A Study on the Seismic Analysis of Nuclear Power Plant Pumps (원자력 발전소용 펌프의 내지진해석에 관한 연구)

  • The pump safety related to the functions in nuclear power plants must be designed to meet load conditions considering seismic requirements. In order to satisfy both structural integrity and operability of these pumps, the initial step in the seismic qualification is to establish the resonant frequencies of the structure. Applications we made to the design of the vertical and horizontal type pump. Computational results are analyzed with respect to the dynamic characteristics and are compared to the expected design requirements.

  • The cumulative function of the noncentral t distribution calculate power in testing equality of means of two normal populations and confidence intervals for the ratio of population mean to standard deviation. In this paper, the evaluation of the cumulative function of noncentral t distribution is applied to the neural network consists of the multi-layer perception structure and learning process has the algorithm of the backpropagation. Numerical comparisons are made between the Fisher's values and the results obtained by neural network theory.

  • Chattering phenomenon is still a large drawback of VSS. To overcome this problem, various approaches have been reported. A new notion of sliding sector has been proposed recently. In this paper, new methods of the nonlinear system control using the sliding sector theory with continued input function in the sector is proposed. This paper analyzes the stability, using Lyapunov function on the sliding sector. computer simulation for inverted pendulum results in elimination of the chattering phenomenon.

  • This paper presents an improved droop method of the high voltage DC power supply which minimizes the voltage droop of a parallel-connected power supply. Conventionally, the droop method has been used to achieve a simple structure and no-interconnections among the power sources. However, it has a trade-off between output voltage regulation and load sharing accuracy. In this paper, the droop is minimized with a current and droop gain control using steady-stage estimation. The proposed method can achieve both high performance voltage regulation and load sharing. Two 10kV, 100mA parallel power modules were made and tested to verify the proposed current-sharing method.

  • This paper presents a structure of the retail electricity market based on the local pool with LDERP(Local Distributed Energy Resource Provider) for small energy prosumers. LDERP is an operator for the proposed market, which conducts performance measurement and settlement by the distribution plan determined through contract with participants. The trading process is designed similarly to the negawatt market. In the case study, the many-sided conditions of the proposed market are comparatively analyzed with the existing prosumer programs. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework in determining the purpose of market operating for the benefit of participants according to the various situations.

  • Dynamic properties of proteins can present key information on protein-ligand and protein-protein interaction. Despite their usefulness, the properties of protein dynamics have not been obtained easily due to protein stability and short-term measurement. Here, it is shown that combined method for analysis of dynamical properties. It utilizes predicted order parameter and NMR relaxation data such as $T_1$, $T_2$, and heteronuclear NOE. The suggested method could be used to know the flexibility of protein roughly without precise dynamical parameters such as order parameters through model-free analysis.

  • Container crane in container terminal have a lot of parts, and a crane breakdown affects the productivity of terminal. In this paper, we decide Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules for container crane in container terminals. We define structure of container crane using three model. Also we develop a simulation system and genetic algorithm for decision PM schedules based on failure and maintenance data collected from container terminal. We compare the work schedule with PM schedules of container crane, then regulate PM schedules using heuristic method.

  • This paper deals with a robust controller design problem for a small one-link robot arm system subject to input time delay and load variations. The uncertain parameters of the system are considered as a disturbance input. A disturbance observer(DOB) has been designed to alleviate disturbance effects and to compensate performance degradation owing to the time-delay. This paper employs a new DOB structure for non-minimum phase systems together with the Smith predictor. We propose a new controller for reducing the both effects of disturbance and time-delay. In order to test the performance of proposed controller, four different other control laws are compared with the proposed one by computer simulations. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

  • In the engineering field, sloshing in rolling vessel is a hot issue because of the connection with ship stability problem. The sloshing phenomena also can be utilized in the field of structure or facility vibration damper. This paper explores the possibility which sloshing of multi-particles can be used to dissipate energy in a rolling container. This energy dissipation can be utilized to the application of rotating damper. Some of the parameters expected to dissipates energy, such as vessel size, particle size, mass fraction and ramp height, have been experimentally and theoretically studied.

  • The final purpose of this study is to develop noise abatement procedures for minimizing damages caused by aircraft noise, to establish appropriate noise limits and to suggest a plan for imposing surcharges and penalties on aircraft infringing the noise limits. This study establishes noise abatement procedures and suggests a plan to complement and improve upon NMS in Gimpo International Airport by reviewing the NMS structure. In addition, this study establishes a noise limit at each noise monitoring system and a verification system to discriminate infringing aircraft. Finally, this study suggests a control plan for aircraft Infringing the noise limit.
