GBN/SSN 억제를 위한 이종 셀 EBG 구조를 갖는 전원면 (A Power Plane Using the Hybrid-Cell EBG Structure for the Suppression of GBN/SSN)

  • 본 논문에서는 넓은 영역에서 GBN/SSN 억제 특성을 보이는 이종 셀 EBG 구조를 이용한 새로운 전원면 구조를 제안하였다. 제안된 구조는 -30 dB 이하의 삽입 손실로 정의되는 저지 대역이 GBN의 에너지가 집중적으로 분포하는 수 백 MHz에서 시작하며 약 7.9 GHz의 넓은 대역폭을 갖는다. 본 구조의 특징은 인덕턴스를 강화하는 나선형 연결 선로와 분산적 LC 회로의 주기를 줄이는 이종 셀을 추가한 것이다. 그 결과 -30 dB 저지 대역의 저주파에서의 차단 주파수가 낮아짐은 물론 대역폭이 넓어진 특성을 보였다. 또한, 전원면과 접지면 사이의 구조적 공진 모드가 현격히 억제되었으며 평행판 도파관에 비해 낮은 EMI 특성을 보였다.

A Novel Quadrant Search Based Mitigation Technique for DC Voltage Fluctuations in Multilevel Inverters

  • The hybrid cascaded multilevel inverter (HCMLI) is a popular converter topology that is being increasingly used in high power medium voltage drives. The intricacy of the control technique for a HCMLI increases with the number of levels and due to fluctuating dc voltages. This paper presents a novel offline quadrant search based space vector modulation technique to synthesize a sinusoidal output from a dispersed pattern of voltage vectors due to different voltages in the auxiliary unit. Such an investigation has never been reported in the literature and it is being attempted for the first time. The method suggested distributes the voltage vectors for a reduced total harmonic distortion at minimal computation. In addition, the proposed algorithm determines the maximum modulation index in the linear modulation range in order to synthesize a sinusoidal output for both normal and abnormal vector patterns. It is better suited for a wide range of practical applications. It is particularly well suited for renewable source fed inverters which utilize large capacitor banks to maintain the dc link, which are prone to such slow fluctuations. The proposed quadrant search space vector modulation technique is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK and implemented using a Nexys-2 Spartan-3E FPGA for a developed prototype.

Permanent Press 가공용 실리콘 유연제의 합성과 그의 특성화 (Synthesis of Silicone Softner for Permanent Press Finish and Its Characterization)

  • Silicone softner(SSN-3) for permanent press(PP) finish was prepared by blending beef tallow hardened oil for Improving softness, water, the emulsion, which was synthesized from pentaerythritol monostearate as a softening component and silicone oil KF-96 as a lubricating component. The prepared SSN-3 and the PP finishing resin were applied to PP finishing cotton broad cloth and P/C gingham samples using one bath method. The properties such as crease recovery, tear strength, bending resistance test were tested. The samples treated with SSN-3 and PP finishing resin have improved properties, compared with nontreated samples, those treated only with PP finishing resin, those treated with commercial PP finishing softners and PP finishing resin. Also from the bending resistance test, the two kinds of fabric samples treated with SSN-3 of 3% showed grade 5 and these were good enough in feeling.

Morphological types and morphometrical measurements of the suprascapular notch in both dry bones and human cadavers: anatomical study to improve the outcomes of the diagnostic and interventional procedures in the shoulder region

  • Understanding the anatomy of suprascapular area helps the clinicians and surgeons in management of any disability at the shoulder region. This work aimed to clear the different morphological and morphometrical types of suprascapular notch (SSN). Unknown 120 dry human scapulae of both sides and 60 formalin-embalmed cadaveric upper limbs (40 males and 20 females) were used in the present study. Three main morphological forms of SSN were reported: J, U, and V-shaped. J-shaped notch showed the highest incidence followed by U-shaped then V-shaped one. Morphometrically, type (III) notch was the most prevalent in both dry bones and cadavers, while the incidence of type (II) was the lowest form. Also, the measurements of superior transverse diameter, middle transverse diameter and vertical dimension of the different types of the notch showed no side or sex significant difference. The suprascapular foramen with ossified superior transverse scapular ligament (STSL) was seen in 5.8% of dry bones and 10% of cadaveric specimens. Fan and band-shaped ossified transverse scapular ligaments were reported. Absence of SSN was seen in 10.8% of dry bones, 7.5% of male and 10% of female specimens with left side predominance. V-shaped, absence, and ossified STSL were considered as predisposing factors of suprascapular nerve entrapment syndrome. Knowledge of the morphology and morphometric parameters of SSN is of great clinical significance for anatomists, radiologists, physiotherapists, orthopedics and neurosurgeons to perform good diagnosis and best planning for surgical or arthroscopic interventions within the shoulder region.

수처리용 Ti/IrO2/SnO2-Sb-Ni 전극의 전기화학적 특성평가 (Electrochemical Properties of Ti/IrO2/SnO2-Sb-Ni Electrode for Water Treatment)

  • In this work, we prepared a heterojunction anode with a surface layer of SnO2-Sb-Ni (SSN) on a Ti/IrO2 electrode by thermal decomposition to improve the electrochemical activity of the Ti/IrO2 electrode. The Ti/IrO2-SSN electrode showed significantly improved electrochemical activity compared with Ti/IrO2. For the 0.1 M NaCl and 0.1 M Na2SO4 electrolytes, the onset potential of the Ti/IrO2-SSN electrode shifted in the positive direction by 0.1 VSCE and 0.4 VSCE, respectively. In 2.0-2.5 V voltages, the concentration in Ti/IrO2-SSN was 2.59-214.6 mg/L Cl2, and Ti/IrO2 was 0.55-49.21 mg/L Cl2. Moreover, the generation of the reactive chlorine species and degradation of Eosin-Y increased by 3.79-7.60 times and 1.06-2.15 times compared with that of Ti/IrO2. Among these voltages, the generation of the reactive chlorine species and degradation of Eosin-Y were the most improved at 2.25 V. Accordingly, in the Ti/IrO2-SSN electrode, it can be assumed that the competitive reaction between chlorine ion oxidation and water oxidation is minimized at an applied voltage of 2.25V.

P/N-CTR 코드를 사용한 SSN과 누화 잡음 감소 I/O 인터페이스 방식 (The SSN and Crosstalk Noise Reduction I/O Interface Scheme Using the P/N-CTR Code)

  • 칩과 칩 사이의 전송 속도가 증가함에 따라, 누화 및 스위칭 잡음에 의한 시스템의 성능 저하가 심각해지고 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 인터페이스는 한 심벌 펄스의 상승/하강 에지 위치에 데이터를 엔코딩하고, 천이 방향이 반대인 P-CTR과 N-CTR (positive/Negative Constant Transition Rate)을 사용하며, P-CTR 드라이버 2개 묶음과 N-CTR 드라이버 2개 묶음을 교대로 배치하여 버스를 구성한다. 제안하는 P/N-CTR 코드 인터페이스에서는 임의의 한 배선에 대해서 양옆의 이웃한 배선 신호가 동시에 같은 방향으로 스위칭하는 경우가 발생하지 않기 때문에 최대 누화 잡음과 최대 스위칭 잡음을 기존의 I/O 인테페이스 보다 감소시킬 수 있다. 제안하는 인터페이스 방식의 잡음 감소 특성을 검증하기 위하여 다양한 배선 구조와 여러 비트 폭의 버스 구조에 적용하고, 0.35㎛ SPICE 파라미터를 이용한 HSPICE 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 제안한 인터페이스는 기존의 인터페이스와 비교하여 32 비트 미만의 버스에서는 최대 누화 잡음이 최소26.78 % 감소하고, 누화는 50 % 감소한다.

  • This paper presents an efficient method for estimating maximum simultaneous switching noise(SSN) of ground interconnection networks in CMOS systems. For the derivation of maximum SSN expression we use a-power law MOS model and an iterative method to reduce error that may occur due to the assumptions used in the derivation process. The accuracy of the proposed method is verified by comparing the results with those of previous researches and HSPICE simulations under the present process parameters and environmental conditions. Our method predicts the maximum SSN values more accurately as compared to existing approaches even in more practical cases such that there exist some of output drivers not in transition.

  • SSN을 줄이기 위해 벌크단의 그라운드와 소스단의 그라운드를 분리한다. 이 방법을 사용하면 소스과 벌크의 전압 차이가 발생하는데 소스에 발생되는 전압은 기생인덕턴스로 인해 노이즈 전압이되고 벌크의 전압은 그라운드에 바로 연결되기 때문에 0V가 된다. 이 방법을 사용하면 소스단에 기생인덕턴스가 벌크단에 미치지 못하게 되어 노이즈를 줄일 수 있다.. 본 논문에서 나타난 결과는 공통그라운드를 사용한 구동 드라이버 보다 SSN을 10% 간단히 줄일수 있다.

  • Simultaneous Switching Noise (SSN) propagated through parallel power and ground planes in high-speed multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs) causes malfunction of both digital and analog circuits. To reduce SSN, decoupling capacitors are generally used in the PCBs. In this paper, we improve the equivalent circuit model of decoupling capacitor in high-frequency range to analyze the effect of SSN reduction accurately. The analysis is performed by the microwave and RF design system (MDS) method and the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. We compared the results by the ideal capacitor model with those by the proposed model.
