배우자 유무에 따른 여성노인의 자아존중감, 건강상태 및 생활만족도에 관한 연구 (Self-Esteem, Health Status and Life Satisfaction in Elderly Women According to the Spouse성s Perspective)

  • This study was designed to identify degrees of self-esteem, health status, and life satisfaction in elderly women and investigate the relationship between these factors. The results will contribute to effective nursing intervention for promoting the quality of life for elderly women. Method: The subjects of this study included 129 elderly women. The data was collected through personal interviews using questionnaires from Nov. to Dec. of 2000. The measurement tools were the self-esteem scale developed by Rosenberg and translated by Byong-Je Jong (1974), the health status scale developed by Young Ja Lee(1989), and the life satisfaction scale developed by Jin Youn(1982). The data was analyzed by the SPSS computer program, and it included descriptive statistics, x2-test, t-test and the pearson correlation coefficient. Result: The conclusions of this study are summarized as follows: 1. There was a significant difference in age (x2=12.952, p=.000), religion (x2=6.140, p=.000), spending money (x2=.7.511, p= .000), living expenses load (x2=16.189, p= .000), and the major support provider (x2=6.539, p=.000), according to general characteristics in the existence elderly women. 2. There was a significant difference in self-esteem (t=7.05, P=.000), Health status (t=-10.09, P=.000), and life satisfaction (t=6.62, P=.000) between the two groups. 3. There was a significant positive correlation between self-esteem and health status (r=.406, P=.000), self-esteem and life satisfaction (r=.524, P=.000), and health status and life satisfaction (r=.504, P= .0000) in elderly women.

The Effect of Perceived Parenting Style on Life Satisfaction Among Adolescents Transitioning from Middle to High Schools: Testing the Mediating Effect of Self-esteem

  • 이 연구의 목적은 고등학교 진학 청소년이 지각하는 부모의 양육방식이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고 이 두 변수 사이에서 자아존중감이 매개변수로 기능하는지 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 지각된 양육방식, 자아존중감, 삶의 만족도 사이의 매개효과 관계를 가정하는 연구모형을 설계하였다. 연구모형을 검증하기 위해 분석한 자료는 한국아동·청소년패널조사(2010-2016)의 초4패널의 6차와 7차 자료이다. 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 민주적 양육방식은 삶의 만족도를 높이는 긍정적 효과를 나타냈으나, 통제적 양육방식이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향은 유의하지 않았다. 둘째, 자아존중감은 민주적 양육방식과 삶의 만족도 사이의 관계를 부분매개하였다. 셋째, 자아존중감은 통제적 양육방식과 삶의 만족도 사이의 관계를 완전매개하였다. 이와 같은 분석 결과를 바탕으로 부모의 양육방식 개선과 청소년 자녀의 자아존중감 강화를 위한 함의에 대하여 논의하였다.

간호대학생들의 기본간호실습태도에 대한 주관성 연구 (An Inquiry into Subjectivity of Fundamental Nursing Practice Attitude)

  • The study was designed to identify the attitude of nursing students to fundamental nursing practice through Q-methodology. A Q sample was developed through a review of the literature and interviews. Forty statements made up the finalized Q-sample. The P sample consisted of 25 nursing students in S College. Q statements were written on separate cards and were given to the 25 subjects to sort according to degree of agreement or disagreement. The Q-sort by each subject was coded and analyzed with QUANL PC Program. The analysis discovered three major attitudes, namely "type 1: passive demand", "type 2: active self-confidence", "type 3: practical application". The correlation was .213 between type 1 and 2, .409 between type 1 and 3, .379 between t ype 2 and 3. The results revealed three different types of fundamental nursing practice attitude; 1) Passive demand type: they were not satisfied with fundamental nursing practice time, the number of persons, practice machines. They presented anxiety and worry through fundamental nursing practice. Therefore, they will presenta passive attitude of clinical practice experience. 2) Active self-confidence type: they experienced pride as a nursing student and fascination as a nurse was an acquired recognition. 3) Practical application type: they practiced that fundamental nursing skill was applied their family and oneself. Therefore they had tension through initial fundamental nursing practice but they gained self-confidence and interest through practical study. In conclusion, the researchers suggest that the education program would be more effective if it was planned considering to each types of attitude of nursing students for fundamental nursing practicer fundamental nursing practice

간호대학 졸업예정자의 임상실습 만족도 영향요인 (Factors Affecting Satisfaction of Clinical Practice among Prospective Graduates in Nursing Colleges)

  • Purpose: This study was designed in order to explore the factors affecting the satisfaction of clinical practice among prospective graduates in nursing colleges and attempt to provide the base data for the quality improvement of clinical practice education. Methods: A total of 205 perspective graduates in nursing who have completed the clinical practice at four colleges of nursing located in Gyeonggi-Do and Chungcheongnam-Do participated in the study. Using structured questionnaires, the data was collected between October 10th, 2016 and November 9th, 2016. Results: The average scores for the image of nurses ($3.86{\pm}0.66$), satisfaction of major ($3.85{\pm}0.55$), self-efficacy ($3.44{\pm}0.51$), nursing professionalism ($3.70{\pm}0.47$), and satisfaction of clinical practice ($3.32{\pm}0.56$) were calculated. The satisfaction of clinical practice was in significant statistical correlation with the image of nurses (r=.59, p<.001), major satisfaction (r=.47, p<.001), self-efficacy (r=.21, p<.001), and professional identity (r=.46, p<.001). The significant predictors of the satisfaction of clinical practice included the image of nurses (${\beta}=.48$, p<.001) and nursing professionalism (${\beta}=.19$, p=.008). The regression model resulted in 36.0% satisfaction of clinical practice. Conclusion: Active development and implementation of programs for establishing positive images of nurses and nursing professionalism are needed in order to improve the satisfaction of clinical practice for nursing students.

공업계 고등학교 수학교과와 전문교과간의 연계성에 관하여 - 전자과를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Relationship between Mathematics and Major Subjects of Technical High School. - Focused on the Electronic subjects -)

  • Technical high school aims at educating students to acquire fundamental skill and technology required for being competent technicians, to be creative in adjusting themselves to the changing industrial society, and to do self-realization and find their ways toward the future on their own. To attain that goal and maximize learning effect, mathematics education is very important as prerequisite learning for technical subjects, as most technical courses in technical high school are basically based on mathematics. The purpose of this study was to discuss how mathematics education could be successfully linked to technical courses in an attempt to make it function properly as prerequisite learning for major subjects and facilitate students' technical learning. For that purpose, what problems the mathematics components of major subjects and the curriculum had was examined and the way to offer better education was presented. And there are some suggestions regarding mathematics education: First, technical mathematics should be newly inserted into technical high school curricula to help students learn major subjects in more efficient way. Second, most technical high schools are expected to just require tenth graders to complete a 10-stage mathematics course. In that case, they might find difficulties in learning major subjects when they are in their 11st and 12th grade. The curriculum should be designed to have 11st and 12th graders take mathematics education. Third, many students find a job after graduation, but the growing number of students go on to university to receive more education in the same field. Accordingly, there is a need to enlarge continuous progress plan, rather than completion-type one, to make students well-grounded technically. And mathematics should be taught in more classes as prerequisite subject for major courses. Fourth, mathematics elements necessary for each major subject should be outlined and announced to schools so that they could reorganize mathematics and major courses appropriately.

Maslow의 기본욕구가 의복가치관에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Maslow's Basic Needs on the Clothing Values among Adult Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of basic needs and demographic variables of adult women upon clothing values. This study was designed with causal model regrading the demographic variables as independent variable: the basic need as interventing variable: the eight clothing values as dependent variables. The major findings of this research can be summarized as following; 1. Age of women has a definite effect on marriage status, school career and income. Age has effect on marriage status in seven values except exploratory value. It has effect on school career in aethetic and political values, and it has also effect on school career and income in social and religious values. 2. Age has no significant direct effect on the basic needs. Marriage status and school career have significant direct effect on the basic needs. Marriage status has positive effect on the need for self-esteem in seven values except exploratory value. The need for self-esteem of unmarried women are stronger than that of married women. School career has negative impact on the need for safety. The women having higher school career do not have strong need for safety in aethetic and social values. 3. School career, income, needs for safety, belongingness, self-esteem and self-actualizing have significant direct effect on clothing values. School career has positive effect on aethetic and political values, and it has negative effect on religious values. Income has negative effect upon social and religious values. Need for safety has negative effect on aethetic values. Need for safety is positively related with need for belongingneses, and they have an effect on the social values. Need for self-esteem has positive effect on the aethetic and political values, and it has negative impact on theoretical, economic, social and religious values. Need for self-actualizing has positive effect on the theoretical values.

서울 및 경기지역 노인의 건강자가평가에 따른 기능적 건강 및 영양위험 평가 (Evaluation of Functional Ability and Nutritional Risk according to Self-Rated Health (SRH) of the Elderly in Seoul and Kyunggi-do)

  • A functional ability and adequate nutritional status are the major determinants of health status, Self-rated health (SRH) is a worldwide method to assess health status and it is recognized as a predictor of morbidity and mortality in the elderly, This study was designed to evaluate the functional ability and nutritional risk according to SRH in the elderly. Four hundred nine free-living elderly people (118 male, 291 female), aged $\geq$ 65 years were interviewed by trained interviewers using structured questionnaires including demographic information, SRH, anthropometric measurements, functional ability, general health status, and nutritional risk. SRH was divided into three status such as “Good”, “Moderate” and “Poor” status. And all the data were analyzed by oneway ANOVA, spearman correlation, and x$^2$ analysis using SPSS 9.0 version at p 〈 0.05. Of all the subjects, 48.9% perceived their health status as “poor”, and their functional abilities (activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living) were more impaired than their counterparts (“good” and “moderate”). Poor self-rated health was also related to: a higher prevalence of illnesses (p 〈 0,001) especially in hypertension, arthritis. Self-rated health was significantly related to food security (p 〈 0.001), food enjoyment (p 〈 0.001) ,and nutritional knowledge (p = 0.0 13). Also NSI checklist total score was the highest in “poor” health status (p 〈 0.001). Better self-rated health was related to better food security, and better food enjoyment. However, smoking, alcoholic intake, exercise, eating behaviors, and demographic characteristics were not significantly different among the three SRH status. SRH was closely related to chronic diseases, functional ability, and nutritional risk in the elderly. Therefore, public health strategies for the elderly should be focused on the elderly who are “poor” in SRH, to improve nutritional status and functional ability, and to reduce risk factors of chronic diseases.

간호대학생의 셀프리더십, 목표몰입이 문제해결능력에 미치는 융복합적 영향 (The Convergent effect of Self-Leadership and Goal Commitment on Problem Solving Ability of Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생들의 셀프리더십과 목표몰입이 문제해결능력에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 B광역시, D시 소재 4개 대학 간호학과에 재학중인 간호학생 201명의 설문을 수집하여 Spss /Win 21로 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 인구사회학적특성에 따른 문제해결능력의 차이는 나이, 학년, 전공만족도에 따라 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 셀프리더십 및 목표몰입과 문제해결능력의 상관관계는 모두 양의 상관관계로 나타났다. 셋째 문제해결능력에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 셀프리더십이 가장 높았고 그 다음으로 목표몰입, 연령순으로 문제해결에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 간호대학생의 문제 해결능력을 향상하기 위해 간호대학생들의 셀프리더십과 목표몰입을 향상시킬 수 있는 중재방안이나 교육마련이 필요하다.

청소년의 이주민에 대한 편견: 부모의 영향 및 청소년의 자아정체감과 대처양식에 미치는 영향 (Adolescent Prejudice towards Immigrants: The Role of Parents and the Effect of Adolescent Prejudice on Self-Identity and Coping Styles)

  • As the immigrant population is rapidly growing in South Korea, it is important for the next generation of Korean adolescents to foster unprejudiced attitudes towards immigrants. This paper thus seeks to shed light on adolescent prejudice towards immigrants, by addressing the following three questions: (1) Does a mother's prejudice towards immigrants and parenting style influence their adolescent children's prejudice towards immigrants? (2) Does an adolescent's prejudice towards immigrants influence his/her self-identity? (3) Does an adolescent's prejudice towards immigrants influence his/her coping styles? The sample consisted of 288 pairs of Korean adolescents and their mothers. According to hierarchical regression analyses, a mother's prejudice towards immigrants significantly predicted her adolescent's prejudice towards immigrants, after taking sociodemographic variables into account, whereas her parenting style did not. In addition, having a low level of prejudice towards immigrants among adolescents predicted high levels of self-identity (e.g. independence, proprioceptive, and mission orientation), and a greater use of positive coping skills (e.g. support-seeking and problem-solving). Overall, results showed that mothers played a significant role in shaping their adolescent's prejudice towards immigrants. Results also provided evidence that prejudice towards immigrants may interfere with the healthy development of self-identity and coping style during adolescence. In conclusion, this study suggests that multicultural education for adolescents can be more effective, when it is provided in partnership with a parent education program that is designed to raise parental multicultural awareness.

지역사회 고혈압환자 영양교육의 효과 평가 (Evaluation of the Effectiveness of a Nutrition Education Program for Hypertensive Patients at the Community Level)

  • Hypertension is the major risk factor for cardiovascular disease which is considered the leading cause of death in Korea. Since nonpharmarologic dietary intervention is recommended as the first step in the management of hypertension, evaluation of intervention programs is needed to formulate strategies for improving patients' dietary adherence. This study was designed to evaluate the overall effectiveness of a hypertension nutrition education program (HNEP) at a public health center, by assessing changes in nutrition knowledge, food attitude, self-efficacy, dietary behavior, and nutrient intake after program completion. An HNEP was conducted in Suwon city for 5 months in 1999 by a public health center. The program provided 3 sessions of group education with individual nutrition counseling. Thirty-five patients participated fully in the program out of 62 enrollees. Data about nutrition knowledge, food attitude, self-efficacy, dietary behavior, and intake (24-hour recall) were collected before (baseline) and after the program. Post program results indicate the following : 1) nutrition knowledge and perception of importance of nutrition significantly increased, 2) food attitudes also improved, 3) the self-efficacy for maintaining a low salt diet was increased significantly, whereas self-efficacy for maintaining a low fat diet or dietary guidelines was not improved, 4) frequency of intake of processed food, animal fat, and sweets as well as frequency of dining out were significantly reduced, 5) nutrient intake was not improved after the program, 6) the most serious barrier for participating in the program and practicing diet therapy was lack of time and willingness. In conclusion, it appears that HNEP might improve food attitudes, individual perceptions and self-efficacy for desirable eating behavior, but it might not improve dietary intake. It follows then, that a long term intervention program may need to increase effectiveness of patient dietary adherence.
