  • Engineer and quality statistician use different terms and techniques but they have same meaning and concept. The terms accuracy and precision are frequently used by engineer and scientist in the department of R&D and production technology. This paper makes a contribution to the interpretation of statistical quality techniques by the use of accuracy and precision. Engineer and scientist who have six sigma black belt and statistical background can use efficiently and effectively accuracy and precision in a manner consistent with statistical usage according to this study.

휠체어 탑승 버스의 승객안전도 분석 (Occupant Safety Analysis for Wheelchair Bus Development)

  • The express/intercity bus models have been developing for wheelchair users to provide the preferable long-distance travels by the Korean government research. In the previous studies, evaluation method was set up for the wheelchair users' safety and the study for wheelchair occupants' safety was performed under various crash loadings mimic to real accidents, frontal crash, side impact and rollover, etc. This study was focused on the evaluation of occupant behaviors and injuries (head and chest) during vehicle impact loading cases in order to ensure the safety of wheelchair passengers in the bus. The occupant response and belt loading data during the sled FE simulation were compared with those of the sled test. The simulation results showed overall safety tolerances of wheelchair occupants under the severe frontal deceleration, side impact loading based on the FMVSS 214 configuration and bus rollover loading.

Structural Design and Construction for Tall Damped Building with Irregularly-Shaped Plan and Elevation

  • This paper introduces three distinctive means for the use of a 189-meter high damped structure ensuring safety against earthquake: 1. Realization of L-shaped elevational structural planning: The bottom and top of the tower have belt trusses and hat trusses respectively to restrain the bending deformation. Furthermore, large-capacity oil dampers (damping force 6,000 kN) are installed in the middle part of the tower to restrain the higher-mode deformation. 2. Realization of L-shaped planar structural planning: We devised a means of matching the centers of gravity and rigidity by adjusting planar rigidity. Moreover, viscous damping devices are located at the edges of the L-shaped plan, where torsional deformation tends to be amplified. We call this the "Damping Tail" system. 3. Composite foundation to equalize deformations under different loading conditions: We studied the vertical and horizontal deformations using sway-rocking and 3D FEM models including the ground, and applied multi-stage diameter-enlarged piles to the tower and a mat foundation to the podium to keep the foundations from torsional deformations and ensure structural safety.

  • A finite element analysis has been performed to investigate the effect of die clearance on shear planes in the fine blanking of a part of automobile safety belt. For the analysis S45$^{\circ}C$ is selected as an material which is used in manufacturing the part of automobile safety belt and Cockcroft-Latham fracture criterion is applied, Effect of die clearance on die-roll width die-roll depth burnish zone and fracture zone has been concentrately investigated in the finite element analysis. From the analytical results it has been found that die-roll width and depth of the shear plane increase with increasing die clearance. And the burnish zone has been concentrately investigated in the finite element analysis. From the analytical results it has been found that die-roll width and depth of the shear plane increase with increasing die clearance. and the burnish zone decreases with increasing die clearance but the variation of fracture zone is opposite to that of burnish zone because the increase in die clearance requires less fracture energy Theoretical predictions are compared with experimental results, There is a good agreement between theory and experiment

  • port is the intersection of highway, railway, waterway and other transportation modes, and is the key to realizing integrated transportation. There are many excellent ports around the Tumen River Region. With the obvious location advantages, Tumen River Region is an important part of Tumen River regional cooperation and development, and is the key to realizing the "borrow port to sea", which is raised in "China Tumen River regional cooperation and development planning outline -- regard Changjitu area as the development and opening leading area" (referred to as "planning outline"). This paper focus on the main ports in the Tumen River region, taking them as the research object. Furthermore, the paper makes the strategic plan for the port cluster in the Tumen River region as well as puts a collaboration scheme is proposed by analyzing the research reviews of the Tumen River region and the present situations of the main ports.

고소작업 사고 시나리오 기반 웨어러블 응용 HSE 시스템 안전관리 방안 (HSE System Safety Management Using Wearable Based on Accident Scenario of High Place Work)

  • 본 논문에서는 조선해양 작업장에서 발생하는 중대재해를 줄이고 체계적인 안전관리를 위하여 ETA(event tree analysis)기반 시나리오 도출 및 ICT 기술접목을 통한 안전관리 구축방안을 제안한다. 안전보건공단과 (구)국민안전처의 통계결과 조선해양 관련 중대재해 중 가장 많이 발생하는 사고유형은 떨어짐이고, 주요사고원인은 안전대 미착용 및 안전대 고리 미체결이다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 ETA기반의 시나리오를 작성하여 안전사항에 따른 결과를 도출하고 이 결과를 바탕으로 사고예방을 위한 ICT 기술접목으로 해결방안을 제시한다. ETA 기반 시나리오 도출 및 ICT 기술접목을 통해 제안한 해결방안으로는 안전대 및 안전모 착용여부 감지시스템, 안전대 고리 체결여부 감지시스템, 안전거리 측정을 위한 걸이설비 측정시스템이다. 안전사항별 시스템을 통해 작업자의 떨어짐 위험을 줄여 사망확률을 낮출 수 있다. 제안한 방안을 통해 사고를 예방함으로써 조선해양 분야의 중대재해를 줄이고 체계적인 안전관리를 도모한다.

  • 국내 최고 높이를 자랑하는 초고층 건물인 타워팰리스 III에 적용된 슈퍼블럭 유닛 커튼월 시공 공법에 대해서 소개한다. 타워팰리스 III는 공기 단축을 위하여, 벨트월 구간의 외주 커튼월을 별도로 후시공하는 Up-Up 공법을 적용하였다. 벨트월 구간의 커튼월을 후시공하는 과정에서 3개층 분량에 해당되는 대형의 커튼월 블럭을 지상에서 선조립한 후에, 타워크레인을 사용하여 한 번에 시공하는 슈퍼블럭 유닛 커튼월 공법을 개발하고 적용하였다. 이 공법의 실현을 위하여 전용의 양중틀을 개발하여 활용하였고, 슈퍼블럭 유닛 커튼월의 시공을 위하여 비워둔 벨트월 상부층의 커튼월을 시공하기 위한 역시공 장비를 개발 적용하였다. 이러한 신공법의 적용을 통하여, 커튼월 시공용 가설 비계의 설치를 생략하였으며, 공기단축과 경비 절감과 같은 경제적 효과 외에도, 안전 확보와 생산성 향상 등의 효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

안전벨트와 아이소픽스의 체결 상태를 감지하여 알려주는 스마트 카시트 시스템 (A Smart Car Seat System Detecting and Displaying the Fastening States of the Seat Belt and ISOFIX)

  • Existing child car seats do not have a monitoring means for the driver or guardian to effectively recognize the status of whether the seat belt of car seat is fastened and whether the ISOFIX of the car seat is fastened to the inside device of the vehicle. In this paper, we propose a smart car seat system which can monitor in real time, whether the seat belt of a child seated in the car seat is fastened and whether the ISOFIX of the car seat is fastened. The proposed system has been developed with a prototype, in which a Hall sensor, magnet, Bluetooth, and display device are used to detect whether these are fastened and to display the detection results. The prototype system provides the detection results as texts and alarm signal to the display for driver or guardian' smartphone in the car in motion. With functional tests of the prototype system, it was confirmed that the detection functions are properly operated, and the detection results were transmitted to the display device and smartphone via Bluetooth within 0.5 seconds. It is expected that the development system can effectively prevent safety accidents of child car seats.

  • In this paper, a method of modeling seat belts on crew seat during dynamic seat testing was studied. The body segments of the occupant were modeled with joints. The joints consisted with various stiffnesses, dampings, and frictions. Three types of seat belt restraint systems were investigated. The analysis for on the injury assessment of helicopter's crew under drop impact was conducted. The effectiveness of the seat belt system for crashworthiness and safety was evaluated. As the results of impact analysis, head, neck and spine of the crew can be easily damaged in the vertical direction more than the longitudinal direction. Based on the verified model, behavior of human body was studied with three-point restraint systems. The displacement and injury level of the 12-point restraint system was the smallest.

  • Construction companies with the highest proportion in death crash has been devoting much effort to prevent the crash accidents. In general, a crash-proof worker has been wearing a seatbelt. However, the G construction company had happened in industrial settings when workers fail to abide by the rules. The Carabiner, one of the composing of Safety Belt, must endure the Allowable Load. In this study, the Industrial accidents and cause of the crash analysis in G Construction company is performed by empirical research. And we have been studied the empirical research to setting up of the allowable limit for Carabiner.
