This paper proposes a process that determines inter-area TTC(total transfer capability) by supplementing the existing process. The process is composed of three steps, which is composed of (a) estimation of input data, (b) selection of contingencies, and (c) determination of the transfer capability. In this study, one step is added to develop the methodology that enhances the TTC.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the business performance determinants of private consulting firms supporting bottom-up local development projects in rural areas. Under the shortage of well-trained rural development professionals, Private consulting firms support rural development projects driven by the residents. Considering the important role for consulting firms to play in the success in rural development projects, it becomes necessary to review the circumstances of consulting market on rural development projects. This study targeted 80 companies that are listed in the book rural development consulting firms. Analysis showed that factors influencing the business performance are not professional competencies but other external factors. The implications based on the above results need to be considered for policy-making to ensure that consulting company selection must be guaranteed of the consulting firms'capability by detailed fields of consulting firms' capability, and the training system for rural development experts must be formed.

This paper is proposed a selection method of the major design dimension which constrain the maximum acceleration capability and minimum power loss of surface-mounted brushless do motor with NdFeB permanent magnet for servo drives. Expressions are derived from the air-gap flux density and the linear current density around the stator periphery and design dimensions. The linear current density is limited by the need to avoid demagnetization. In this paper, We compute the optimum design dimensions of 2KW BLDC motor with maximum acceleration capability and minimum power loss by using genetic algorithm.

In recent, an unfaithful construction bring about many social problems. The bidding process considering bidding price firstly is one of the reasons raising an unfaithfull construction work. Thus, we should consider many other criteria including bidding price in the bidder selection process. This paper suggests an analytic hierarchy process(AHP) model for selecting the best bidder of a large construction project. A questionnaire was used to obtain domain experts' opinion about criteria to be considered in the bidding process. A hierarchical structure of the AHP model is formed using criteria obtained in the survey. The model consists of bidding price, construction capability, financial status, faith, and their 17 sub-attributes. The relative importance of bidders are judged by pairwise comparison or absolute measurement. An illustrative example is given to show the process selecting the best bidder using the suggested AHP model.

The dispersion and attenuation of Lamb and Leaky Lamb waves propagating in a 1 mm-thick steel plate were investigated. For acquiring a long(or large) range inspection capability, the fundamental symmetric and anti-symmetric wave modes(S0 and A0) over law frequencies were studied. Based on the dispersion curves, as well as pitch-catch and multi-mode simulations, it was shown that the S0 mode over law frequencies is the proper mode to minimize the dispersion and attenuation. In addition, it was shown that the S0 mode couldbe easily distinguished under multi-mode simulation since it has a larger group velocity than the A0 mode.

This paper describes the selection and evaluation of RP processes. Major rapid prototyping processes such as SLS, SLA, FDM and LOM, which are wide spread in use are selected. A test part, which includes various primitives, is designed in order to evaluate these RP processes. Measurement of the test part is automated by using a CMN program. To visualize and analyze measured data, Microsoft Access and Visual C++ are used. Also, from measured data obtained, TOPSIS, one of the decision making methods, and Shannon Entropy is used to select an appropriate RP process for specific application.

Energy savings in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems is an active research area. In order to achieve a solution, we propose a new cooperative relaying scheme operated on a per subcarrier basis. This scheme improves the bit error rate (BER) performance of the conventional signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)-based selection relaying scheme by substituting SNR with symbol error probability (SEP) to evaluate the received signal quality at the relay more reliably. Since the cooperative relaying provides spatial diversity gain for each subcarrier, thus statistically enhancing the reliability of subcarriers at the destination, the total number of lost subcarriers due to deep fading is reduced. In other words, cooperative relaying can alleviate error symbols in a codeword so that the error correction capability of forward error correction codes can be fully exploited to improve the BER performance (or save transmission energy at a target BER). Monte-Carlo simulations validate the proposed approach.

In industry, several casting process are widely used to manufacture complex and accurate blank part of hard materials such as aluminum, casting steels, bronze and magnesium alloys which are difficult to manufacture in a blank shape. Even if the casting process does not high accuracy superior surface characteristics other machining process, the casting process is widely used in manufacturing blank part. Furthermore, it is difficult to select appropriate casting process a part among several casting process. for effective selection different process, a careful decision given casting application is necessary. An appropriate casting for a given material and shape condition must be selected for novice engineers in industry. In this paper, an expert system based on an analytic network process(ANP) is suggested for best selection of casting considering a prior interdependency effect among various factors such as material, geometry, process capability, economy and equipment.

Since in web service composition, the same service may be offered by different providers with different Quality of Services (QoS) attributes, selection criteria are needed to select which Web Services will be considered for composition. Location of provider can be one of these criteria and intends to decrease the number of remote interactions between providers as well as reducing waiting time of service consumer. Therefore in this paper, we present technique for composing web services according to their location by semantically describing customer's goals and provider's web service capability by means of carefully designed ontology and logical expression.

Since the amount of available Web Services keeps growing and thus the problem occurs - how to find an appropriate web service matching the requirements amongst the vast majority of available. This research sets the following objective to be accomplished: to assist proper service selection by semantically describing customer's goals and provider's web service capability by means of carefully designed ontologies and logical expressions, and illustrate matching cases of customer's requirements and web services capabilities.
