토마토 유묘(幼苗)의 Quinclorac에 의한 生育 저해(沮害) 정도(程度)의 품종간(品種間) 차이(差異) (Varietal Difference of Growth Inhibition by Ouinclorac in Tomato Seedling)

  • 토마토 품종간의 제초제(除草劑) Quinclorac에 대한 생육(生育) 저해(沮害) 정도의 차이를 알아 보기 위하여 토마토 8개 품종에 Quinclorac 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5g ai/ha을 토마토 유묘의 본엽 2 엽기에 토양 표면에 산포(散布)하였다. 약제 처리후 일주일 간격으로 초장을 조사하였고 약제 처리 28일후에 식물체의 건물중을 측정하였다. 무처리(無處理)에 대한 초장(草長)의 비율은 약제 처리 7일후에 최고 약량 5g ai/ha 에서 69-81%였고 나머지 약량에서는 무처리와 차이가 없었다. 약제 처리후 시간 경과에 따라 초장의 무처리에 비한 단축율(短縮率)이 커져 갔으며 약제 처리 28 일후에는 5g ai/ha에서 (2-26)*836038과(TR*VC8-1)-1-2F4가 각각 무처리의 88%와 89%로 높았고 나머지 6개 품종은 무처리의 61-68%로 낮았다. 약제 처리 28일후의 무처리에 대한 줄기의 건물중(乾物重) 비율은 초장보다 더 커서 최고 약량인 4-5g ai/ha에서 (TR*VC8-1)-1-2F4가 59%와 51%, (2-26)*836038이 각각 43%와 45%로 초장에서와 같이 가장 감소율(減少率)이 적었다. 뿌리의 건물중은 무처리보다 높았다. 줄기와 뿌리를 합한 식물체 전체의 건물중도 줄기와 동일한 경향이었다.

Isolation of Antifungal Compound and Biocontrol Potential of Lysobacter antibioticus HS124 against Fusarium Crown Rot of Wheat

  • Fusarium graminearum is the main cause of substantial economic loss in wheat production. The aim of this study is to investigate biocontrol potential of Lysobacter antibioticus HS124 against F. graminearum and to purify an antifungal compound. In preliminary study, n-butanol crude extract revealed destructive alterations in the hyphal morphology of F. graminearum and almost degraded with $1,000{\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$ concentration. For further study, the antifungal compound extracted from the n-butanol crude extract of L. antibioticus HS124 was identified as N-Butyl-tetrahydro-5-oxofuran-2-carboxamide ($C_9H_{16}NO_3$) using NMR ($^1H-NMR$, $^{13}C-NMR$, $^1H-^1H\;COSY$, HMBC, and HMQC), and HR-ESI-MS analysis. To our knowledge, N-Butyl-tetrahydro-5-oxofuran-2-carboxamide may be a novel compound with molecular weight of 186.1130. The minimum inhibitory concentration value of antifungal compound was $62.5{\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$ against F. graminearum. In an in vivo pot experiment, crown rot disease from F. graminearum was inhibited when wheat seeds were treated with both HS124 culture and F. graminearum. Growth of wheat seedling was enhanced by treatment of HS124 compared to control. Our results suggest that L. antibioticus HS124 characterized in this study could be successfully used to control F. graminearum and could be used as an alternative to chemical fungicides in modern agriculture.

옥수수 유묘를 이용한 혹명나방 사육체계 (Rearing system for rice leaffolder, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) using corn seedlings)

  • 본 논문에서는 옥수수 유묘를 이용한 간단한 혹명나방 사육체계를 보고하고자 한다. 본 사육체계는 온도 $25{\pm}2^{\circ}C$, 상대습도 410%, 광주기 16L:8D 의 실험실 조건에서 알, 어린유충(1-3령), 큰 유충(4령-전용), 번데기단계로 혹명나방 개체군을 나누어서 보호, 유지하였다. 본 사육체계에서는 특히 폴리스티렌 용기(위 ${\phi}11.3{\times}$ 아래 ${\phi}9{\times}$ H8cm)를 이용하여 채란법을 새롭게 개선시켜 쉽게 알을 보관하고 장기간 저장이 가능하도록 하였다. 본 사육체계에서 누대 사육된 집단의 용화율, 우화율, 번데기무게는 기존의 옥수수 유묘를 이용한 시험결과와 대등하였으며, 인공사료를 이용한 사육결과 보다는 우수하였다. 따라서 본 사육체계는 시험에 필요한 혹명나방 공시충을 확보하는데 보다 유용할 것으로 판단되었다.

$\textrm{CO}_2$인 농도 및 온도 환경이 고추의 묘소질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Elevated $\textrm{CO}_2$ and Temperature on the Seedling Characteristics in Green Pepper (Capsicum annuum L. cv, Soonjung))

  • 고추(Capsicum annuum L. cv. Soonjung)의 plug tray육묘시 $CO_2$와 온도처리가 우량묘생산에 미치는 효과를 조사 분석하였다. 초장은 611 ppm의 $CO_2$를 처리하였을 경우에 20.3$^{\circ}C$와 22.6$^{\circ}C$의 고온하에서 촉진되었으나, 15.6$^{\circ}C$의 저온하에서는 촉진효과가 없었다. 엽면적과 생체중은 22.6$^{\circ}C$의 고온에서 고농도의 $CO_2$를 처리하였을 경우에 현저히 증가하였다. 잎, 줄기, 뿌리 및 총건물중은 611 ppm의 $CO_2$를 처리하였을 경우에 온도가 상승할수록 증가하였으나, 397ppm의 $CO_2$농도에서는 22.6$^{\circ}C$의 고온에서 건물중이 감소하였다. 611 ppm의 $CO_2$처리에 의한 건물중의 증가는 20.3$^{\circ}C$ 이상의 고온과 고농도의 $CO_2$에서 약 1.5배 증가하였다. C/N율은 611 ppm의 $CO_2$ 처리가 397 ppm의 $CO_2$ 농도에서보다 높고, 온도의 상승과 함께 증가하였다.

Performance of Acacia senegal (L.) Wild Seedlings Growth under some Tree Manures and NPK Fertilizers in Nursery Site

  • This study aimed to assess the effects of tree manures in comparison with NPK fertilizer on growth of Acacia senegal seedlings. It was conducted in the nursery of the Faculty of Forestry, University of Khartoum, Shambat (Lat.: $15^{\circ}$ 39' 387" N and Long.: $32^{\circ}$ 30' 871" E), during August 2008 and January 2009. The growing media were prepared by mixing ground foliage of trees with sandy soil (weight/volume) as follows, Albizia lebbeck (AL): 25 g, 50 g and 75 g; Azadirachta indica (AZ): 25 g, 50 g and 75 g; Khaya senegalensis (KH): 25 g, 50 g and 75 g; NPK fertilizer: 30 g per seedling. Albizia lebbeck and Azadirachta indica manures and NPK fertilizer have stimulated the Acacia senegal seed germination percentage in comparison with the control, with respective values of 89, 82.7, 81 and 71%. Khaya senegalensis manure has suppressed the Acacia senegal seed germination percentage with a value of only 49%. Effects of treatments on the seedlings growth parameters varied in the following percentages, in comparison to the control, shoot height: AZ 62.9%, AL 46%, KH 9.9% and NPK 27.8%; root length: AZ 25.8%, AL 31.5%, KH 30.6% and NPK 4.4%; diameter: AZ 75.2%, AL 37.1%, KH 34.3% and NPK 20%; Shoot biomass: AZ 319%, AL 195.2%, KH 57.1% and NPK 42.9%; root biomass: AZ 288.9%, AL 116.7%, KH 55.6% and NPK 16.7%%;. Thus, the effectiveness of the used substrates on the growth performance of Acacia senegal seedlings occurred in the following descending order: Azadirachta indica> Albizia lebbeck>Khaya senegalensis>NPK fertilizer. These results assert clearly the ameliorative and fertilizing characteristics of tree manures that can be reliably used for raising seedlings stocks in the nurseries.

진공노즐식 파종기의 최적 작동조건 (Optimum Operating Conditions of a Vacuum Nozzle Seeder)

  • For maximum seeding efficiency of a nozzle type seeder, the performance of the nozzle should be considered sufficiently. This study was carried out to investigate the optimum operating conditions of a seeder attached the vacuum nozzle which was modified syringe needle acting on the plug seedling tray and the seed plate. Such operating factors as the hole diameter of the nozzle (d), the distance from the nozzle tip to the bottom plate of seed hopper(D) the absorbing air pressure of the nozzle tip(P) the bounding height of seed from the vibrated bottom plate of seed hopper and the seeding speed were selected based on the weight of a grain of seed(W). The treated materials were pepper seed as the flat type, cucumber seed as the oval type and radish seed as the spherical type. The optimum operating conditions of the experimental seeder were revealed as follows: 1. The height of the seed bounding from the bottom plate of seed hopper and the distance from nozzle tip to bounded seed were 5 mm and 0.5 mm at all seeds. The hole diameter of the nozzle and the absorbing pressure for pepper seed, cucumber seed and radish seed was 0.45 mm, 0.65 mm. 0.65mm and 39.2 kPa, 88.3 kPa, 58.8 kPa, respectively. 2. The absorbing pressure P was represented as P=η.4W/$\pi$d$^2$ where η was 100. The seeding speed using a 128 cell tray was 2.4 cm/s which was same transfer as 2.5 trays per minute. 3. The maximum seeding rate in case of the pepper seed was 97% the cucumber seed was 95% and the radish seed was 100% under the optimum operating conditions of the seeder.

The Allelopathic Effects of Lantana camara on Seed Germination and Growth of Selected Bioassay Species

  • The allelopathic effects of Lantana camara L. (Family:Verbenaceae) on germination and seedling establishment of some agricultural crops and weed species have been identified. Aqueous extracts of dry leaves and contaminated soil where L. camara is grown were used to verify allelopathic effect on seed germination of five bioassay species; Raphanus sativas, Capsicum annum, Lycopersicum esculantem, Crotalaria juncia and Chromoleana odorata. Fifty seeds from each bioassay species were placed in a petri dish containing leaf extracts or contaminated soil, and seed germination were examined after 3 days. The plant house experiments were carried out to evaluate the impact of L. camara contaminated soil and leaf debris using L. esculantem as the indicator plant. Seed germination of L. esculentem, C. junica and Capsicum annum was significantly inhibited by L. camara contaminated soil. However, the degree of inhibition varied among the bioassay species. The aqueous extract of dry leaves of L. camara was highly phytotoxic and it significantly reduced seed germination of all bioassay species. There was a decline in plant height, leaf area and shoot dry weight of tomato only in early growth stages when grown in L. camara contaminated soils. However, incorporation of leaf debris into soil affected the vegetative growth of tomato in early stages when the leaf debris concentration was increased. Growth recovered at the latter part of the life cycle. On the basis of these results it can be concluded that the allelochemicals in L. camara contaminated soils are harmful to the seed germination of crop species. The adverse effect was present only during the early growth stages and it did not suppress the latter part of the plant growth. These responses are attributed to allelopathic effects which need confirmation under field conditions.

숙근 안개초 신초배양에 의한 건전묘의 증식효율 향상 (Improvement of Efficiency for Multiplication of Vigorous Seedling by Shoot Cultured In Vitro in Gypsophila paniculata L.)

  • 숙근 안개초의 정단부를 이용한 기내증식은 'Bristol Fairy'에서 BA $0.2mg{\cdot} L^{-1}$, NAA $0.2mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$혼합처리로 생체중, 신초수를 증가시켰고, 'Red Sea'에서는 BA $0.2mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$, NAA $0.1mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ 혼합처리시 부정아의 수와 길이가 증가되었다. 'Bristol Fairy'에서 투명화 발생은 $7cm{\times}13cm$(지름${\times}$높이)의 배양용기 사용으로 억제되었다. 마개의 aeration처리와 agar의 농도는 투명묘 발생에 영향을 미치지 못하였으나 신초의 신장을 촉진하였다. 한편 한천의 농도가 높아질수록 부정아의 형성이 억제되었다.

고려인삼, 미국삼 및 죽절삼의 생육 및 형태적 특성 비교 (Comparison of Plant Growth and Morphological Characteristics Among the Korean Ginseng, the American Ginseng and the Bamboo Ginseng)

  • An investigation was conducted to ascertain the basic information on characteristics of growth and morphological characters among the Korean (Panax. ginseng), the American (Panax. quinquefolium) and the Bamboo (Panax. japonicus) ginseng. In aerial parts growth of the ginseng species by age, The Korean ginseng and American ginseng's stem and leaf growth was alike in 2-4 years old, but growth cycle changed in 6 years old. The Korean ginseng was more vigorous than the American ginseng. The Korean ginseng roots were highly observed in ratio of red skin roots among three species, whereas The American ginseng roots were highly infected by root rot. It seems to be variable depending on growing stage and species. The Korean ginseng flowered about the middle of May, the American ginseng early June, and the Bamboo ginseng was late of May, The berry color of the ginseng species was observed, The Korean and American ginseng's mature berry color was red, The Bamboo ginseng's berry was three type of color and shape. In root characteristics of the seedling, Korean (p. ginseng), American (p. quinquefolium) ginseng's root shape was similarity in type, the bamboo ginseng showed different type, which root length and root weight was smaller than those of ginseng. In morphological characters of Leaf surface, pollen, and stoma, the Korean ginseng and American ginseng had crystal rosette on epidermis cell, but the Bamboo ginseng didn't has crystal rosette. Pollen shape observed tricolpate pollen and size was media type among the ginseng species, and also guard cell was anomocytic type, which were observed by scanning electronic microscope.

  • 공시약제(供試藥劑) 모두가 천수조건하(淺水條件下)에서는 경미(輕微)한 정도(程度) 이상(以上)의 약해(藥害)가 있었으며, 특(特)히 bensulfuron-methyl은 3cm에서 그리고 pretilachlor는 1cm 천수(淺水)에서 약해(藥害)가 커졌으며 계량적(計量的)(초장(草長), 분벽수(分蘗數), 건물중(乾物重))으로는 처리후(處理後) 40일(日)까지도 생육억제(生育抑制)가 있었으나 달관적(達觀的)으로는 처리후(處理後) 15일(日) 경(傾)부터 빠른 회복을 나타내었다. 일당(日當) 감수심(減水深)이 증대(增大)됨으로써, 공시제초제(供試除草劑)의 전반적인 약해(藥害)가 증가(增加)되는 경향(傾向)이었으며, 특히 dimepiperate는 감수심(減水深)이 적은 곳에서의 초기생육(初期生育)에서만 다소의 생육지연(生育遲延)이 있었고 감수심(減水深)이 큰 사양토(砂壤土) 등지에서 사용(使用)이 제한(制限)되고 있는 bensulfuron-methyl은 어린묘(苗)의 경우, 감수심(減水深)과 관계없이 전반적(全般的)으로 높은 약해(藥害)를 나타내었다.
