The purpose of this study is to develop the public library programs that support the needs of multicultural families by examining the details of their information needs, focusing on the children's education issues of multicultural families. For this purpose, the data on experiences and needs related to the education of multicultural families' children were collected through in-depth interviews with married immigrant women. The study found the following six types of children's education-related needs of multicultural families: 1) Lack of understanding about the educational system and situation of Korean schools, 2) Their children's needs for language and learning 3) Their children's Bilingual education 4) Educational information for the role of parents, 5) Prejudice and discrimination against their children at school 6) Supporting library awareness and experience of mulitcultural families. Based on these needs, the following programs were suggested: 1) Parent role program for children's education, 2) Children's learning program, 3) Children's language education program, 4) Multicultural understanding education, 5) Library user education and guidance.

Public library is established on impartial accessibility of any distinction as their sex, age, financial status, etc. The function of public library is not only to accumulate materials and offer information but also minimize gulf between the rich and the poor by knowledge possession, which is realized by important means to intercept exclusive possession and power in knowledge pose-industrial society. As it is judged that most public library is established to individual building with thousands of cost, it is judged of obstacles to Increase library buildings. The purpose of this study is try to find the way to Increase In number of public library In Seoul by interaction local education-cultural facilities. The result from this study, the user rate of public library is influenced by number of buildings and accessibility of traffic and public library can improve efficiency by substantial operation by basic function for all age group. The target population of Seoul public library sizes by decuple of advanced countries because of difficulty of accessibility, so it needs to make it small scale and also can offer self-regulation learning, materials and life-long learning programs because generally public library's utilization purpose is different by age. As school in Seoul amounts to 25 times of public library by about 1,200 buildings and can function of lifelong education center with a school library, cultural center and other composition buildings, so school facilities may use as a public library for local residents.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the principles of school library media center program and to finds out present level and future outlook of the program implementation in primary and middle school. The fundamental objective of school is learning and school library functions as a link to support this objective. Therefore quality of education must always be linked to the library media programs. A questionaire which consists of 13 questions covering school library media center operation was designed to final out how learning-teaching media program is being practiced in Korea. Based on this study, it is concluded that there is significant difference between present practice level and desired future-oriented practice. It is hoped that this study will help planners in formulating school library policy to achieve educational goal of the school.

This paper aims to propose ways to promote SNS marketing at school library sites with case study analyses in school libraries. To this end, in-depth interview was conducted with 10 Teacher Librarians who had used SNS in library operation and an in analysis was made of the operation status, motives and objectives, strategies and performances of the school library's SNS marketing. According to the study, most Teacher Librarians were found to be using SNS such as Facebook, Instagram, Kakao Plus Friends and so on in an attempt to improve accessibility and utilization of the library resources first. Not only that, they used SNS for the purpose of communicating with users while increasing the number of visitors and identifying the needs of users. The messages provided through SNS are information on school libraries and their reading programs, and the target market mainly involved their students. Based on the above research results, measures to promote SNS in school libraries were discussed, including the need for marketing consultative bodies, expansion of SNS targets, and enhancement of expertise in SNS.

This study purposed to evaluate a youth reading promotion program that is designed and operated by the National Library for Children & Young Adults. The study specifically assessed the '1318 Bookworm Program' by conducting an in-depth survey and a focus group interview for school librarians who had participated in the program between 2007 and 2010. According to the study findings, the program participants were highly satisfied with the program outcomes. The librarians believed that the program brought positive effects on the cognitive, emotional, and social developments of the participated teens. Among the 1318 program operation process, namely designing, planning, and implementation, both planning and implementation processes were the determining factors for the outcome satisfaction. Finally, study participants expressed the needs for increasing the number of the certified professional school librarians active in the field, expanded organization structure, and further research on youth reading promotion programs in order to facilitate the program support and to enhance its efficiency. They also suggested diversified program contents development and the dissemination of manuals for youth reading promotion programs.

The purpose of this study was to develop a reading instruction program which could help improve multiple intelligences related to personality, and then show its effectiveness. We conducted a survey of one junior high school in Chung-Nam province, consisting of 500 students in 18 classes to analyze what develops the three areas of multiple intelligences(intrapersonal intelligence, interpersonal intelligence and naturalist intelligence). We then want to proceed by developing reading instruction programs focusing on the growth of multiple intelligences.

The objective of this study was to investigate factors that could bring about successful implementation of extensive reading using online/offline blended English library system called 'Reading Gate' in primary and secondary schools. Although there are a great number of studies on effects of various extensive reading on linguistic, cognitive, and affective development, few studies have investigated how extensive reading programs can be implemented at large scale, e.g., whole school level. After analyzing students' reading levels in 200 schools using the same online extensive reading program called Reading Gate, results showed that while some schools were successful, others were not. Five primary and 13 middle schools were selected as successful schools. Data on implementation of the program of schools was gathered. Eighteen teachers and seven headteachers took part in the interview. After analyzing these data on the implementation of the extensive reading program, results revealed that the following five factors for successful implementation of blended extensive reading programs: online level-up system, teacher intervention, integration with the curriculum, school-level support, and parents' awareness of literacy. This suggests that each factor might have contributed to the successful implementation of the extensive reading program at large scale. Implications and applications of this finding are discussed in this study.

The standards for school library in America affected school library policy in US as well as worlds. The America standards for school library established by NEA for the first time in 1920. After the first standard established, America standards revised about 10 times to accommodate educational and technological changes. The Americas new school library standards 'empowering learners: guidelines for school library media programs' established by AASL in 2009. The guidelines are relevant to the 'standards for the 21st-century learner', 'standards for the 21st-century learner in action'. The guidelines expected to affect US as well as school library policy of worlds. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the 'standards for the 21st-century learner' and 'standards for the 21st-century learner in action'. The standard for 21st-century learner offer vision for teaching and learning to both guide and beckon our profession as education leaders. They will both shape the library program and serve as a tool for library media specialists to use to shape the learning of students in the school. The standards for the 21st-century learner in action offer how are AASL's new learning standards, the standards for the 21st-century learner, incorporated into the school library.

This paper analyzed the effects of group bibliotherapy in junior high school assigned by Daegu Metropolitan Office or Education as a model school. Seventy seven students haying problems were selected and divided into the two different programs which developed for internalizing problems and externalizing problems respectively. Each bibliotherapy program has been carried out 15 times. The effects of two programs were proved positive and statistically significant. The effect of each program were differ from the other, owing to the purpose and reading materials. The study skewed bibliotherapy are more effective for students having internalizing Problems and female students. Bibliotherapy also affected student's reading attitude. In order to reach self bibliotherapy, developmental bibliotherapy should be connected to the reading guidance.

The study aims at presenting the development and management strategies of programs and services for multicultural families in libraries. The study proposed the principles and directions for the multicultural services which fit into certain types of libraries. The study also stated that principles and directions of these services should be adopted under a national initiative framework. The study examined multicultural services in domestic libraries. The study analyzed them by patterns, and described service programs that were exemplary. The study intended to aid in finding the appropriate management strategies for muticultural services in Korean libraries in the future.
