  • In piping design of nuclear power plant facilities, the load stress according to self-weight is important for design values in test run(shutdown and starting). But sometimes it needs more studies, such as seismic analysis of an earthquake of power plant area and fatigue life and stress of thermal expansion and anchor displacement in operating run. In this paper, seismic evaluations were performed to nuclear piping system of Shin-Kori NO. 3&4 being built in Pusan lately. Results of seismic analysis are evaluated on basis of KEPIC MN code. The structural integrity on RCB piping system was proved.

  • Purpose: The success rate of free flap operation has shown a recent increase. Especially for breast reconstructive patients, aesthetic results are considered a necessity. However, for patients who underwent reconstruction in parts of the body other than breast, for example, head and neck, lower and upper extremities, aesthetic considerations are underscored. Nowadays, however, aesthetic standpoint toward these patients is changing. Materials and Methods: We conducted a retrospective review of 8 patients who underwent secondary procedures after free flap surgery from March of 2011 to April of 2014. Results: Secondary refinement was a safe and less time-consuming technique for maximizing the function and aesthetic appearance for the patient. Conclusion: Appearance has become increasingly important with regard to function and quality of life. Therefore, for free flap reconstructive patients, secondary refinements may be considered in order to change the shape and contour. The secondary refinements are critical to the final result and must be a planned part of the entire reconstructive sequence.

  • Since the generation and transmission of telecommand in satellite monitoring and control system depend on the decisions of operators, it is possible that operators with different levels of knowledge may generate different telecommands in the same situation. Because of this reason, automation technology of satellite operation is being researched and developed to minimize the decision error due to the operator's lack of experience. This paper suggests a method of automated satellite control, which generates telecommands automatically using the knowledge of satellite subsystem engineers or specialists for the ground system. This method provides safe satellite operation and expansion of satellite life time by automatic generation of the telecommands, so that the operator's interrupt is minimized which provides the efficient satellite control.

  • A human being has been using more and more materials for promotion of its life level year by year. The materials are originated from the Nature. We must think that a human being temporarily borrows them from the Nature. So we should return them in the same form as the origin into the Nature. However, it is impossible because it has been irreversibly changed into different phase. This attributes destruction of the Nature, i.e., pollution of the Nature. For environmental prevention of the Nature from pollution, we should try the entire recycling of materials by returning the used materials in the safe from even if it has a different phase in comparison with the original state. This article proposes the entire recycling of materials lot keeping the EARTH.

  • In case of rolling stock, SEMS is generally applied in the advanced countries, but is start stage in our country. SEMS is defined the system engineering management system in order to achieve the optimized train performance among the several client requirements aspect of technical engineering management during the design life cycle. And the fire engineering activities in hong kong EMU project are introduced aspect of SEMS in this paper. The fire engineering at rolling stock in view of SEMS controls to apply the satisfied interior material by the fire safety standards (regulation of the commute urban subway safety guideline by the MOCT, BS 6853, NFPA 130, NF F 16-101) and to minimize the fire load in order that passengers egress safe from the fired rolling stock. The rolling stock in the advanced countries is designed to stand for 15-20 minutes in considering the rolling stock to be fired in tunnel. For passenger fire safety, the passenger evacuation provision and progress is set up.

  • Post these safety tips in any swimming area for all swimmers to read. 1. Always swim with companions. Swim only in area well supervised by lifeguards. 2. Never drink alcohol or use drugs when you're swimming or boating. 3. Always check the water depth. Walk in from shore or ease in from the dock or the edge of the pool. 4. Know the limits of your own swimming abilities. If you're a good swimmer, don't tempt nonswimmers or beginner swimmers to try to keep up with you. 5. Keep any eye on younger swimmers at all times. 6. Learn the proper way to dive in the water safely. Follow guidelines for safe diving. 7. Follow the lifeguards instructions and respect their judgment. Never fake an Emergency. Obey all swimming rules.

  • Biologics present a challenge to both the manufacturer and end user. They must usually be formulated as parenterals. However, they are often unstable in liquid form, due to their complex structure and composition. In that case, they must be manufactured using highly specialized processes, such as lyophilization (freeze-drying). Lyophilization nearly eliminates stability issues. Reducing a compound's sensitivity to temperature prolongs its shelf life. However, reconstitution can be cumbersome, involving multiple steps that increase the potential for error. Dual-chamber technology provides an effective alternative, combining a lyophilized drug and diluent in a closed system and enabling reconstitution in a few simple steps.

  • A reversible axial flow fan called jet fan has been widely used for longitudinal ventilation in road tunnels to secure a safe and comfortable environment cost-effectively. As shifting the flow direction is usually made by only switching the rotational direction of an electric motor due to heavy duty, rotor blades having identical aerodynamic performance for bidirectional flow should be necessary. However, such aerodynamically desirable blades haven't been developed sufficiently, since most of the related studies have been done from the viewpoint of unidirectional flow. In the present paper, we demonstrate a method to profile the blade section suitable for bidirectional flow, which is validated by studying the aerodynamic performances of rotor blades of a two-stage jet fan experimentally and numerically.

  • This study addressed the effects of environmental attitude improved using forest environmental interpretation program. While previous research has focused developing interpretation program itself, this study analyzed the effects that environmental interpretation has improved toward pro-environmental attitude. This program was designed self-guiding interpretive techniques at Mt. Palgongsan Provincial Park. Environmental attitude was measured using 12 statements which was based on fifth-graders attitude scale in U.S.A. Data were collected from 84 elementary school participants in this program. Results showed that attitude scores of participants increased toward pro-environmental attitude. Especially, three statements (interest, safe and benefits of forest) are statistically significant differences between pre- and post survey. Results can be used by outdoor educators to evaluate and plan their environmental interpretation programs and methods.
