Power supply technique for electrodeless lamps, especially self-oscillation method, is presented in this paper for Endura of Osram. The power supply uses different method for high efficiency at high frequency operation compared to the conventional method using saturable transformer. Exact parameter tuning using simulation is suggested for effective design for real applications.

The glucose transport across the mammalian plasma membranes is carried out by members of two distinct gene families, $Na^+$/glucose to transporter (SGLT) and glucose transporters (GLUTs). The energy requiring SGLT utilizes the sodium gradient to transport glucose and galactose against the concentration gradient. The energy independent transport (Facilitative transport) of glucose down the concentration gradient is mediated by the members of GLUTs. The facilitated transport of glucose is saturable, sterospecific and bidirectional across the membrane. To date, 6 kinds of isoforms of facilitative glucose transporters are found. These proteins are expressed in a tissue and cell specific manner, and shows distinct properties that reflect their specific functional roles.

본 논문은 자기스위치를 이용한 펄스압축용 시뮬레이터의 개발과 결과에 대해 기술하였다. 이를 위해 펄스압축기술을 소개하고 자기스위치가 적용된 펄스압축 시뮬레이터의 전체구성과 각 구성품의 역할을 설명하였다. 또한 제품제작을 통한 구현과 부하시험을 통해 시험결과를 비교하고 설계의 타당성을 검증하였다.

Choline is an important membrane phospholipid constituent and a neurotransmitter precursor that is minimally synthesized in brain. The long-term maintenance of brain choline concentration is dependent on choline transport from plasma, which occurs via saturable transport system at the blood-brain barrier. In the present study, we examined to elucidate the characteristics of transport of cationic amines, especially choline which is one of cationic amines, to BBS using conditionally immortalized rat brain capillary endothelial cell line (TR-BBB) in vitro. This paper proposed an improvement in the Buck ZC-ZVS converter Presented in [1]. This is achieved by change the auxiliary switch position, which reduces its rating power. By employing saturable inductor, the maximum voltage stress across the main switch becomes constant and independent of the load current. Operating principle of Buck proposed topolo described and confirmed by simulation results.

This paper deals with a simulation method of faults in a power transformer. Using the [R],[L] matrix supplied by the auxiliary routine of EMTP called BCTRAN, the turn to ground fault and turn to turn fault are simulated and the inrush condition is simulated using saturable transformer model. Data from simulations can be used to identify the response of the digital protection algorithms for transformer.

The overall design of the optical isolator system is prepared for the 1 TW Nd pulse laser. Two pockels cell optical switches are employed to suppress the amplified spontaneous emission and the backward reflection. The role of two Farady rotators is to protect the laser system from the light amplified after back reflection. One saturable absorber dye and one liquid crystal polarizer/isolator will also serve as optical isolator.

Employing a picosecond laser and fast electronics. we developed a time -correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) system by which ltuninescence lifetimes can be measured in the subnanosecond to microsecond scale. We also studied non-radiative decay dynamics and rotational motion of DODC! laser dye in solution using this system. ystem.
