Water level fluctuations of the Tonle Sap derived from ALOS PALSAR

  • The Tonle Sap, Cambodia, is a huge lake and periodically flooded due to monsoon climate. The incoming water causes intensive flooding that expands the lake over vast floodplain and wetland consisting mainly of forests and shrubs. Monitoring the water-level change over the floodplain is essential for flood prediction and water resource management. A main objective of this study is flood monitoring over Tonle Sap area using ALOS PALSAR. To study double-bounce effects in the lake, backscattering effect using ALOS PALSAR dual-polarization (HH, HV) data was examined. InSAR technique was applied for detection of water-level change. HH-polarization interferometric pairs between wet and dry seasons were best to measure water level change around northwestern parts of Tonle Sap. The seasonal pattern of water-level variations in Tonle Sap studied by InSAR method is similar to the past and altimeter data. However, water level variation measured by SAR was much smaller than that by altimeter because the DInSAR measurement only represents water level change at a given region of floodplain while altimeter provides water level variation at the central parts of the lake.

  • 급증하고 있는 전력수요에 대한 신뢰성 있는 예측은 합리적인 전력수급계획 수립 및 운용에 있어서 매우 중대한 사안이다. 본 논문에서는 여러 시계열 모형의 비교를 통해 전력수요량과 밀접한 연관성이 있는 온도를 어떠한 형태로 고려할 것인지, 또한 4계절이 뚜렷하여 계절별 기온 차가 많이 나는 우리나라의 특성을 어떻게 고려할 것인지에 대하여 연구하였다. 모형 간 예측력을 비교하기 위하여 Mean Absolute Percentage Error(MAPE)를 사용하였다. 모형의 성능비교 결과는 냉 난방지수와 계절요인을 동시에 고려하면서 큰 변동성을 잘 고려해줄 수 있는 Reg-AR GARCH 모형이 가장 우수한 예측력을 나타냈다.

한국 증권시장의 주가변동성에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Stock Volatility of the Korean Stock Market)

  • 본 연구에서는 French, Schwert, & Stambaugh와 Schwert의 연구에 사용된 방법을 이용하여 한국 증권시장에서 주식수익률의 변동성의 특징을 분석하였다. 본 연구에 사용된 모형은 주식시장의 변동성의 시계열 특성에 대한 보다 조직적 분석을 제공한다. 간단히 말하면, 이 모형들은 일별 수익률로부터 자기회귀 및 계절적 영향을 제거함으로써 예기치 못한 수익률을 추정할 수 있게 한다. 그리고 나서 자기회귀 및 계절적 모형에 예기치 못한 수익률의 절대값을 이용하여 주가변동성을 예측하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 총체적 주식수익률의 움직임에 대한 지속성은 미약하고, 자기회귀모형에 비정상성이 있을 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 일별 주가변동성의 움직임이 주식수익률의 움직임보다 훨씬 예측가능하다는 것을 발견하였다. 둘째, 변동성의 증가가 미래 기대수익률을 증가시킨다는 증거는 미약하고, 변동성이 시차 주식수익률과 관계가 있다는 사실을 알 수 있었다.

원적외선 대역의 태양 직사광 해수면 반사신호 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Sunglint in LongWave InfraRed Band)

  • In maritime environment, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of sunglint since it may degrade the target detection performance of the infrared sensor mounted weapons. In this paper, sunglint in LWIR band is modeled using the slope distribution of the sea surface, and is verified by comparing the radiance of a simulated result with that of the real world. According to the simulation, sunglint is critical when the solar zenith angle is over $60^{\circ}$. The peak radiance of sunglint grows as the solar zenith angle increases until it reaches $83^{\circ}$ and has a large difference depending on the solar zenith angle when the wind speed is small. Finally, seasonal and temporal characteristics of sunglint effects are analyzed. In summer, sunglint is dominant in the horizon near the solar azimuth right after sunrise and before sunset. However, in winter, the influence of sunglint lasts even during the daytime since the elevation of the sun is much lower than in summer.

  • IBS(Irritable bowel syndrome) means disorder of intestinal motility. To increase the cure rate of IBS, we have observed and analysed 26 persons who have administered Ansinbobitang(安神補脾湯), Ansinbobitang(安神補脾湯) consists of herb medicines which have tranquilizational(安神), reinforcing the spleen(補脾), and tonifying the kidney's Yang(補腎陽) effects. From this study we obtained as follows. 1. 16 cases of IBS patients were male and 10 cases were female. Male of female ratio was 1 : 1.6, and the peak age in incidence of IBS was in End and 3rd decade. 2. Duration of IBS attack, the most frequence is $0{\sim}1$ year and $3{\sim}5$ years. 3. Seasonal distribution of IBS attack reveals the peak occurrence in autumn. 4. Duration of treatments, the most frequence is $2{\sim}3$ weeks. 5. Ansinbobitang(安神補脾湯) shows 88.5% of effective rate.

Ichthyoplankton Detection Proportion and Margin of Error for the Scomber japonicus in Korean Coastal Seas

  • The probability distribution of ichthyoplankton is important for enhancing the precision of sampling while reducing unnecessary surveys. To estimate the ichthyoplankton detection proportion (IDP) and its margin of error (ME), the monitoring information of the chub mackerel's (Scomber japonicus) ichthyoplankton presence-absence sampling data has been were collected over approximately 30 years (from 1982 to 2011) in the Korean coastal seas. Based on the computed spatial distributions of the mackerel's IDP and ME, the confidence interval (CI) range, defined as 2 ME, decreases from approximately 80% to 40% as the sample size n increases from 4 to 24 and the ME is approximately 40% in the typical (seasonal survey) case n = 4 per year. The IDP and ME off Jeju Island are relatively high at the 0.5-degree smoothing level. After increasing the spatial smoothing level to 1.0-degree, the ME decreased, and the spatial distribution pattern also changed due to the over-smoothing effects. In this study, the 0.5-degree smoothing is more suitable for the distribution pattern than the 1.0-degree smoothing level. The area of the high IDP and the low ME on the mackerel's ichthyoplankton was similar to the estimated spawning ground in the Korean peninsula. This information could contribute to enhancing for the spawning ecology surveys.

  • 은수원사시나무 1/1년생(年生), 1/2년생(年生) 및 7/8년생(年生)에 대(對)하여 간(幹)의 수액류속도(樹液流速度)을 관찰(觀察)하였던 바 유속(流速)은 수령간(樹令間)과 포지(圃地)의 토양수분(土壤水分)의 차이(借異)보다는 공중습도(空中濕度)와 착엽성(着葉性)에 가장 크게 영향을 받고 다음은 기온(氣溫)에 영향받고 있음을 볼 수 있었다.

목초의 생산성에 미치는 차광의 영향 (Influence of Shading on the Productivity of Grasses and Legumes)

  • Four foreign pasture cultivars such as Lotus corniculatus cv. Maitland, Trifolium pratense cv. Deben, Lolium perenne cv. $S_{23}$ and .Dactylis glomerata cv. $S_{26}$ were tested with "Kwisan" series, a common upland soil in Southern part of Korea. The cultivars in single or mixture were grown in pot with two levels of light intensity, i.e. a full sun light condition and 50% interception. Dry matter yield of top and root and their seasonal changes, the number of tillers or branches per plant and finally competative effects of mixtures were evaluated by estimating the expected yield, relative yield totals and compensation index. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Maitland showed a significant decrease in dry matter yield in shade condition, but the number of branches of Maitland was higher than those of Deben. 2. Maitland showed higher dry matter yield than Deben during the mid-summer period, while $S_{23}$, showed higher dry matter yield than $S_{26}$ during early season. 3. Mixtures of $S_{23}$ and Maitland, and $S_{26}$ and Deben gave better response to grasses by increasing the number of tillers in shade condition. 4. Combinations of Lotus corniculatus cv. Maitland and Dactylis glomerata cv. $S_{26}$ and Trifolium pratense cv. Deben and Dactylis glomerata cv. $S_{26}$ gave higher relative yield totals and higher compensation index, which envisages that the pasture establishment rates can be enhanced when those mixtures were sown by the oversowing method in the upland soil where phosphate level is very low and infertile in general.n general.

  • 여름우기와 겨울기간 동안에 준건조 기후 유역들(Lucky Hills 그리고 Kendall) 로부터 측정된 기상학적 그리고 토양 함수량 자료를 이용하여 증발산의 조절변수들 간에 상관관계와 매일의 실제 증발산량 산정을 위한 변수들의 영향을 연구하였다. 기상학적 요소와 토양 함수량의 중요도를 알아보기 위하여 단순, 다변량선형상관분석들이 적용되어졌으며, 얻어진 정보는 다변량선형상관모델을 개발하기 위하여 사용되어졌다. 유효 에너지와 대기 증기압 차는 두 다른 유역과 계절 기간 동안에 증발산을 지배하는 중요한 변수인 것으로 판명되어졌다. 그러므로 준건조 기후 지역에 있어서 증발산 과정의 중요한 변수로는 단순히 Penman에 의해서 제안된 잠재 증발산 모형의 에너지 항에 있어서 유효 에너지와 공기 동력 항에 있어서 대기증개압차인 것으로 나타났다.

무우 배추 포장내의 병원성 토양미생물 소장 (The fluctuation of soil pathogenic microbes population in radish and chinese cabbage fields)

  • In order to study the effects of cropping system and fungicide (Dachigaren) on soil microbes, the seasonal fluctuations of soil microbes in the fields of radish and Chinese cabbage including soil pH, Soil moisture content and soil temperature were investigated on every 15 day interval from the begining of March to late October in 1981. The population of total fungus peaked at the begining of July, while that of total bacteria, at the begining of August. They were affected by soil temperature, however pathogenic microbes seemed to be more related with host plants than the soil temperature, because pathogens showed high density through the whole cultivation period. The pathogenic microbes showed the density of order ; Xanthomonas, Erwinia, Pseudomonas, Agrobacterium and Corynebacterium. Xanthomonas, Erwinia and Pseudomonas, which induced radish and Chinese cabbage diseases were higher than Agrobacterium and Corynebacterium in population densigy. Bacterial soft rot occured at the density of Erwinia $5.9{\sim}6.6{\times}10^5/dry$ soil 1 gram. The density of microbes on continuous fields were higher than that of rotating fields, but there were no significant difference between treated fungicide plot and non treated in the density of microbes, also no difference between Chinese cabbage and radish growing fields.
