근적외선(NIR) 분광광도계에 의한 참기름의 진위판별에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determination of Adulteration of Sesame Oil by Near Infrared Spectroscopy)

  • Adulteration of sesame oil using near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy was determined. Vegetable oils including sesame oil were scanned on the NIR spectrophotometer at 400-2500 nm. Partial least square (PLS) was applied on the standardized full NIR spectral data. Discriminant analysis with PLS is adequate for determination of sesame oil adulteration, except with decreasing adulteration rate. Designing of quality control system, which uses NIR spectroscopy to measure adulteration level of sesame oil is thus possible, although more work is required to give acceptable accuracy level.

Enhanced Mechanical Properties of Functionalized Graphene Oxide/linear Low Density Polyethylene Composites Prepared by Melt Mixing

  • Graphene oxide (GO) was concurrently reduced and functionalized using long alkyl chain dodecyl amine (DA). The DA functionalized GO (DA-G) was assumed to disperse homogenously in linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE). Subsequently, DA-G was used to fabricate DA-G/LLDPE composites by melt mixing technique. Fourier transform infrared spectra analysis was performed to ascertain the simultaneous reduction and functionlization of GO. Field emission scanning electron microscopy analysis was performed to ensure the homogenous distribution and dispersion of DA-G in LLDPE matrix. The enhanced storage modulus value of the composites validates the homogenous dispersion of DA-G and its good interfacial interaction with LLDPE matrix. An increased in tensile strength value by ~ 64% also confirms the generation of good interface between the two constituents, through which efficient load transfer is possible. However, no significant improvement in glass transition temperature was observed. This simple technique of fabricating LLDPE composites following industrially viable melt mixing procedure could be realizable to developed mechanically strong graphene based LLDPE composites for future applications.

경영정보학의 학문적 위상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Scientific Status of MIS)

  • The inability of the management information systems (MIS) field to progress as a scientific discipline has been attributed to the lack of systematic research and a cumulative tradition, an identity crisis, and the poverty of scientism. While research on the status of MIS is very important in order to enhance the field as a scientific discipline, few have investigated this issue. Following Thomas Kuhn's idea of paradigm, this paper studies other fields to investigate when they progressed, when they did not, and why. After research paradigm was broken down into technology-push and demand-pull types, a model on the science life cycle was developed in an effort to explain the path how a science has progressed. A test of this model in the fields of physics and chemistry with an old historial background reveals that the scientific progress in the area of demand-pull is more desirable if this progress turns out to be in the right direction. An application of the model to the MIS field shows that the research paradigm in this field is mainly of technology-push. In order to shift this paradigm toward the demand-pull area, this paper suggests the research on the relationship among MIS subfields and the adoption of appropriate reference disciplines.

세이핀의 사회구성주의에 대한 비판적 고찰 (A Critical Examination of Shapin's Social Constructivism)

  • 이 논문의 목적은 과학지식사회학의 대표적 사례 연구에 해당하는 보일의 공기펌프에 대한 세이핀의 연구를 중심으로 사회구성주의의 타당성을 검토하는 것이다. 나는 이 글에서 과학적 활동은 인식적 차원과 비인식적 차원을 갖고 있으며 사회구성주의는 후자를 강조한 나머지 전자의 중요성을 무시함으로써 과학적 지식에 대한 균형 잡힌 이해를 제공할 수 없다는 것을 주장한다. 논의 순서는 우선 진공펌프에 관한 보일과 홉스의 논쟁의 인식적 차원이 검토되고 이어서 비인식적 차원을 강조하는 세이핀의 설명이 검토된다. 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 세이핀의 사회구성주의의 한계점이 지적된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 한국과학기술정보연구원(KISTI)에서 지정하여 지원하고 있는 우리나라 과학기술분야 전문정보센터를 대상으로 정보서비스 체계 전반에 대한 현황 및 문제점을 분석$\cdot$파악하고 이를 토대로 최신의 정보기술을 반영$\cdot$적용한 우리나라 과학기술분야 전문정보센터의 효율적인 정보서비스 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 선행연구 분석, 설문조사, 해당기관 직접방문을 통한 관련자 면담, 해당기관 홈페이지의 관련 사이트 분석, 그리고 관련 전문가로 구성된 상시협의체의 회의를 통한 Brainstorming 방범 등을 병행하여 실시하였다.

Experimental and Finite Element Analysis of Free Vibration Behaviour of Graphene Oxide Incorporated Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composite

  • In the present study, the effect of GO in damping capacity of CF/epoxy laminates was studied via free vibration analysis. The composite laminates were manufactured by using vacuum assisted resin transfer molding technique. The damping properties of the prepared hybrid composites were determined in terms of natural frequency and damping ratio in free vibration test. The foremost aspire of this investigation was to compare the vibration properties i.e. natural frequency and modal damping of the prepared composites with the numerical results. The numerical study was carried out via FEA using $ANSYS^{TM}$ workbench software. The parametric study of the numerical models was also studied considering the beam free length and the beam thickness. It was found that the incorporation of GO enhanced the damping capacity of the composite and the variation of natural frequencies in mode1varied by 2-5% compared to the experimental study.

  • Price fluctuation contract is imperative and of paramount essence in the construction industry as it provides adequate relief and cushioning for changes in the prices of input resources during construction. As a result, several methods have been devised to better help in arriving at fair recompense in the event of price chang es. However, stakeholders often appear not to be satisfied with the existing methods of fluctuation evaluation, ostensibly because of the challenges associated with them. The aim of this study was to identify the challenges to usage of building construction cost indices in Ghana. Data was gathered from contractors and quantity surveying firms. The study utilized survey questionnaire approach to elicit responses from the contractors and the consultants. Data gathered was analyzed scientifically, using the Relative Importance Index (RII) to rank the problems associated with the existing methods. The findings revealed the following among others; late release of data; inadequate recovery of costs; and work items of interest not included in the published indices as the main challenges of the existing methods. This study will provide useful lessons for policy makers and practitioners in decision making towards the usage and improvement of available indices.

  • ISO international quality management system plays an important role in many organizations. It has been a basis to build quality management system in organizations to meet customer's need. Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information(hereinafter KISTI) is first ISO registered organization in field of scientific and technological information service in Korea. But many foreign organizations have been registered to ISO or have other quality management system in same field. We can find some issues from the result of KISTI's ISO 9001:2000 quality management system registration.

초등 과학교과 교사용 지도서 생명 영역 단원 및 차시 목표의 일관성 분석 (A Analysis on Consistency of Learning Objectives of Units and Instructional Units in Elementary School Biology Teaching Guide-Books)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the consistency and balance of learning objectives of units and instructional units according to grades and educational domains. Educational domains were cognitive(scientific knowledge), scientific inquiry(inquiry process skills), affective(scientific attitude), and science-technology-society(STS). Learning objectives of life field of the 7th elementary science curricular teaching guidebooks were analysed. Scientific inquiry process skill objectives(43.5%) were most dominant in units, but cognitive objectives(53.9%) were most dominant in instructional units. STS objectives were most recessive in both units and instructional units. Especially, objectives of units and instructional units were shown no consistency by grade. The results of this study suggested that the textbooks and teaching guidebooks should be developed consistently by considering learning activities and contents on the basis of background and properties of science curriculum.
