  • This study deals with how computer game affects spatial-temporal capability of game users. Focusing on college students, this study shows almost the same results as 'Mozart effect' by Gordon Shaw's previously famous study for music on spatial-temporal capability. Additionally, in comparison to music and animation, on-line racing game has more positive influence on a specific spatial-temporal capability.

  • The rural houses in Tonghae have a different spatial structure from those of the other area because of the characteristics of a regional circumstances between the Taebaek mountains and the East Sea. The purpose of this study is aimed at grasping how the spatial transformations of the rural houses according to the changes of the housing lifestyles by the modernization and urbanization are coped with and changed. This study consists of understanding the trend of change of the rural houses in Tonghae through the analysis of living elements and the spatial transformation and process of the rural houses in Tonghae since 50's on the basis of the use change, extension and renovation of residential space.

  • Recently, location based services, which make use of location information of moving objects, have obtained increasingly high attention. The moving objects are time-evolving spatial objects, that is, their locations are dynamically changed as time varies. Generally, GIS server stores and manages the spatial objects, of which locations are rarely changed. The traditional GIS server, however, has a difficulty to manage the moving objects, due to the fact of locations being frequently changed and the trajectory information (past locations of moving objects) being managed. In this paper, we have designed a moving object server, which stores and manages the locations in order to support various location based services. The moving object server is composed of a location acquisition component, a location storage component, and a location query component. The contribution of this paper is that we integrate the each work for location acquisition, storage, and query into a moving objects server.

  • With the development of information technology, the demand on digitalized space information is being largely expanded in our society. Especially, the recency securing of material as well as various policy alternatives like expansion on an application scope are being required in the spatial information utilization field, such as efficient use and management of the land, various spatial plans, environment and disaster management, etc. The present research aims to suggest an evaluation model by applying the system dynamics theory for dynamic analysis on utilization of this spatial information.

  • Common methods of determining the spatial resolution of fiber-optic image guides are by measuring the diameter of individual microfibers or by the use of a resolution test target. However these methods cannot provide enough information of spatial resolution in ultrathin fiber-optic image guides. In this study, a simple method to measure the modulation transfer function (MTF) of an mage guide was developed. The MTFs of ultrathin image guides with 3 and 4${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ Um diameter were measured by examining transmitted sharp edge image. This method should be especially useful for measuring spatial resolution of ultrahigh resolution image guides with less than 5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ diameter microfibers because their spatial resolution cannot be determined by individual microfiber diameter due to crosstalk and leaky ray phenomena.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of various spatial characteristics on the land surface temperature and to grasp the characteristics of thermal environment by types of urban area in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do. The spatial data were consisted LST, normalized difference built-up index(NDBI) and normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) obtained from Landsat 5 TM and land use and land cover map classified from high resolution digital aerial photograph($10cm{\times}10cm$). The unit space for spatial analysis was built by $500m{\times}500m$ Vector GRID. According to the results of estimation of relationship between thermal environment and spatial characteristics, LST had the highest positive correlation with NDBI by 0.929 and had high positive correlation with impervious area ratio by 0.857. In order to analysis of thermal environment on land use, types of urban area were classified by 4 of residential focus area, industrial focus area, green focus area and mixed area. According to the results of analysis, mean LST of industrial focus area was showed the highest by $21.10^{\circ}C$. But mean LST of green focus area was analyzed the lowest by $18.85^{\circ}C$. In conclusion, the results of this study investigated the effects of spatial characteristics on urban thermal environment and can provide methods and basic informations about land use planning and development density restriction for reduction of urban heat.

  • Due to recent increase of indoor spatial information demands, several international standards have been published for indoor spatial information. OGC has also recently published two standards for indoor space; CityGML and IndoorGM. CityGML aims to provide a standard for 3D city modeling and the level of details (LoD) 4 covers the indoor space. IndoorGML focuses only on indoor space and provides several functions to complement the weakness of CityGML. It is therefore recommended to apply IndoorGML as a combination with CityGML. However since the weakness and strengths between these standards are not yet fully studied and understood, there is no well-defined guideline to apply them in a proper way. It means that we need to carry out a comparative study between them for their proper integration. For this reason, we discuss the pros and cons of these standards from two use-cases. The sites for the use-cases cover Lotte World Mall and Jongno-5 subway station, respectively. We studied these use-cases to compare CityGML and IndoorGML through the data construction of CityGML and IndoorGML for these sites. And based on several application scenarios, we also analyzed the weakness and strengths of each standard from different viewpoints. We expect that these comparative studies will be helpful to make a guideline on the application and integration between CityGML and CityGML.

  • This study was intended to reliably predict the traffic green house gas emission in Daegu with the use of spatial statistical technique and calculate the traffic green house gas emission of each administrative district on the basis of the accurately predicted emission. First, with the use of the traffic actually surveyed at a traffic observation point, and traffic green house gas emission was calculated. Secondly, on the basis of the calculation, and with the use of Universal Kriging technique, this researcher set a suitable variogram modeling to accurately and reliably predict the green house gas emission at non-observation point suitable through spatial correlation, and then performed cross validation to prove the validity of the proper variogram modeling and Kriging technique. Thirdly, with the use of the validated kriging technique, traffic green gas emission was visualized, and its distribution features were analyzed to predict and calculate the traffic green house gas emission of each administrative district. As a result, regarding the traffic green house gas emission of each administration, it was found that Bukgu had the highest green house gas emission of $291,878,020kgCO_2eq/yr$.

  • In this paper, we compared the spatial peak SAR values measured with and without holding the hand-held phones to check the present recommended spatial peak SAR. To better understand the analysis of the SAR effect values, SAR is measured with hand phantoms, made and recommended for the use of Bar-type and Folder-type hand-held phones. The measured results have shown that use of the hand considerably reduces the spatial peak SAR value in a head phantom. We compared the spatial peak SAR values measured with and without accessories. To better understand the analysis of the effects of SAR values with accessories, SAR is measured with accessories composed of three kinds of earrings and glasses. The measured results proved in study that the spatial peak SAR value in a head phantom is not affected by the earrings but by the glasses. The glasses considerably increases the spatial peak SAR value in a head phantom while using Bar-type phones, although the effects are modest with Folder-type phones.

  • In recent years, our society, because of the arrival of a new paradigm according to the rapid changes in ICT has entered into future smart society and the ubiquitous era. So it can be a notable turning point in the city and administrative spatial informatization, aspects of the era change. Therefore, this study was to derive a desirable vision for the city of Busan Centum City Informatization in the dream of leading global smart city of Busan by applying 'scenario planning' as a foresight method. Soon this study derived a successful local informatization strategy for Centum City in Busan. It proposed the use of the administrative aspects of information with spatial informatization as metadata information. Also this study explored the future leadership strategy of Busan Centum City in smart society. Eventually in 2030 to around, In order to still remain Busan Centum City as a leading ICT smart city, this study suggested the following strategy. It is important to increase the satisfaction of citizen services through the use of the administrative aspects of information with spatial informatization as metadata information for urban information system.
