교통문화지수의 변화 패턴에 근거한 사고 요인 분석 (Analysis of Accident Factors based on Changing Patterns of Traffic Culture Index)

  • This paper aims to analyze the accident based on changing patterns of traffic culture index. For this purpose, this paper particularly focuses on classifying the traffic culture patterns and developing the traffic accidents using panel count data model. The main results are as follows. First, the traffic culture patterns are divided into 'increasing', 'decreasing' and 'other' patterns. The null hypotheses that the number of accident are the same over patterns are rejected. Second, 4 fixed effect negative binomial models which are all statistically significant are developed. Third, the regions with 'increasing' pattern are analyzed to be mostly the counties, and to demand the traffic law enforcement. Fourth, the regions with 'decreasing' pattern are evaluated to be mainly the districts and to require such the traffic culture as turn signal usage. Finally, the regions with 'other' pattern are analyzed to be mostly the cities and to ask for enhancing the level of traffic culture.

Website를 이용한 환자안전문화 증진 프로그램의 개발 (Development of Website-based Patient Safety Culture Promotion Program)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a website-based patient safety culture promotion program that could be implemented by nurses in real work scenarios. Methods: This study was a methodological study. A patient safety culture promotion program, called 'Safe Culture, Save Patients' was developed, based on structuration theory and performance engineering approaches. Results: This program was delivered in the form of a website containing contents about changes in the work environment, information about accidents and the improvement process details, as well as a program for motivation. The program was tested about the validity on contents and usability - a panel of 14 experts confirmed its validity using the contents validity index (CVI), with a resulting S-CVI of .980. Usability was evaluated by 11 nurses, which allowed finalize the program. Conclusion: The 'Safe Culture, Save Patients' program was a valid program that could be applied in clinical practice immediately. The results of this study warrant further studies to evaluate the effects of this patient safety culture promotion program.

안전관리 실효성 증대를 위한 안전실천지수 활용 방안 연구 (A Study on the Utilization of Safety Practice Index to Increase the Effectiveness of Safety Management)

  • Domestic industrial accidents continue to increase, with 2,142 deaths in 2018, up by 185 (9.5%) from 1,957 deaths in 2017. Industrial accidents that cause loss of human lives pose a serious risk to businesses because of the strengthening of safety regulations and the changing public perception of social responsibility. Accordingly, to prevent industrial accidents, companies regularly conduct onsite safety activities and conduct education and training to raise awareness among employees. However, many such corporate activities are not conducted voluntarily and practically by employees but mostly by formal implementation. To discontinue this customary and passive behavior of employees and establish a mature safety culture, strengthening the execution power of safety management at the site is of paramount importance, and to this end, we aim to utilize the safety practice index (SPI). In this study, the SPI calculated on the basis of the results of the 2018 and 2019 risk management and safety activities of a site was compared with the reported safety accidents. The results confirmed that the SPI index can be used as a valid indicator for safety activities for accident prevention, such as strengthening leadership and safety policies to grade and manage safety management levels for a certain period of time or by a department or to convert weaknesses into strengths.

A Structure Model of Clinical Nurses' Silence on Patient Safety

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to establish a hypothetical model on silence regarding patient safety and to verify the model's goodness of fit and hypotheses. Methods: The participants in this study were 330 registered nurses working in tertiary hospitals with over 300 beds. Data were collected between July 1, and August 30, 2017, from nurses who agreed to participate. A covariance structure analysis was performed. Results: The model of fit index was $x^2=59.54$, normed $x^2=2.29$, GFI=.97, AGFI=.93, SRMR=.05, NFI=.99, CFI=.95 and RMSEA=.05. The organizational culture had an influence on patient safety motivation (${\beta}=.26$, p=.003) and attitude (${\beta}=.43$, p<.001). RN-MD collaboration had an influence on patient safety motivation (${\beta}=.33$, p<.001), attitude (${\beta}=.35$, p<.001), and patient safety silence (${\beta}=-.17$, p=.026). Supervisory trust had an influence on patient safety motivation (${\beta}=.26$, p<.001), attitude (${\beta}=.12$, p=.036), and patient safety silence (${\beta}=-.23$, p=.002). Patient safety motivation had an influence on patient safety silence (${\beta}=-.33$, p=.006). The model of patient safety silence explained 36.0% of the variances. Conclusion: This study is meaningful in that it provides basic data for nursing education and program development for rejecting patient safety silence.

보조공학전공 근로자들의 직무스트레스 요인과 사회심리적 스트레스에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Job Stress and Psychosocial Wellbeing Index of Industrial Workers with Assistive Technology Major)

  • In the perspective of industrial health management, it is important for the employee to decrease their job stress, to improve their productivity and quality of labor. In this study, the job stress, and it's influence on PWI(Psychosocial Wellbeing Index) were investigated by the questionnaire survey of 138 industrial workers who had studied assistive technology in college. The contents of questionnaire consist of the demographic characteristics, job-related characteristics, job stress and psycho-social stress. We evaluated job stress by KOSS-SF(Korean Occupational Stress Scale-Sort Form) and psychosocial stress by PWI-SF(Psychosocial Well-being Index-Short Form). To analyze the results, we evaluated the exposure level of KOSS and PWI by demographic characteristics and job-related characteristics using significance tests. Also, we estimated the relationship among demographic characteristics, job-related characteristics, job stress and psychosocial stress, using correlation analysis. As a results, all workers were found to be in a group under the high risky stress. It showed that the scale index of female's job non-autonomy and pwi were much larger than those of male's. Therefore, to guarantee job autonomy of female workers should be more emphasized, to improve their working environment. Job type had significant relationships with many job stress category; physical environment, job demand, job instability and organization culture. Regarding pwi, the scale index of the workers who is in charge of the civil service such as contacting the disabled and the aged in person, were much larger than that of the other workers. Accordingly, the job stress management program including physical environment, job demand, job instability and organization culture, should be suggested, to decrease the stress of the workers in charge of the disabled and the elders service. The strongest predictors of pwi was organization system through maximum positive relations between organization system and pwi. Therefore, it indicates that improvement of organization system such as a fair merit rating, a manpower supply, demand plan and department cooperation is urgently needed to reduce pwi.

운전 상황에서의 개인특성과 생활스트레스가 교통안전에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Driving Specific Characteristics and Life Stress on Traffic Fafety)

  • 본 연구는 기존 연구들이 일반 성격특성과 위험운전행동의 관계를 살펴본 것과 달리, 운전상황에서 특정적으로 나타나는 개인의 특성(운전분노, A형 운전행동)이 교통안전에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보았다. 또한 생활스트레스가 운전자의 위험운전행동을 예측하는 중요한 변수임을 고려하여 일반성격(자극추구성향, A형 성격유형, 법규위반성향)과 생활스트레스, 교통안전의 관계를 검증하였다. 이를 위해, 전국의 사업용 운전자 1158명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 사고관련 자료(교통안전도지수)를 수집하였다. 연구결과, 운전분노와 A형 운전행동 등 운전 상황에서의 개인특성은 일반성격을 통제하고도 유의하게 사고위험(교통안전도지수)을 예측하였으며, 생활스트레스는 일반 성격특성과 교통안전도지수 사이를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 운전자의 위험운전행동을 예측할 때, 일반성격 뿐만 아니라 운전 상황에서의 특성 및 생활스트레스 수준을 함께 고려해야 함을 시사한다. 이 밖에 연구의 의의와 제한점, 추후연구 방향 등을 논의하였다.

Development and Validation of a Safety Climate Scale for Manufacturing Industry

  • Background: This paper describes the development of a scale for measuring safety climate. Methods: This study was conducted in six manufacturing companies in Iran. The scale developed through conducting a literature review about the safety climate and constructing a question pool. The number of items was reduced to 71 after performing a screening process. Results: The result of content validity analysis showed that 59 items had excellent item content validity index (${\geq}0.78$) and content validity ratio (> 0.38). The exploratory factor analysis resulted in eight safety climate dimensions. The reliability value for the final 45-item scale was 0.96. The result of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the safety climate model is satisfactory. Conclusion: This study produced a valid and reliable scale for measuring safety climate in manufacturing companies.

사고 통계기반 선박사고 예방지수 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of a Preventive Index Based on the Statistical Data of Ship Accidents)

  • 선박, 항해기술 발달과 더불어 안전에 대한 교육 및 법제 강화에도 불구하고 해양사고는 지속적으로 발생하여 큰 피해를 주고 있다. 사고가 발생하면 생명, 재산 그리고 환경적 재해가 수반하게 되므로 예방활동이 강조되고 그를 위한 정책적, 교육적, 법제적 노력에도 예방성과는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 예방활동의 동기와 성과를 촉진하고 체계적인 안전관리를 위한 시각적이고 정량적인 지수를 개발하여 선순환적인 예방문화를 구축하고자 선박사고 예방지수(PISA)와 예방수준(PLSA)을 개념화하고 정량화하였다. 선박사고 예방지수를 설계하기 위하여 지난 5년(2009~2013)간 국내에서 발생한 사고통계 자료를 4개 영역, 즉 교육, 기술, 단속, 정보영역으로 구조화하고 예방요소와 인자를 추출함으로써 지수를 정의하였다. 정의된 지수 산정에 필요한 평가모듈을 설계하였으며, 설계된 모듈을 이용하여 화물선, 여객선, 유조선, 예선, 어선을 대상으로 지수를 측정하였다. 측정된 선박사고 예방지수 결과를 통계적, 사례적으로 위험성(Risk)과의 상관관계를 분석하여 유용성을 확인하였다. 제안된 선박사고 예방지수를 인증제도 등에 활용함으로써 선박별 맞춤형 성과기반 예방활동은 물론 예방중심의 안전문화 촉진과 선박사고 저감효과가 기대된다.

구조방정식을 이용한 교통문화지수와 교통사고 발생의 영향관계 규명에 관한 연구 (A Study on Clarifying Relationship between the Traffic Culture Index and Traffic Accidents Using Structural Equation Model)

  • 도로교통사고 발생원인의 93%는 운전자에 의해 발생하며, 우리나라의 교통사고 사망자수는 OECD회원국 중 1위를 차지하여 국가경제력 위상에 걸맞지 않는 수준에 머물러 있다. 이에 국가에서는 매년 전국 시 군 구를 대상으로 교통문화지수를 측정하여 교통안전정책 개선과 안전의식 함양을 도모하고 있으나 교통문화지수와 실제 교통사고와의 영향관계는 가정에 그치고 있으며 검증은 수행되지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구는 교통문화지수가 실제로 교통문화수준을 대변하여 교통사고와의 영향관계가 있는지에 대한 검증을 수행하였고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 교통문화지수 실태조사의 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2010년부터 2012년까지의 교통문화지수 실태조사 보고서의 자료를 바탕으로 구조방정식을 통해 교통사고건수와 교통사고 사망자수의 영향관계를 분석하였다. 구조방정식을 통한 영향관계 분석은 시 군 구별 교통문화지수와 교통 사고건수 및 사망자수의 관계분석(연구1)과 교통문화지수 증감과 교통사고건수 및 사망자수의 증감의 영향관계 분석(연구2)로 나누어 수행하였다. 그 결과, 연구1의 경우 모형의 적합도가 낮게 나타났으나 연구2의 경우 교통문화지수가 증가하면 사고건수 및 사망자수가 감소하는 것으로 나타나 교통문화지수의 효과가 검증되었다.
