  • Recently, hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN), which is III-V compound of boron and nitride by strong covalent sp2 bonds has gained great interests as a 2 dimensional insulating material since it has honeycomb structure with like graphene with very small lattice mismatch (1.7%). Unlike graphene that is semi-metallic, h-BN has large band gap up to 6 eV while providing outstanding properties such as high thermal conductivity, mechanical strength, and good chemical stability. Because of these excellent properties, hBN can potentially be used for variety of applications such as dielectric layer, deep UV optoelectronic device, and protective transparent substrate. Low pressure and atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD and APCVD) methods have been investigated to synthesize h-BN by using ammonia borane as a precursor. Ammonia borane decomposes to polyiminoborane (BHNH), hydrogen, and borazine. The produced borazine gas is a key material that is a used for the synthesis of h-BN, therefore controlling the condition of decomposed products from ammonia borane is very important. In this paper, we optimize the decomposition of ammonia borane by investigating temperature, amount of precursor, and other parameters to fabricate high quality monolayer h-BN. Synthesized h-BN is characterized by Raman spectroscopy and its absorbance is measured with UV spectrophotometer. Topological variations of the samples are analyzed by atomic force microscopy. Scanning electron microscopy and Scanning transmission Electron microscopy are used for imaging and analysis of structures and surface morphologies.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical acceptability of the marginal and internal gap of Co-Cr metal copings fabricated with stereolithography (SLA). Methods: Titanium master dies were milled after scanning of the prepared tooth (n=30). For group I, Co-Cr metal copings were made from conventional lost-wax technique(LWT, n=10). For group II, the master dies were scanned and designed with CAD system. Then, metal copings were milled with Co-Cr(SUB, n=10). For group III(ADD, n=10), the scanning and design procedures were same as group II and burn-out resins were fabricated with SLA device. The marginal and internal discrepancies were measured under an optical microscope(100x) on ten reference points and were statistically analyzed with one-way ANOVA(${\alpha}=.05$). Results: The mean total discrepancies were $53.76{\pm}12.42{\mu}m$ in the LWT group and $69.82{\pm}15.48{\mu}m$ in the ADD group. The SUB group showed the largest total mean value $110.33{\pm}13.77{\mu}m$. There was statistically significant difference between the SUB and the other groups(P<0.05). Conclusion : Co-Cr metal copings fabricated with SLA technology showed clinically acceptable value on marginal and internal gap and there was no statistically significant difference between conventional lost-wax technique and SLA.

  • Using the ion-beam irradiated indium zinc oxide (IZO) films which was cured at $100^{\circ}C$, uniform LC and homogeneous alignment of liquid crystal (LC) molecules was achieved. The IZO film was deposited on the glass substrate at the curing temperature of $100^{\circ}C$ and irradiated by the ion-beam which is an LC alignment method. To verify the LC alignment characteristics, polarizing optical microscope and the crystal rotation method were used. Additionally, it was confirmed that the LC cell with the IZO films had an enough thermal budget for high-quality LC applications. Field emission scanning electron microscope was conducted as a surface analysis to evaluate the effect of the ion-beam irradiation on the IZO films. Through this, it was revealed that the ion-beam irradiation induced rough surface with anisotropic characteristics. Finally, electro-optical (EO) performances of the twisted-nematic cells with the IZO films were collected and it was confirmed that this cell had better EO performances than the conventional rubbed polyimide. Furthermore, the polar anchoring energy was measured and a suitable value for stable LC device operation was achieved.

  • PURPOSE. To evaluate and compare the effect of impression type (conventional vs digital) and the number of implants on the time from the impressions to the generation of working casts of mandibular implant-supported fixed completearch frameworks, as well as on patient satisfaction. MATERIALS AND METHODS. 17 participants, 3 or 4 implants, received 2 types of digital impression methods (DI) and conventional (CI). In DI, two techniques were performed: scanning with the scan bodies (SC) and scanning with a device attached to the scan bodies (SD) (BR 10 2019 026265 6). In CI, the making of a solid index (SI) and open-tray impression (OT) were used. The outcomes were used to evaluate the time and the participant satisfaction with conventional and digital impressions. The time was evaluated through the timing of the time obtained in the workflow in the conventional and digital impression. The effect of the number of implants on time was also assessed. Satisfaction was assessed through a questionnaire based on seven. The Wilcoxon test used to identify the statistical difference between the groups in terms of time. The Mann-Whitney test was used to analyze the relationship between the time and the number of implants. Fisher's test was used to assess the patient satisfaction (P<.05). RESULTS. The time with DI was shorter than with CI (DI, $\tilde{x}=02:58$; CI, $\tilde{x}=31:48$) (P<.0001). The arches rehabilitated with 3 implants required shorter digital impression time (3: $\tilde{x}=05:36$; 4: $\tilde{x}=09:16$) (P<.0001). Regarding satisfaction, the DI was more comfortable and pain-free than the CI (P<.005). CONCLUSION. Digital impressions required shorter chair time and had higher patient acceptance than conventional impressions.

  • This is a case report of complete mouth rehabilitation in a patient with generalized attrition and loss of posterior support. After analyzing the condition of the temporomandibular joint, multiple implants were placed to restore collapsed occlusion. Fixture/abutment level intraoral scanning was done instead of using conventional impression materials which entail multiple bite registration for cross-mounting. A 'jaw motion tracking'device, 'digital face-bow transfer', and 'double scan technique' which enables duplicating temporary restoration to definitive restoration were used to fabricate definitive prostheses. By using various digital techniques, complete mouth rehabilitation was done with minimal chair time in a patient with unstable occlusion.

  • We developed a Raman lidar system for remote measurement of carbon dioxide present in atmospheric space. An air-cooled laser with 355-nm wavelength and a 6-inch optical receiver was used to miniaturize the Raman lidar system, and a scanning Raman lidar system was developed using a two-axis scanning device and a photon counter. To verify the performance of the developed Raman lidar system, a gas chamber capable of maintaining a concentration was located at a distance of about 87 m, and the change in Raman signal according to the change in the concentration of carbon dioxide was measured. As a result, it was confirmed that the change in the Raman scattering signal of carbon dioxide that appeared for a change in carbon dioxide concentration from about 0.67 to 40 vol% was linear, and the coefficient of determination (R2) value, which indicates the correlation between the carbon dioxide concentration and Raman scattering signal, showed a high linearity of 0.9999.

  • A method for improving the warpage of the plastic part is a method of removing residual stress of the plastic product. that a non-uniform cooling are appeared in the injection molding process make uniform cooling. this study was developed the Rapid heating and cooling device used peltier module for uniform cooling. Make the Rapid heating and cooling device(RCHD), for Traditional water cooling device(TWCD) method and the Rapid heating and cooling method warpage were compared and were analyzed and the materials used amorphous ABS polymer. various warpage were compared for the process parameters such as packing pressure, packing time, resin temperature, mold temperature, In the amorphous ABS polymer, TWCD method has higher warpage than RCHD method and show the result to be a bit more uniform cooling. The distribution state of the ABS polymer was confirmed Through the Scanning electron microscope. In the TWCD method the distribution state of the polymer be densely distributed, and RCHS method be distributed wider than TWCD method. this is that injection molded parts be seen that cooling was made uniformly, As the temperature of the mold is gradually progress, Particles of the polymer is increased this is that internal stress was reduced.

  • PURPOSE. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the amount of marginal gap with two different substructure materials using identical margin preparations. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Twenty stainless steel models with a chamfer were prepared with a CNC device. Marginal gap measurements of the galvano copings on these stainless steel models and Co-Cr copings obtained by a laser-sintering method were made with a stereomicroscope device before and after the cementation process and surface properties were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A dependent t-test was used to compare the mean of the two groups for normally distributed data, and two-way variance analysis was used for more than two data sets. Pearson's correlation analysis was also performed to assess relationships between variables. RESULTS. According to the results obtained, the marginal gap in the galvano copings before cementation was measured as, on average, $24.47{\pm}5.82{\mu}m$ before and $35.11{\pm}6.52{\mu}m$ after cementation; in the laser-sintered Co-Cr structure, it was, on average, $60.45{\pm}8.87{\mu}m$ before and $69.33{\pm}9.03{\mu}m$ after cementation. A highly significant difference (P<.001) was found in marginal gap measurements of galvano copings and a significant difference (P<.05) was found in marginal gap measurements of the laser-sintered Co-Cr copings. According to the SEM examination, surface properties of laser sintered Co-Cr copings showed rougher structure than galvano copings. The galvano copings showed a very smooth surface. CONCLUSION. Marginal gaps values of both groups before and after cementation were within the clinically acceptable level. The smallest marginal gaps occurred with the use of galvano copings.
