In this study we reported the Smoke Density values of interior materials of railroad passenger car and investigated the specific smoke density(Ds) by NBS smoke chamber to the variance of some test conditions. First we compared the result of Ds from ISO 5659-2 with that from ASTM E 662 for same material. Secondary studied the Ds value to the variance of specimen shape and thickness and to the variance of other conditions.

The single fiber pull-out technique has been commonly used to characterize the mechanical behavior of fiber/matrix interface in fiber reinforced composite materials. In this study, an improved analysis considering the effect of thermal residual stresses in both radial and axial directions is developed for the single fiber pull-out test. It is found to have the pronounced effects on the stress transfer properties across the interface and the interfacial debonding behavior.

The aim of this paper was to analyze the lexical effects on spoken word recognition of Korean monosyllabic word. The lexical factors chosen in this paper was frequency, density and lexical familiarity of words. Result of the analysis was as follows; frequency was the significant factor to predict spoken word recognition score of monosyllabic word. The other factors were not significant. This result suggest that word frequency should be considered in speech perception test.

In this paper, we investigate the relation between Bayes factor and likelihood ratio test (LRT) approaches and apply the neighborhood information of Bayes factor to building an alternate hypothesis model of the LRT system. To consider the neighborhood approaches, we contemplate a distance measure between models and algorithms to be applied. We also evaluate several methods to improve performance of utterance verification using neighborhood information. Among these methods, the system which adopts anti-models built by collecting mixtures of neighborhood models obtains maximum error rate reduction of 17% compared to the baseline, linear and weighted combination of neighborhood models.

We intended to apprehend the ignitability of the wood, using the ISO test for the ignitability accessment. So we first conducted the ISO test on eight kings of the wood as sample, which came from domestic for-est, and discovered the tendency of the ignitability for the wood in the condition of external factors(its density and the rate of water content, humidity). Finally it was found that the ignition time of the wood was effected by its density and, the rate of water content, the humidity in the atmosphere.

Korea Railroad Research Institute(KRRI) has developed the rubber-tired AGT system from 1999 to 2004. The rubber-tired AGT vehicle is now on test for its performance and function in the Gyeong-San test line. Tn this paper, we provide the reliability management plan to assure required the RAMS(reliability, availability, maintainability & safety) of the AGT vehicle system.

In winter season the driving test of the KTX showed the excessive vibration in the tail cars. In this paper, the measured KTX vibration data during test run is analyzed in time and frequency domain. And the numerical simulations using ANSYS and ADAMS are done on the basis of the experimental observations. The results show that 0.6Hz of the tail car motion is due to the natural mode of car combination of the KTX.
