We propose an improved M-ISMS(Military-ISMS) model which is based on common ISMS model for regarding military's unique characteristics. Our model focuses on 'Internal Security Audit' and 'Management of external activity' as military circumstances. So, we added the six control new items as internal security audits. Because the confidentiality is more important than availability in military service as compared with private sectors. In addition, we propose some control suggestions for establishing security management standards and keeping level maintenance when it will becomes to lose a value as confidential. The M-ISMS model in this paper has effectiveness which prevents security incidents in advance rapidly throughout a variety of common ISMS's advantages and security incidents of private sectors in consideration of military characteristics.
This thesis analyzes Somali piracy as a non-traditional threat to the Sea Lines of Communication (SLOC) and international countermeasures to the piracy. In an era of globally interdependent economies, the protection of sea lines and freedom of navigation are prerequisites for the development of states. Since the post-Cold War began in the early 1990s, ocean piracy has emerged as a significant threat to international trade. For instance, in the Malacca Strait which carries 30 percent of the world's trade volume, losses from failed shipping, insurance, plus other subsequent damages were enormous. Until the mid-2000s, navies and coast guards from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, together with the International Maritime Organization (IMO), conducted anti-piracy operations in the Strait of Malacca. The combined efforts of these three maritime states, through information sharing and with reinforced assets including warships and patrol aircrafts, have successfully made a dent to lower incidents of piracy. Likewise, the United Nations' authorization of multinational forces to operate in Somali waters has pushed interdiction efforts including patrol and escort flotilla support. This along with self-reinforced security measures has successfully helped lower piracy from 75 incidents in 2012 to 15 in 2013. As illustrated, Somali piracy is a direct security threat to the international community and the SLOC which calls for global peacekeeping as a countermeasure. Reconstructing the economy and society to support public safety and stability should be the priority solution. Emphasis should be placed on restoring public peace and jurisdiction for control of piracy as a primary countermeasure.
This paper is model can be useful and capable of automatically collecting and classifying the various information about a wide range of security incidents such as hackings, worms, spyware, cyber-terror, network espionage and information warfare from firewall, IDS, VPN and so on. According to them Internet game and an automated/integrated computer emergency response system can perform an attack assessment and an early warning for any incidents based on Enterprise Security Management environment.
Purpose: In this paper, we propose a common dataset structure which includes the incidents investigation information and features data for machine learning. Most of the data is from the incidents reports of the governmental part and restricts on the social disaster and safety areas. Method: Firstly, we extract basic incidents data from the several incident investigation reports. The data includes the cause, damage, date, classification of the incidents and additionally considers the feature data for the machine learning. All data is represented by XML standard notation. Result: We defined the standard XML schema and the example for the incidents investigation information. Conclusion: We defined the common incidents dataset structure for the machine learning. It may play roles of the common infrastructure for the disaster and safety applications areas

The expansion of the internet has made web applications become a part of everyday lift. As a result the number of incidents which exploit web application vulnerabilities are increasing. A large percentage of these incidents are SQL Injection attacks which are a serious security threat to databases with potentially sensitive information. Therefore, much research has been done to detect and prevent these attacks and it resulted in a decline of SQL Injection attacks. However, there are still methods to bypass them and these methods are too complex to implement in real web applications. This paper proposes a simple and effective SQL Query attribute value removal method which uses Static and Dynamic Analysis and evaluates the efficiency through various experiments.

Recently, personal information leakage incidents with increased usage of mobile services are increasing. Personal information leakage incidents can have a significant impact on an individual's mobile banking services. Accordingly, we examine relationships among individual's psychological characteristics, intention and behavior regarding compliance in an individual's perception on personal information leakage incidents in mobile banking contexts. In this study, for explaining our research model and understanding with personal psychology and behavior in mobile banking contexts, we adopted two theories, theory of interpersonal behavior and stimulus-response theory. We collected the 55 data using online surveyor and then analyzed structural equation model in order to find causal relationships among research variables. The results of this study should be useful to the mobile banking services companies in promoting service users to follow the information privacy policies.

Recently, pirate incidents involving passing ships have been continuously occurring in the seas southwest of the Philippines, the Sulu Sea and the Celebes Sea. Pirates in these areas are members of the "Abu Sayyaf Group", which consists of Islamic armed rebels. They have abducted and confined 59 ship crews over the last 13 months to obtain money for group operations. The activities of these pirates, abducting and killing crews, have became a significant threat for marine security in the Sulu and Celebes Seas and for logistic activities in Asia. This study examines and analyzes 22 recent incidents in terms of ships gross tonnage, kind, nationality, incident time, location, etc. The identity of the Abu Sayyaf Group, which has been committing this piracy and represents the de facto power behind the actors responsible, is also unpacked, along with current challenges to resolving these conflicts. Finally, responses passing ships, shipping companies, related countries and the international community should make are proposed.
The attackers on Internet-connected systems we are seeing today are more serious and more technically complex than those in the past. Computer security incidents are different from many other types of crimes because detection is unusually difficult. So, network security managers need a IDS and Firewall. IDS (Intrusion Detection System) monitors system activities to identify unauthorized use, misuse or abuse of computer and network system. It accomplishes these by collecting information from a variety of systems and network resources and then analyzing the information for symptoms of security problems. A Firewall is a way to restrict access between the Internet and internal network. Usually, the input ...

The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, which brings many benefits to our lives, has resulted in numerous IoT devices in many parts of our living environment. However, to adapt to the rapid changes in the IoT market, numerous IoT devices were widely deployed without implementing security by design at the time of development. As a result, malicious attackers have targeted IoT devices, and IoT devices lacking security features have been compromised by attackers, resulting in many security incidents. In particular, an attacker can take control of an IoT device, such as Mirai Botnet, that has insufficient security features. The IoT device can be used to paralyze numerous websites by performing a DDoS attack against a DNS service provider. Therefore, this study proposes a scheme to minimize security vulnerabilities and threats in IoT devices to improve the security of the IoT service environment.
The government and companies build a DDoS correspondence system hastily to protect assets from cyber threats. It has become more and more intelligent and advanced such as DDoS attack. However, when outbreaks of the social incidents such as 7.7 DDoS attack(2009.7.7) or cases of the direct damage occurred, information security systems(ISS) only become the issue in the short term. As usual, sustained investment about ISS is a negative recognition. Since the characteristic of ISS is hard to recognize the effectiveness of them before incidents occurs. Also, results of incidents occurred classify attack and detection. Detailed and objective measurement criterion to measure effectiveness and efficiency of ISS is not existed. Recently, it is progress that evaluation and certification about for the information security management system(ISMS). Since these works propose only a general guideline, it is difficult to utilize as a result of ISMS improvement for organization. Therefore, this paper proposes a framework to develop main criteria by a correspondence strategy and process. It is able to detailed and objective measurements.
