Major Satisfaction and Professionalism according to DISC Behavior Patterns of Dental Hygiene Students

  • Objective: This study was performed to verify how DISC behavior patterns affect the major satisfaction and professionalism of dental hygiene students and provide basic data for dental hygiene students to have increased major satisfaction and maximize their strength by understanding their DISC behavior pattern. As a result, the following conclusion was obtained. Methods: The data was collected From November 1, 2018 to November 14, 2018, 218 dental hygiene students. Data was collected using self-reported questionnaires. Statistical analysis was performed with IBM SPSS ver. 21.0. Mean (standard deviation) and one-way ANOVA & pearson correlation were performed. Results: The most frequent DISC behavior patterns of dental hygiene students was steadiness types (49.0%) followed by influence types (34.5%), conscientiousness types (9.0%), and dominance types (7.5%). There were no significant difference in professionalism and major satisfaction according to DISC behavior patterns in dental hygiene students. There was a correlation between major satisfaction and professionalism of dental hygiene students. Conclusion: In conclusion, in order for dental hygiene students to establish positive professionalism through increased major satisfaction, it is necessary to make various efforts such as providing consultation and education that corresponds to each student's DISC behavior patterns. These efforts will provide the students career vision and encourage them to improve their academic achievement and find employment that fits their vocational aptitude.

치위생학 전공 대학생들의 자기효능감과 직업가치가 전공만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Self-efficacy and Occupational Value on Major Satisfaction in Dental Hygiene Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 치위생학 전공 대학생들의 자기효능감과 직업가치가 이들의 전공만족도에 미치는 영향을 확인하는 것이었다. 경기도와 충청남도에 소재한 대학에 재학 중인 치위생학 전공 대학생 236을 대상으로 연구대상자의 일반적 특성, 자기효능감, 직업가치, 그리고 전공만족도에 대한 자기기입식 설문조사를 하였고 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 18.0와 Amos. V18을 사용하여 분석하였다. 결과는 다음과 같다. 2학년에 재학 중인 치위생학 전공 대학생의 교육과정 만족과 인식만족은 1학년에 재학 중인 학생들보다 통계적으로 유의하게 높았으며, 자기효능감 수준이 높은 학생들의 전공만족도는 그렇지 않은 학생들보다 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다. 내적 직업가치를 가진 학생들은 외적직업가치나 중립적 가치를 가진 학생들보다 교육과정만족, 인식만족, 그리고 전체만족도가 높았다. 그리고 치위생학 전공 대학생들의 전공만족도에 가장 영향을 미치는 변인은 자기효능감이었다.

간호대학생의 자아존중감, 공감, 우울과 전공만족도 간의 경로분석 (Path Analysis of Self-Esteem, Empathy, Depression, and Major Satisfaction in Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생을 대상으로 자아존중감, 공감과 우울의 주요 변인이 전공만족도에 미치는 영향을 규명하고 가설모형을 구축하여 경로분석을 통해 직·간접영향을 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 본 연구는 2023년 3월 2일 부터 3월 30일까지 C도에 소재한 2개의 대학 200명을 대상자로, 자료분석은 SPSS 26과 AMOS 23으로 하였다. 최종 모델에서 자아존중감(𝛽=.29, p=.001), 공감(𝛽=.49, p=.001), 우울(𝛽=-.21, p=.032)이 전공만족도에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤으며 자아존중감(𝛽=.12, p=.031)은 우울을 매개하여 전공만족도에 간접효과를 나타났다. 전공만족도에 대한 공감, 자아존중감, 우울의 설명력은 36%로 확인되었다. 자아존중감과 공감을 높이는 것은 직접적으로 전공만족도를 높일 뿐만 아니라 간접적으로 우울을 낮춰 자아존중감을 높이면 전공만족도를 높일 수 있을 것이다. 따라서, 간호대학생의 전공만족도를 높이는 간호교육프로그램 개발 시 자아존중감, 공감을 높이고 우울은 낮출 수 있는 인지행동전략을 개발해야 할 것이다.

치기공과 학생들의 전공선택 동기, 직업 가치관, 전공 만족도, 전공몰입에 미치는 영향: 대구 일부지역 학생들을 대상으로 (The effects of the motive to choose major, career values, and satisfaction with major on immersion in major by the dental technology students: focus on the students at Daegu districts)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate how one's motive to choose a major of study, career values, and satisfaction with the major affect immersion within the major. Methods: A self-administered questionnaire on choice of major and career values was completed by 224 students from March 2nd to March 15th of 2022. The collected data were analyzed using several metrics and tests with IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0 software: frequency and percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and linear regression. Results: The average scores of the motive to choose a major, career values, satisfaction with the major, and immersion in the major were 3.15, 3.91, 3.56, and 3.45, respectively. There were significant correlations between all four variables (p<0.05). Career values and satisfaction with the major positively influenced a student's immersion in that major; the explanatory power of the model was 77% (p<0.01). Conclusion: The department should offer education on career values to further increase the immersion of dental technician students within their chosen major.

간호학생의 전문직 자아개념과 전공만족과의 관계에서 자아존중감과 자기효능감의 조절효과 (Moderating Effects of Self-Esteem and Self-Efficacy in the Relationship between Professional Self-Concept and Satisfaction in their Major among Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate moderating effects of self-esteem and self-efficacy in relationship between professional self-concept and satisfaction in their major among nursing students. Methods: Data was collected from 223 nursing students by means of a questionnaire. Data was analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient and hierarchical multiple regression using the SPSS 12.0 program. Results: There was a significantly positive relationship between professional self-concept, self-esteem, self-efficacy, and satisfaction in their major. Self-esteem and self-efficacy showed moderating effects in professional self-concept and satisfaction in their major. Conclusion: This finding suggests the importance of moderating effects of self-esteem and self-efficacy to increase nursing student's professional self-concept and satisfaction in their major. Therefore, strategies should be developed in order to promote self-esteem, self-efficacy, and professional socialization for satisfaction in the nursing major.

간호대학생의 전공 만족도가 전공몰입에 미치는 영향과 전공선택 동기의 매개역할 (The Influence of Major Satisfaction of Nursing Students on Major Commitment and the Mediating Role of Motivation for Major Selection)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 간호대학생의 전공 만족도, 전공선택 동기, 전공몰입을 파악하고, 전공몰입의 영향요인 그리고 전공선택 동기의 매개역할을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사 연구이다. 자료 수집은 대구·경북지역에 소재한 간호대학에 재학 중인 228명이었으며, 자료 수집은 2020년 11월 7일부터 11월 16일까지였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/WIN 22.0 프로그램으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 전공 만족도, 전공선택 동기, 전공몰입은 높은 것으로 나타났다. 전공몰입 영향요인으로는 전공만족도와 전공선택 동기가 예측되었다. 전공 만족도와 전공몰입의 간에 전공선택 동기는 부분매개역할을 하였고, 구체적인 분석에서는 개인적 동기가 부분매개역할을 하였다. 이러한 결과는 간호대학생의 전공몰입도를 향상시키는 기초정보를 제공하게 되며, 간호학 선택과정의 중요성을 시사하였다.

경기지역 일부 치위생과 학생의 대인관계능력, 사회적 지지와 임상실습만족도와의 관계 (Relations between Interpersonal Ability, Social Support, and Clinical Practice Satisfaction of Some Dental Hygiene Students in Gyeonggi province)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to provide the high-quality clinical practice environment education to students by researching the social support, major satisfaction, and interpersonal ability of dental hygiene students, analyzing factors having influence on the clinical practice satisfaction, and then increasing the satisfaction with clinical practice. Methods: 312 students who have completed clinical practice among dental hygiene major of three colleges in Gyeonggi province were collected by convenience sampling from April 18th to April 27th 2016. Using SPSS 20.0, descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted. Results: The clinical practice satisfaction was correlated with interpersonal ability(r=0.383, p<.001), social support(r=0.239, p<0.01), subjective health condition(r=0.226, p<0.01), and major satisfaction(r=0.287, p<0.01). When interpersonal ability and social support were high, subjective health condition was good, and major satisfaction was high, the clinical practice satisfaction was also high. Conclusions: Based on the results, it would be necessary to develop operational reinforcing social support and interpersonal ability of dental hygiene students, and also to make efforts to increase the clinical practice satisfaction of dental hygiene students by establishing measures to increase their major satisfaction.

사이버대학생의 학습참여동기와 삶에 대한 만족도가 전공만족도에 미치는 영향 (The effect of educational participatory motivation and life satisfaction on major satisfaction among Cyber University students)

  • 본 연구는 서울소재 사이버대학교에 재학 중인 성인학습자들을 대상으로 학습참여동기 유형과 삶에 대한 만족도가 전공만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 파악하여 사이버대 재학생의 학과 만족도를 높이기 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행되었다. 연구 대상자는 서울 소재 한 사이버대학에 재학 중인 20세 이상 성인학습자로 온라인 설문에 응답한 총 937명의 자료를 수집 분석하였다. 주요한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사이버대 재학생의 학습참여동기 유형은 목적지향동기, 학습지향동기, 활동지향동기 순으로 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 학습참여동기, 삶에 대한 만족도, 전공만족도에서 인구통계학적 특성에 따른 차이가 있는지를 검증해본 결과 학년을 제외한 성별, 연령, 직업유무, 결혼유무, 전공에 따른 집단 간 차이가 확인되었다. 셋째, 회귀분석 결과 삶에 대한 만족도, 목적지향동기, 학습지향동기, 활동지향동기 순서로 전공만족도에 영향을 미치고 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 전공만족도를 높이기 위해서 성인학습자의 학습참여동기에 대한 이해가 요구되며, 성인학습자가 경험하고 있는 삶의 만족도를 향상시키기 위한 연구 및 지원 방안이 필요함을 시사한다.

임상실습을 경험한 치기공(학)과 학생들의 임상실습 만족도, 전공 만족도가 취업 의향에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Study on the effect of clinical practice satisfaction and major satisfaction on employment intention of students in the department of dental technology who experienced clinical practice)

  • Purpose: This study examines the clinical practice satisfaction and major satisfaction of dental technology students who have experienced clinical practice to identify whether there is an effect on employment intention of satisfaction level as a basis for increasing the employment rate of dental technicians. Methods: A survey was distributed among 150 dental technology students, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and frequency and correlation analyses. Finally, multiple regression analysis was used to verify the research hypotheses. All statistical analyses were carried out using IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 27.0 (IBM). Results: The students exhibited high levels of satisfaction with their clinical practice (4.20) and dental technology major (4.07). Further analysis showed a positive correlation between intention to work in dental laboratories and satisfaction with a dental technology major (practice; r=0.437, p<0.05); clinical practice organization (r=0.682, p<0.05); and satisfaction with the clinical practice institution (r=0.650, p<0.05). Statistically significant positive associations (p<0.05) were also observed between clinical practice form and environment, satisfaction with dental technology major, and school region (i.e., metropolitan area). Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that high levels of satisfaction with clinical practice and dental technology major can contribute to increased employment rates among dental technicians by promoting their intention to work in the related industry.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine self-efficacy, satisfaction in major, nurse's image of nursing students, and mediating effect of satisfaction in major on the relationship between self-efficacy and nurse's image. Methods: Data were collected from 4th to the 7th of October in 2011, from 277 nursing students in Gyeongnam area using questionnaire, t-test, ANOVA, and correlation efficient were used for data analysis. Results: There were statistically positive relationships between self-efficacy, satisfaction in major, and nurse's image of nursing students. Satisfaction in major was found to completely mediate the relationship between self-efficacy and nurse's image. Conclusion: Self-efficacy exerted an influence on nurse's image through the mediating effect of satisfaction in major.
