 의류점포속성 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to take the gauge of the importance-performance of the clothing store attribute in the department store. The survey was administered to customers of department stores in Deajeon city and frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and importance-performance analysis were used to analyze the data of 37 clothing store attributes. The findings of this study were as bellows: 1. 8 factors were distracted from 37 clothing store attributes by factor analysis (Factor 1: goods, Factor 2; store's facility and environment, Factor 3; salesman and service, Factor 4; brand, Factor 5; price, Factor 6; store's atmosphere, Factor 7; convenience of the transportation and access, Factor 8; promotion and advertisement) 2. as results of importance-performance analysis, 10 attributes were shown in area I (high importance and high performance) which needed a strategy of Keep Up the Good Work, 6 attributes in area II (low importance but high performance) fitted a strategy of Possible Overkill, 12 attributes in area III (high importance but low performance) corresponded to a strategy of Concentrate Here, and finally a strategy of Low Priority was needed to 9 attributes in area IV (low importance and low performance).

  • Short message service(SMS) in a mobile communication environment is a very convenient method. However, it caused a serious side effect of generating spam messages for advertisement. Those who send spam messages distort or deform SMS sentences to avoid the messages being filtered by automatic filtering system. In order to increase the performance of spam filtering system, we need to recover the distorted sentences into normal sentences. This paper proposes a method of normalizing the various types of distorted sentence and extracting keywords through automatic word spacing and compound noun decomposition.

  • In this paper, we propose an information service system using augmented reality technology on mobile devices. With the advancement in ICT technology the computer is smaller and easy to carry and developed into the tablet PC and the smartphone typically. The user can confirm and learn the desired data using the augmented reality technology, regardless of the environment. Padding the supplementary images or videos to the real image using the camera, we can have help from such additionally obtained images. In this paper, using an augmented reality technology on a tablet PC or smartphone environment, we implement a system for providing information to the user. This system can be utilized in all areas such as learning, entertainment, public relations and advertisement, etc.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the usage and user behaviors of undergraduate students and to suggest the ways to promote the usage of e-journals. The methods used in this study are survey questionaires and interviews who are taking a general education course or Library and Information Science courses offered in D University. The study collected the data regarding usage, user behaviors, service quality, user instructions and advertisement of e-journals. In addition, the study analyzed the library website and interviewed librarians. Based on the findings, the study suggested the ways to improve the level of e-journal usage.

The Effect of Message Construal Level, Temporal Distance and Consumer's SNS Self-efficacy on Consumers' Attitude Toward SNS Fashion Advertisements

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the construal level and temporal distance of a message and consumer's Social Network Service (SNS) self-efficacy on consumers' attitudes toward SNS fashion advertising. This study employed a 2 (message configuration: high construal level/low construal level) ${\times}$ 2 (temporal distance: distant future/near future) ${\times}$ 2 (SNS self-efficacy: high/low) between-subject factorial design. The survey was conducted on Facebook users in their twenties (N=216). The results are as follows: First, attitude toward SNS fashion advertising and purchase intention was higher when the message construal level was lower and when the temporal distance was closer. Second, no interactions between temporal distance and message construal level for attitude toward SNS advertising and purchase intention were found in this study. However, interactions between temporal distance and SNS self-efficacy for attitude toward SNS advertising and purchase intention were found. When the SNS self-efficacy was high, message with the low construal level reacted significantly positive in terms of attitude toward the ad as well as purchase intention. It is expected that this study will provide insight for apparel makers or retailers to use SNS as a new advertising media for fashion marketing. Practical implications and limitations are discussed.

The Analysis of Fashion Exhibition (패션관련 전시회의 현황 및 분석)

  • Various types of industry, from manufacturing industry to service industry, can be a subject of exhibition. So, subdivided studies about exhibition for each type of industry or field are necessary. However, there are still insufficient studies about them. Also, fashion industry related exhibitions should be classified differently from other industries' exhibitions because of their special features. Hence, this study examines that how an exhibition is utilized as a promotion means of a company and the present condition of a fashion exhibition. It also compares a fashion exhibition with other industrial exhibitions to suggest the effective operations and the progressive promotion of the fashion exhibition. This study uses questionnaire from 5 companies, which participated fashion related exhibitions. Data of this study is statistically analyzed using SPSS for window ver. 10.0 program. As a result of this study, fashion related companies' recognition of exhibitions has been increased. However, in terms of exhibition participation. attitudes such as pre-promotion or pre-education for the staff, who are in charge of the exhibition booths, and the outcome of the exhibition aren't maximized because the right understanding concerning exhibitions is lacking and long-term preparation is insufficient. Also, advertisement for the exhibitions isn't enough because of insufficient preparation and absence of pre-promotion, so consultation with promising buyers can't be activated. Even though there are consultations, the consultations don't have much effect.

Consumers' Dissatisfaction Factors with Dress Shoes According to Consumers' Characteristics - Purchase and Consumption Stages - (소비자 특성에 따른 숙녀화 불만족 요인 연구 -구매시와 구매후 사용과정을 중심으로-)

  • The purposes of this study were to identify the dimensions of consumers' dissatisfaction with dress shoes when purchase and while using them, and to examine the differences in dissatisfaction factors among consumers grouped by age, occupation and purchasing characteristics. A questionnaire consisted of 86 consumer's dissatisfaction statements with purchasing and using women's dress shoes was developed after conducting 3 pilot tests, and administered to 5BO women in age between 20 and 60 years residing in Seoul and the metropolitan areas in June, 1997, 457 were used for data analysis. Ten factors of dissatisfaction with the women's dress shoes when buying them were identified: attitudes of salespersons, bargain sales, variety of styles, store environment, inconvenience in using girt certificates, fashion. advertisement, display, design, and size. During purchase stage, consumers grouped by demographic characteristics and purchase behaviors showed significant differences in design, attitudes of salespersons, store environment, and selected dissatisfaction factors. Nine dissatisfaction factors with using dress shoes were identified: physical discomfort, after-service, distort of shape, low quality, surface defects, suede/ wearing out, fit, inferiority of color and texture/walking discomforts. During consumption stage, consumers with different demographic characteristics and purchase behaviors were found significantly different in physical discomfort, fit, and selected dissatisfaction factors.

  • As computers and networks become popular, distributing information on the Interment is common in our daily life. Also, the explosion of the Internet, of wireless digital communication and data exchange on Internet has rapidly changed the way we connect with other people. But secure mall is gamins popularity abroad and domestically because of their nature of prodding security. That is. it has been used a variety of fields such as general mail and e-mail for advertisement But, As the data transmitted on network can be easily opened or forged with simple operations. Most of existing e-mall system don't have any security on the transmitted information. Thus, security mail system need to provide security including message encryption, content integrity, message origin authentication, and non-repudiation. In this paper, we design implement secure mall system with non-repudiation service and encryption capability to provide services for certification of delivery and certification of content as well as the basic security services.

A Use of Puppet Performance as the Public Library Cultural Program (공공도서관 문화프로그램으로서의 인형극 활용 방안연구)

  • The development of library cultural programs provides educational information which can only be produced from library. It helps user's to recognize the value of library, and aims at expanding the usage of library information. This paper indicates "children puppet performance" is possible ways to find library identity in providing cultural programs, and suggests guidelines for managing the programs and supporting users.The program management section is divided into several aspects; user service, development of book collection, information service, and advertisement. In terms of user services, the paper suggests watching performances, exhibition projects, creation of related societies, puppet workshop training, and developing library cultural programs. In the development of library collections, the paper indicates usage of library resources, the effects of expanding book collection, education on information usage. In cooperating section, this paper will see the ways to connect library cultural programs to other cultural institutions.

A Study on Makeup Image and Self-Consciousness According to the Level of Expected Socio-Psychological Effect of Makeup (화장의 사회.심리적 기대효과에 따른 화장이미지와 자의식에 관한 연구)

  • This study was made to investigate the differences in Korean woman's perceived makeup image and self-consciousness according to their expectation level in socio-psychological effect of makeup, and to gather information needed for the better understanding of cosmetics consumers and more effective marketing activities of cosmetics industries. Normative-descriptive survey method using questionnaire was employed for the present study. The survey was conducted in August 2001 and the sample consisted of 942 women between the ages of 18 and 50 residing in Seoul and Kyungi province. Data were analyzed by SPSS package. Factor analysis, ANOVA, and MANOVA were employed for the analysis of the data. The results are as follows : (1) Six factors emerged from the data related to the category of expected socio-psychological effect of makeup. Those factors were named as "increasing positiveness", "refreshment", "covering weakness", "self-expression", "consideration for others", and "the tool for self-change". Four factors were found in the category of makeup image, and the factors were named as "refinement", "nobility", "favorable impression ", and "personality ". (2) There was a tendency that those who highly expect the socio-psychological effect of makeup have more positive self-image. Considering this differences in self-image according to the level of expected socio-psychological effect of makeup. service activities for the consumers' positive opinion and attitude to the effect of makeup are needed, and it seems that those service activities will have a good influence on the consumers' emotional health. (3) Subjects with higher level of social anxiety showed higher expectations in refreshment, covering weakness and self-expression. Considering this trend, marketers have to make an constant effort for the variety of cosmetics and makeup manner by which consumers satisfy their expectation in makeup. It seems that the satisfaction of their expectation on the help of makeup effect will contribute to lessen social anxiety, and to get emotional stability. (4) Subjects with higher personal self-anxiety showed higher expectations of the effect. "increase of positiveness".
