  • Since the smart factory has been recently recognized as an industrial core requirement, various mechanisms to ensure efficient and stable operation have attracted much attention. This attention is based on the fact that in a smart factory environment where operating processes, such as facility control, data collection, and decision making are automated, the disruption of processes due to problems such as facility anomalies causes considerable losses. Although many studies have considered methods to prevent such losses, few have investigated how to effectively apply the solutions. This study proposes a Kubernetes based system applied in a smart factory providing effective operation and facility management. To develop the system, we employed a useful and popular open source project, and adopted deep learning based anomaly detection model for multi-sensor anomaly detection. This can be easily modified without interruption by changing the container image for inference. Through experiments, we have verified that the proposed method can provide system stability through nondisruptive maintenance, monitoring and non-disruptive updates for anomaly detection models.

  • In this paper, we proposes real-time operating system based PCM encoder for telemetry system that must transmit frames within a set time. In the case of large aircraft, the complexity of the system is increasing because a lot of state information is measured from each sensor and peripheral device. In addition, as the amount measurement data increases, the role of PCM encoder to transmit frames within a set time is becoming important. Existing encoder is inflexible when changing specifications or implementing additional features. Therefore, a design is needed to supplement this. We propose a PCM encoder design applying uC/OS-II. In order to confirm the validity, a simulation was performed to measure the execution time of the task to confirm the performance.

  • In this paper, a new magnetic position sensing mettled for autonomous vehicle and robot guidance is presented. In autonomous vehicle and robot control, position sensing is an important task for the identification of their locations, such as the current position within a trajectory. The magnet based autonomous vehicle and robot was identified position via magnetic materials. In the magnetic sensing system, the Earth field is one of the largest disturbance. To removal of the Earth field, this paper proposes 1-dimensional magnetic field sensors array and develops precise petition sensing system using linear operating region of the magnetic field sensor. This proposal is verified a feasible magnetic position sensing system for autonomous vehicle and robot guidance by the experimental results.

  • In this paper, a new design of a planar rectenna system and its application to a wake-up receiver operating for incoming signal with a specified frequency are proposed for low-power sensor system applications. The planar and integrable rectenna system is designed with DGSs(Defected Ground Structures) at 2.4 GHz. The DGSs reject harmonic components of 4.8 and 7.2 GHz and eliminate 2.4 GHz fundamental frequency for DC-path filtering. The rectenna system has been evaluated for the conversion output voltages, and applied to the switching of a power supply at the low-power sensor receivers. The proposed system has been evaluated for the wake-up performance by testing a lownoise amplifier operation. From the experimental results, the proposed receiver system presents excellent operation performances.

  • In this paper we introduce a commercial interactive whiteboard (IWB) system named ImSensorTouch by ImSensor Inc. Using this interface system, we can control our computer through the interactive whiteboard screen just by touching it with your finger or a pen. The interface interacts with Windows operating system (OS) and is adaptable to changes of surroundings especially temperature, and illumination condition. The proposed system calculates the difference between a reference image and a current image captured by a camera in the optical receptive field. And the position making the difference is used to generate the position on Windows screen. Then, we send a mouse event on the position to Windows OS. We have implemented the system using a critical section(CS) with two threads for the reference frame update process in which an adaptive thresholding technique is periodically exploited to get reliable result. We expect the system is competitive and promises a bright future in the IWB market.

  • Architecture generation is the first step in the design of software systems. Most of the qualities that the final software system possesses are usually decided at the architecture development stage itself. Thus, if the final system should be usable, testable, secure, high performance, mobile and adaptable, then these qualities or non-functional requirements should be engineered into the architecture itself. In particular, adaptability is emerging as an important attribute required by almost all software systems. • This research is to development advanced health(condition) monitoring system of superconducting motors. Development of advanced condition monitoring systems offers the prospect of improved performance, assessment, and operation, simplified design, enhanced safety, and reduced overall cost of advanced and next generation superconducting motor. For advanced and next generation superconducting motor design, the opportunity exists to develop and implement real-time and continuous monitoring systems by integrating wireless and computational technique. Generally, condition monitoring and control of temperature is essential for managing the superconducting motor components, rotor and structures. In this research, development of advanced monitoring in low temperature and high speed operating environments offers the potential to greatly improve the control of harsh environments. In conventional method, slip rings have been used to acquire data from these sensors. However, the increase of sensors leads to vibration of the rotation axis and noise signals due to kinematics contact. In this study, the wireless data acquisition technique was employed to develop more stable monitoring system adequate for high speed rotating system.

  • Human state in human-machine systems highly affects the overall system performance, and should be detected and monitored. Physiological cues are essential indicators of human state and useful for the purpose of monitoring. The study presented in this paper was focused on developing a bio-inspired sensing system, i.e., Nano-Skin, to non-intrusively measure physiological cues on human-machine contact surfaces to detect human state. The paper is presented in three parts. The first part is to analyze the relationship between human state and physiological cues, and to introduce the conceptual design of Nano-Skin. Generally, heart rate, skin conductance, skin temperature, operating force, blood alcohol concentration, sweat rate, and electromyography are closely related with human state. They can be measured through human-machine contact surfaces using Nano-Skin. The second part is to discuss the technologies for skin temperature measurement. The third part is to introduce the design and manufacture of the Nano-Skin for skin temperature measurement. Experiments were performed to verify the performance of the Nano-Skin in temperature measurement. Overall, the study concludes that Nano-Skin is a promising product for measuring physiological cues on human-machine contact surfaces to detect human state.

  • This paper presents new ignition method and ignition recognition logic for a microturbine. New ignition method is designed by constant speed control of a microturbine with pre-determined time during a ignition period. It make more accurate air-fuel ratio as well as give enough time to ignition system to have full performance under cold temperature. And ignition recognition logic is designed by observing output current change of inverter by generating output torque of a microturbine in the instant of ignition. For filtering a output torque current of inverter with high frequency, we applied a moving average method. So far, ignition recognition is usually implemented by measuring of exhausted gas temperature(EGT) of microturbine. The proposed logic can give more accurate judgement of ignition as well as keep a good working of starting system under out of order a temperature measuring system and biased initial value of EGT sensor. Finally, the two proposed logics are proved by field operating a microturbine under various conditions.
