Reading abilities are the key for students' problem-solving, self-directed learning and lifelong competency. Reading to learn is usually created through resources-based learning or inquiry-based learning. This study shows a integrated cross-curriculum approach as a alternative method of the reading to learn and it is completed In collaboration with classroom teachers. In this study especially, the model for reading-based information problem solving is introduced as a specific learning strategy of a integrated cross-curriculum and team-teaching.

The purpose of this study is to consider how to restructure the university geometry curriculum and contents in terms of applications to theoretical computer science. We analyzed various topics from computer graphics, CAGD(computer aided geometric design) and computational geometry suitable for geometry students interested in applications. Moreover we discussed about selections of topics for several cases.

Recently, the Web 2.0 and RSS techniques have gained enormous attention in the Internet and e-Learning fields. In this paper, we design a RSS system on the Web 2,0 base for e-Learning, and implement the educational RSS information sharing system for back-to-basic curriculum of secondary schools that is called EduRSS. Our EduRSS can create web feed file with RSS format from learning blogs for back-to-basic curriculum, and share it with other users conveniently. In addition, it also provide the recommendation function to improve the reliability of the RSS feed resources.

This study aims to expand the future study methodology and to develop a methodology of future-oriented curriculum analysis with future skills needs derived from patent analysis. With the case of information security, the methodology is applied to the 16 universities, which have information security department in undergraduate course. From the results, the followings are suggested : 1) for the increasing importance area including hacking, infiltration and PC security, a practical exercise should be emphasized; 2) for the convergence area including security policy, security legislation and OS security, proper faculties should be filed with recruiting field-based experts; 3) for the increasing importance area including professional area including security audit and information security protocol, the advanced curriculum related to graduate level should be provided.

Recently, the Ministry of Education is striving to move education and school libraries toward the information age and to create an atmosphere open education. School libraries need to be furnished with lots of useful materials for the curriculum of open education. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. Nonprofit organizations such as school libraries should adopt the concepts and techniques of marketing to solve the problems for the rational management of the system. 2. Marketing techniques can be adopted in the areas such as collection development, service fee, selection of the place of library, advertising, better library user organization etc. 3. School libraries should be total educational information centers to realize educational goal and the curricular. 4. Procedures for marketing strategies for school libraries are embodied in mission statement, environmental analysis, marketing audit, marketing mix, marketing segmentation, evaluation methods etc. 5. The 4 "Ps", product, price, place, promotion make up the marketing mix for school libraries.libraries.

The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze secondary school chemistry education in Korea and China in order to identify implications for the improvement of Korean chemistry education. The school systems, curricula, and teacher education related to secondary chemistry education of both countries were compared and analyzed. The 6-3-3-4 school system is used in both countries, and national school curricula are formulated by the Ministries of Education in both countries. The 1996 chemistry curricular standard for advanced middle schools in China, and 1997 chemistry curriculum for Korean high schools were compared in several aspects, followed by comparisons of chemistry teacher education in both countries. Based on the comparative analysis of chemistry education, some ideas and issues which provide implications for improving Korean high school chemistry education were identified. Chemistry teaching in the junior secondary schools, tentative implementation of curricula, required course work in chemistry, structure of curricula, oral assessments, probation of teachers and other issues are identified and discussed in this study.

The practice named "Creative Design and Production" has been given to train the students'ability to find and solve problems. Students are expected to design and fabricate creative artifacts in the practice. The practices focusing on perfection and creativity of the products have been executed for the past few years. We have reviewed the relationships between these abilities and the qualities of products of the students in the practices. It seems that the products lacks of originality and creativity when focused on the perfection. And on the contrary, the perfection of the products is low when focused on the creativity. We have employed the new three trials in order to solve these problems in the practice. Among trials, the cooperation with veterans has been the most useful for students through "Creative Design and Production".

In Korea, mathematics education has been changed according to the 7th national mathematics curriculum renovated by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development announcement in 1997. The education of probability and Statistics has been carried out as a part of this curriculum. We analyze and compare 3 kinds of mathematics textbooks for 10-12 grade students. Descriptions of random variable, sample variance and sample standard deviation, distribution of sample mean, and etc. which are on some textbooks, are misleaded in school education. We suggest the unbiased estimator of sample variance in textbooks and distributions of sample means with normal population assumption.

본 논문에서는 초등학교 정보교육의 실태를 교육 과정적 측면에서 살펴보고, 국내 정보교육의 큰 문제점이라고 할 수 있는 교육 과정 부재의 문제를 극복하고자 CSTA K-12 기준안을 분석하여 정보교육의 체계성을 확보하고 더 나아가 정보교육과정을 수립을 위한 기초 연구를 진행하고자 하였다. 초등학교 정보교육의 근거가 될 수 있는 2007년, 2009년 개정 초등학교 교육과정, 2005년 초 중등학교 정보통신기술교육 운영지침의 정보 관련 부분을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 정보교육의 필요성을 강조하는 세계적 추세에도 불구하고 국가 수준의 교육과정은 시수 및 교사의 확보, 콘텐츠의 체계성 면에서 이러한 흐름을 반영하고 있지 못하다는 결론을 도출하였으며, 이의 극복 방안으로 컴퓨터 과학의 최근의 추세를 반영하고 있는 CSTA K-12 기준안을 통하여 국내의 정보교육 활동을 체계화하고 교육과정을 수립하기 위한 근거를 제시하고자 하였다.

In 2004 Daejeon University established a department of military studies by an agreement with the Korea Army. And more than three universities brought up the rear. This means that military studies is authorized as one of university majors by the Higher Education Act. The department enables students not only to graduate with a degree of Military Studies but also to receive officer’s commission in the Korea Army. All students incur seven-year military services by receiving four-year scholarships from the Army. The graduates start out as Second Lieutenants and become eligible for promotion. This article deals with (i) how the major came to be offered; (ii) details of the curricula of some universities; (iii) two perspectives on the curriculum of Military Studies (One is education for a good man, the other for a good warrior); finally (iv) the issues under debate as Military Studies is authorized as a science, and the problems awaiting solution.
